I really like hubpages very much. Its a great source of meeting new people, getting lot of information, sharing your knowledge and also earning money. I never liked any other website this much. How about you? Do you have any other favorites?
ABSOLUTELY.
I tried Squidoo and did a few articles there, but i hate Squidoo absolutely. No friendly community exists there.
I know no other great place than HubPages. So, to me, HP rocks!
Yea what he said.
Things is , I dont know when things changed for me ,maybe its an evolving thing , first few weeks creating a hub was a hit n miss affair( mostly miss) then like all good addictions I perservered because I really wanted to write. So my hubs have improved and Ive learned alot about advertising ,whoa!
Its probably more about selling words and advertising than what I thought writing was going to be about.
So evolve is what Im trying to do
The forums, are what they are, litttle bit of this, and a whole lotta that lol.
Hubpages is good, not the best, but I'll quote ralwus "it'll do"
So EWeath, what's the best, then?
I like it here a lot. If you need to get your blood pumping you can go to the religion forums. For everything else, it's a lot less work, and generally nice people.
I haven't really made any money from HubPages, so as far as monetary gain other sites like Triond and Helium seem to suit me better. I guess I may not really be doing it right. I actually started browsing the forums just now to look for better ways to promote my hubs, but it looks like I got distracted.
I really like Hubpages, like the real world it has it's mix of characters but like life it would be boring if we were all the same. So do I like Hubpages as a site, as Ralwus says it will do, do I like Hubpages for some really great friends I have made, damn right I do
I was being facetious. I love it and all the peoples here. Especially Janetta.
Really? There are more sites out there besides Hubpages? Go figure
I'm with ralwus and HealthTip. Other sights I've been on aren't nearly as warm and fuzzy. I can get instant feedback just by simply going on the forums or check hubtivity to find hubbers who are currently active and reach out to them privately through e-mail.
I'm here a lot, by the way
hee hee...."warm and fuzzy"....
i like it because it is so user-friendly...everything is really easy to assemble and set up and the mods are proactive and quick and most of the people are extremely talented and helpful. i have no time to exist anywhere else but i don't know if i would even if i did...i don't just like HubPages...i love it.
I have made more money elsewhere, but I like the article formats and the community much better here. So I spend more time and write more articles here
Hp is where it's at. I like the balance between community and money making. It's got a nice blend.
Yes, I absolutely love HubPages because you can read other people's Hubs and learn a lot about different subjects such as Math, love, weather, news, etc.
Also I love Google Analytics, since I can see where my visitors are coming from. In just two days of blogging, I have visitors from Utah, North Carolina, California, Israel, and the Philippines.
I expect to see more visitors in the future ))
Hubpages has grown on me...though like someone else said it has its good day and its bad days. Some days I hate it some days I love it
I also forgot to say I love hubpages more than the last writing site I was on because the members are from right across the globe. I find it great reading contrasting views from all different cultures. Plus there really is some great talent on here, besides the detailed hubs some of the Poetry on here is just amazing. Yeah, I am hooked !
Plus of course the Hubsteam do all the work for you in getting your hubs viewed and getting you a few dollars in your pocket, all in all the best site on the net.
I love the hubs!!!, and the hubbers! It is a great place to be real! and what money?...lol...you are a great crew of intellect, humor, and passion!!!
It's the first and only place I've written, so yes I like it!
Wouldn't it be odd if someone posted here that they honestly didn't like hubpages. That would be some very peculiar sadomasochistic fetish they had!
I really like the way they make it so easy for you to add pictures, and videos to the hubs. You can put more information into the hub, it's better for all who read it.
Am new to HubPage and I agree that community spirit is great and helpful. After 2 weeks, still finding my way around still and yes struggling to meet the expectations of the 30 days 30 hubs challenge. Stuck on #9. Cranking hard on what next to write.
8 days...I've gotten great comments, no money yet but hey, I've got other means thank God.
I absolutely enjoy writing in my spare time anyway, what better way than to do it with the added potential of earning money? I'm a consistent writer and will naturally try to write at least 4 columns per week, so in the long run this is fun.
It is what it is, and what it is to me is a weekly project for a talent of mine that I enjoy doing. Plus there's a category for anything you want to discuss in the forums.
thanks.
i love it here.... truly i do, i feel it is like a family. I am learning about lots of things everyday and my writing is improving.
Being universal is wonderful, as there are some talented people around the world posting on here, and still taking to time to help others find their feet in the writing world, and indeed in life at times.
I have never been on other sites, so am delighted to have stumbled accross this one, i actually feel a lot of love radiated on here, and when i need it can home into it.....
My Answer Is I Love It............ xxxxxxxxxxx
i love hub pages have already posted, the song is BY Kizer Chiefs or something like that sorry it was for Mrvoodoo who says he likes hub pages less and less each day.... i love it more each day
I was just jesting, if I didn't like it I wouldn't be here.
EVERY DAY I LOVE YOU LESS AND LESS
that is a great song now whos sings it, it is an English group from the north, and they appeared in dublin with U2 they are brilliant
The Kaiser Chiefs, nice song and nice new pic, here is the song video just for you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPGZNWz0XAY
thanks soooo enjoyed that, saw them live as i said they were on with U.2. they have the same accents as me, and it is nice to see people from home, when you are away from it..... they are so energetic, and my son apparantly dances his way to work listening to them in his car. They were a good bit of entertainment, in Dublin for sure. Ain't my daughter pretty.
I enjoy Hubpages, especially the comments to my hubs. Everyone here is wonderful and honest. I like that. I look forward to coming on here every day.
Hubpages is a glorious place to hang out and write. Most of the people in the forums have a good sense of humor and are willing to help you with whatever the problem of the day happens to be.
It has its ups and downs. I haven't made a cent here and am honestly look for other options and to find a niche.
For writing, it beats the other sites hands down, its easy to publish a hub and there are good writers on here who are generally helpful.
The forums are helpful if you know where to look
The community aspect is nice too, I've not made friends like others have here, but its nice to chit chat once in awhile.
I really enjoy it here and have learned so much in a short time.
I feel like I'm just getting my feet wet. I even wrote about it, our global audience. http://rebekahelle.com/
Hey girl just checked it out, you have a new follower and have bookmaked it. LOve the colour scheme, really well done !
thank you HT, glad you found it. and thanks poetlorraine by stopping in to say hello!
No probs, I am off for the day, here is a good Irish joke to cheer you all up !
Paddy's Fingers
Paddy was working at the fish plant in Cork when he accidentally cut off all 10 of his fingers.
He went to the emergency room in Cork's hospital.
The doctor looked at Paddy and said, 'Lets be avin' da fingers and oi'll see what oi can do'.
Paddy said, 'Oi haven't got da fingers.'
'Whadda ya mean you haven't got da fingers?
Lord Tunderin' Jesus, it's 2009!
We's got microsurgery and all kinds of incredible techniques.
I could have put dem back on and made you like new!
Why didn't ya bring da fingers?!?'
And Paddy said,
"How da fock was I 'spose to pick dem op????"
Hub pages, of course it's addictive. What's the matter with you thra (term of endearment for dearest thanax)
If Wus likes it, it's cool.
I have been told on several occasions, the only way to make friends with me is to have a huge disagreement,, and afterwards everything will be hunky dora.... why i don't know but it keeps working like that. You think you are hard work, man my poor husband, has a dog's life with me believe me.....
PL hon, which of you is doing the talking.
I know my tail makes a big splash, but there is only one of them.
My Boss
My Ex Wife
My Daughter
My Son
Unlike my persona on here in real life I am such a soft touch, I need to put my foot down
yeah give them a hard time instead of us ha ha
what job do you do????
I work in a Finance Office, tis why I log on here to escape
brilliant, so you can go on while you are at work, do you do accounts or something
Yeah I have 4 screens up, Word for work related stuff, my work stuff page, Excel for boring figures and here although only for 30 minutes or so, so I am basically working as I am typing this back to you !
Yep it's easy to put up on your screen and chat or blog while you are working. Not a good habit but I do it all the time! It is a great escape from the mundane..
Lol it's deff not a good habit, I really need to cut back on it !
My son does that too Art, hes sposed to be pacifying disgruntled customers but he says it can get stressful and tedious dealin with the same whining offensive people all the times , so he too escapes for a few minutes. Then its back to the ' Hi I want to help you , please tell me what your biggest concern is today ....( when he really wants to says, put it back in the box and send it back because you are too bleep bleep stupid ,to turn the power switch on!).....lol lol
Whatever it takes ya to get through your day , if it aint hurtin anyone , just be I say
Sometimes I am actually typing as I am talking to someone on the phone, really gotta kick the habit
Well tell them I said hello and I gotta new hub coming out soon too
he heheeheheh me too. But I get my work done nevertheless. Type a few notes here and there. Go talk to some patients. Plan some discharges. Write a hub.. and call it a day I am queen of the multislacking!
I think that Hubpages is an excellent platform for money making and a great community, but I do have concerns about its future and wish that there was more communication by staff on the forums about future plans and their own concerns. Unfortunately these concerns of mine are often knocked down and labelled as negativity by a few hubbers. There is no better adsense sharing site though, it is the best at what it does, and independant blogging can become lonely.
Ryan i am not always on your wave length as i do not understand the technical side, or the promoting side of writing what so ever. I think you will definately out grow hub pages before anything happens to it, and when you do, keep in touch and let us know how you are. If you get an editors job or something, can i be it's agony aunt.....
I think at some point you'll be forced to accept that this is you (us)
And batteries don't get a say in how things are run (there's been at least 15 threads over the last few days calling for change, all of which have been completely ignored by HP).
But then maybe I'm wrong, maybe you're the HP Neo and can bring about these changes. Or maybe you'll just get recycled and fed to those who come after.
I'm enjoying HP very much and am becoming rather addicted to it. I was a decent writer to start out with, but it's been a challenge for me in terms of learning how to write for online. I'm not making much money yet, but I'm getting some good feedback on my writing ... and I like having my work out there. When you write for magazines (as I've been doing for the past 15 years), your article comes out in one issue and then that's it, it's over, on to the next issue. I like that my HP hubs are just up there for anyone to see, any time.
I love hubpages because it is very similar to my wardrobe. 30% of it is rubbish and does not look good on me. 10% is very exspensive and top quality which I would never get rid of. 20% is day wear that is comfy and reliable. 10% is sentimental and hold memories of times gone by. 30% is pure fashion for today, but will be thrown out soon.
i am one of the 10per cent ...... please say i am. I like the way you likened hub pages to your wardrobe, it is good writing
Course you are...I was sorting my wardrobe today as I am off to Portugal tommorrow, and it came into my head. I guess I could compare my wardrobe to lots of things in life.
Ohhhhh no Helen Im doomed then
I arrived in a new country with 3 suitcases, that was not only my wardrobe but my life contents ...lol
Took me 6 months to unclutter ,but I did it.
I love writing and hubpages do make it fun and creative , yet I dont feel Im doing what I want to do...still its a journey and I just keep puttin one foot in front of the other
have a good holiday, it would work in an article about something for sure, jot it down so you don't forget. Are all the family going
Yes, little ole me, and hubby, and three grown lads. What fun, I said to hubby we have to pretend we are away with friends, and if you can't beat um, then join um. Looks like I will be sozzled for a whole week, clubbing till 5am, and pulling chicks.
I moved from New Zealand to the United States Helen
( couple of hubs on it )
I will have to check them out whilst I'm on hols. What a move you made..heck I would need 6 lorries not 6 suitcases. How did you manage that?
Just decided to be ruthless and cutback on 'things'
Made a list of things I used in the last 6 months , everything else I sold or gave away, not like I had the antigues anyway or any Queen Ann lol.
Its how I did my wardrobe too ,if I never worn something in the last 6 mths out( chances are ,Im not going to in the next 6 mths) it goes.
And Ive been in the U.S 7 mths now and not missed a thing , ok maybe my hair straightner lol ,but honestly it was good for my hair to have a break and they are cheap to buy again , as opposed to excess wieght in luggage.
Damn airlines making a killing these days !
how old are the boys??????, don't pull too many chicks, they are expensive, ha ha
Do you have your own hair dressers, if so who runs it for ya, i have always thought a hair dressers shop would be a wonderful place to be all day watching people, for a writer.....
I could make a documentary on my salons, but maybe I would lose my clients so I stay mum for now. Yes I have good managers in both so it's great as we can jet off when we like. They have worked for me for several years now and are like family. I am very lucky as most salons have a high turnover in staff. I can't even think when the last person left it was that long ago. The old biddies are the worst as they moan and moan all day long. I think they get bored and use us as a sounding board...bless.
I so need to find a hairdresser or stylist!
that knows how to cut big boffy hair
I tried the same tactic today and my husband came behind me and said you ain't gunna wear that, that, that...you get the picture. Not the hair straighteners..oh no.
You guys are lucky to have computers where the companies dont block certain sites, but sure must be handy for email and keepin notes etc....
Most all Govt Dept Employments are quite strict about computer use, guess they figure hinders productivety (for them).
Yea its a bad habit ,gosh I have several myself hehe
OH I work for a compnay where the sites are definately blocked.. but so far not this one! My saving grace Now if this site had the word Blog in it then it would be a no go!
by Susannah Birch 7 years ago
You can't. Just had to put that out there as I'm seeing newbies all over the forums going on about these topics lately.Serious money comes from getting views from Google NOT from having other hubbers visit your work. Some of the top hubbers on the site have separate accounts NO ONE knows about to...

Or, do you have any grouse against Hubpages/the hubbers?
by Mariko Lewis-Davis 13 years ago
I'm new but everyday I find out more about HubPages and that's what I love!
by Angela Michelle Schultz 11 years ago
I love hubpages! But I was wondering if anyone has better luck making money with a similar site?I have looked at many of the other sites, and hubpages seems to be the most user friendly, but I was curious what others have experienced as far as the money aspect goes.

Do you love hubpages??????
