For some reason this song just popped in my head
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYub1neLZmA
I am stuck on a boat doing circles off the coast of Angola, Africa. It is 3:20 AM in Angola. The upside is that I get to come home on the 25th.
That isn't too long from now. And doing doughnuts in the ocean sounds particularly better than listening to my cat who is in heat yowl at the outside cat.
ah shoot, and I was gonna complain that my computer is slow and if I keep eating cookies I'm not gonna lose any weight! you win dave - you got the worst boredom -
but we'll be glad you get back safe and sound!
Me too!! It will be great to get back home and to my own bed and sit with my cat and not have to get up for anything for a few weeks.
Well you can only have 5 of them at one sitting or yeah the fat in the choco chips starts to add up but otherwise yeah you are ok eating these.
And you said home was in Kentucky?
Been there once or twice I believe. Rather liked it I did. I'm looking towards the future and where I want to lay my hat at the end of the road. I'm really torn between Tybee Island and going out west.
Yes home is in KY.
I was just down in Tybee island back in the summer. Went to the Mighty 82nd museum. They have an exhibit that my grandfather is in.
Well dang, that is too cool.
We were down there over the 4th weekend. Had a blast.
I loved the quaintness of it all and the old charm of Savannah. I'm such a ninny when it comes to that antebellum stuff.
Spent a week at Hilton Head and loved it. Spent most of the time on the beach and sightseeing at night. I liked that a lot of places stayed open late. We went walking around the open air mall there in Hilton Head. It was great. I took a day trip to One of the islands out there. It only has like 100 permanent residents. I can't remember the name of it. It is something strange.
No, it was very historical and I can for the life of me remember what is was called. We had to take a boat over to it, then took a guided tour in a van. You could rent golf carts and travel around that way. They had a tiny diner right next to the marina and a general store. Really old church there. I am going to take a look at google Earth really quick
I wold love to add all hubbers as my fan but it seems not easy if they never want to follow after I followed them!
I'll have to check that out Dave. It sounds really interesting. I'm doing a visit of cities that I might want to settle in eventually trying to rule out the places I don't like.
I'd really like to find a small town like the one in Hope Floats. Just simple unincorp. kind of thing.
Head toward the KY Lynne. Simple country living at its best. Yes I am biased. I enjoyed GA the many times I was down there too. Illinois isn't bad either. It all depends on what you want from your move.
Hi Sord most don't fan just because you fanned them. Try adding comments and the like to their hubs and jump into the forums to get yourself known more. Welcome aboard!
Well it won't be for a while got to stick around the parents as they age, but once they are gone there is nothing to hold me to this area any more.
My daughter will be out west in AZ but I don't do extreme heat well so not so sure I want that climate.
Texas has that ranch hand appeal I like but the town would have to be really small. I need a grocery store and that is about it, lol.
I didn't get to see much of KY when we were there. Part of Kentucky lake as that is where the cabin was that we stayed in and that was about it.
Again I caution that I am biased....
Kentucky is beautiful. Many things to see and do, friendly people, clean air and water. I am sure the same can be said for nearly every state. The little town I live in has about 2500 people. There is Louisville about an hour away, and a couple of other decent sized towns nearby.
Well, you sold me. I'll put it on my list of places to check into. I do love those pics of the horses and all up there.
We get I guess a nice mix of weather but I've always wanted to live somewhere that had full seasons. Spring and fall are my fav times of year, a milder not so humid summer would be grand and a winter that saw some snow. Not a lot of snow but some that wasn't mostly ice,
Well....
Its very humid in the summer, and we get a lot of ice in the winter. Not as much snow, although in the last couple of years our snow amounts have been rising. It does have a nice mix of weather though.
I've already marked off Nashville and the surrounding area. So, a little further north might be a good choice but I'm really leaning towards TX.
The only reason I might consider the coast of GA is cause I'm just such a native. I've never lived any where else. I'm not a huge beach fan either so yeah that one is slowly making it off the list entirely.
Other choices are either a little north of Nashville like I said or head on over towards TX. They don't get the cold there like I would like to see but hey can always go stay at a B & B in Vermont or something.
True enough. I have friends that live on the outskirts of Nashville and they hate it. They both work at some college/university nearby and have been looking for a new job for a long time. As soon as they find something else, they are out of there.
So, I'm over on your page reading your story. Very interesting.
Thanks! Escaping the Hunger is my favorite. I did Sins of the Father for nanowrimo. I finished it after the contest, and have been trying to shop it around with limited success. I am having a lot of fun with Hunger. The characters talk to me more.
I like both of them. I can't seem to find Sins 4.
The Hunger is really rough around the edges and I really commend you for putting it out there. I am such a perfectionist that I've written and rewritten Blood Rose so much I can almost quote it in my sleep. I just keep finding things that need work.
I like the feedback we get here though. I had so many rejections on Blood that I was really starting to doubt myself especially after one editor told me it was Twilight meets Pirates of the Caribbean. It isn't but that is what she said. But I've gotten some decent feedback and think I may put it back out there in the coming weeks to some new publishing houses.
I haven't posted the edited revised Sins of the Father. Hunger hasn't been edited or revised in any way. I just went back over it to alter spelling and grammar (obvious) mistakes. I kind of have to rush through some of it, as its turned into a weekly serial on a zombie site. Livingdeadmedia.com
I have a stack of rejection slips already, and I will probably rack up some more before I get finished.
Interesting site there.
I'm anxiously awaiting Zombieland to hit DVD next month. It was filmed in part here where I live. We went and saw some of the set and all one of the nights they were filming and Woody Harrelson come out greeting everyone. He was great.
Yeah I think it's gonna be ok.
Well babes I got to call it a night. Hopefully, someone else will be along to help you finish out the shift over there.
Chat tomorrow. Kisses.
I went back to work today. I miss my Tribe already. Pretty sad day too. Pray for the people of Haiti.
We will be here when you get back Friendly. Stay safe and yes Haiti is in my prayers.
I didn't recognize you! the images coming from Haiti are so terrible I am having nightmares. I hope it gives everyone the opportunity to rebuild it the right way - but no way to rebuild the lost lives.
anyhow - good morning all! The sun is shining again on us here!
How fortunate we are!
Hmmm...Awfully quiet tonight.
And now I've gotta run. Must get up early tomorrow. Hope everyone takes care!
Hiya Spider!!
Sorry I missed ya. I had work stuff that was occupying my attentions this evening. Problems with equipment and what not.

We must regroup and set our goals for the evening, we just must.
Calling all tribe members

I got distracted by Jose Feliciano for a while this morning and published a hub with videos of all my favs by him - so I'm still dancing - bailando a "California Dreamin'"

This is likely A LOT to "ask" but if you have a few minutes please take a look. I've been having fun here on Hubpages for nineteen months and have recently decided to take the productivity level more seriously. I've started designing my own website and intend to start writing more and...

I have two hubs up so far. I am not entirely sure what a great ranking would be considering that they are quite new, but they are both above 60. Is this pretty good for newly established hubs? I would appreciate any feedback on my work and what can be done to improve for the future, as well as...

I've just received word that I've qualified to receive some "assured long-term" benefits for disability - on an application process that took over 2 years and many individuals/professionals as advocates' assistance. This means that I can evade the constant worry of homelessness, so long...

Wrote a new hub this afternoon, just for fun. It is topical, relating to a new news item today. Would someone like to read it in it's entirety and comment, please? Pretty please? I don't usually do 'satire' if that is what it could be described as, should I leave it as it is, or go a bit further...
