So now kiddo ya gotta make sure you're taking care of yourself too. You been eating OK? # per day minimum? Getting any exercise?
Hehe...mom fed me today so today was a good food day. I'm real bad about that, how did you know? Spooky!
I do need to get back on the exercise thing. Had a routine and well yeah this last month has pretty much killed all my routines.
Once I get this little painting project done I intend to sit down and get my head wrapped back around me.
Grocery shopping for one kinda sucks though,
Not Spooky,, My Huny went through it all too, and with me oover in Iraq as well.
Tell me bout shopping for one,,, I hate it, but the Commissary at Ft Stewart actually is pretty good for that
they have lots of stuff in single serving sizes (like canned Veggies) that you couldn't seem to find a couple years ago.
One of the things she did was get a day planner and make a plan at least a week out and stick too it. for both meals and excercise..The more detailed she made the plan the better she seemed to be at sticking to it.
Oh yeah found some of those this weekend. I'm so dang used to cooking for mega people though you know guys with appetites this cutting back is a challenge.
I'm really starting to dig the quiet though. Thinking I may even get back to writing some fiction again.
Did you guys live on post?
See that would really help if I was in a neighborhood and not out here in the middle of the sticks, Don't get me wrong I love it when the deer come up to get water and all that jazz but someone within a stones throw might be nice too.
No not on post our house is in a development, Zena had a couple good friends, One that lives in Helen Ga and one in Augusta. They were Army Wife Vets, (for lack of a better phrase) and stayed close.
She had her garden as well which was a source of great passion pain and pride...
I have people close, I mean mom and dad live right across the pond, which overflowed and flooded my crawl space last night. But I cut myself off after my divorce from everyone except close family and now I have no inclination to hit the bars and all not that we have that many with it being a dry county.
Had a church but yeah even mom and dad have stopped going there due to the preacher that can't be removed for some dang reason. Not a lot in my age group there either. Mostly older or a lot younger with new families.
Thinking the volunteer thing might be the way to go.
My Legion Buddy Bill and I have some great fun with it. We spent our last hour today crakin up some of the hospital staff. We are both widowers so we have announced no more love gotta be bout nookie and money!! (he's 72)
But every time I go to do some of this I meet some more great folks.
That is funny, I am at a slight disadvantage where I live in the love dept. Everyone and I mean everyone here in my town is related to me in some shape or form. So, yeah no dating and um yeah no nookie either,
Another reason to get back in school, It's 45 minutes away and not likely to run into a cousin at the local wally world.
That would be a problem...(relatives)
Zena and I had an operating philosophy to live no closer than 800 miles to living relatives (At least a days drive) Hers were in England and mine around Chicago. That way when we or they came to visit we were always happy to see each other, and being far away left you with a good excuse to leave in 10 days or less. Kept us out of the family dramas too.
Yeppers...didn't think about that when dad said come on down we will build a house cause I need the extra tax break,
Oh well, it's ok. I'll eventually move since the house goes up for sale as part of their will. This little juggernaut has given me time to see who I am and where I want to be.
Thanks...well, the beer was grand but not as good as the company. I really need to retire for the night though so I can tackle the mean old carpet machine again tomorrow.
Good night, John! Sweet dreams!
Adieu Adieu sweet muse o mine!!
For this time has been like a good sweet wine!
Adieu Adieu till morrow Brings
Sun to your smile
and wings to your dreams!!
Good Night Kiddo
Hey all! I think I'm back! Is this me or what? I'm shocked, again! Now I must be nice. Glory be! Life is grand!
(Stirs fire embers sets log and starts Coffee)
Hey Charlie was back!
Just leave a note,
Welcome Back my Friend!
Gotta Go for now hope to see ya later!
Enjoy the Coffee!
All For the Tribe!!
Be Koo EL!
Rawlus - WELCOME BACK! I've been checking in on threads that have started in your honor, and I'm glad to see you up and typing!
Lynne - I like Hmrjmr's schedule idea. I'm used to being busy as can be, all the time. When I was home on my first maternity leave (although I was busier than I ever knew I would be just trying to take care of a baby) I still didn't quite know how to handle not having specific tasks. As I started gettinga little more sleep, I started making a list of chores to do each day. (Sometimes it was only... "Wash enough utensils for dinner" , but it helped keep me focused and not feeling like I was floating in the ether.
Well, just stopped by to stir the embers and say Good Morning.
I'll try to pop back over later. Could be a crazy day here. We're having some trees taken down, and the tree guys just got here. They're unloading their machines and equipment, and my little guys are going nuts running from window to window to see where the trucks/bulldozers/chippers are going!
Take care all.
I made a tag board. It has the days of the week with big blocks and I bought these little strip post-its the kind you would use to mark a spot to sign or something that are blank. Using them to write down what to do each day then take them off as each task is completed.
Need to remember to do one for eating and exercising cause once I get focused on a project or get here I kind of lose track of time.
Charlie it is good to see you up and around. Take it slow though.
Hello kids! Miss me? I missed y'all I know that much. Oh I'm so lucky. LOL
nice to see you here! yes, we worried about you!! now take it easy...
we missed you so much! are you on a special diet? cuz if you are we won't offer you slim jims and canned cheese - how about trail mix? hot oatmeal with maple syrup?
I missed you as much my friend. No special diet, low salt of course for years. No more booze. I am diabetic so I watch that as well. I will mend again in time. This is not my first but, my 4th. My medicine got all fouled up, my fault on that one. I am taking it easy for awhile. Thank you all once again for your concern and prayers. Now, let's just be the tribe.
Taking some classes that are keeping him busy, so he said he'd be scarce for awhile.
Either that, or Shaz got hungry again.
Okie dokie - I would like to do just a little hokie pokie around the campfire, if you don't mind - if you care to get up and shake it all about, come on! You put your right foot out, you put your right foot in!
We can cha, cha, cha around the camp fire tonight. I need to take a break right now. I need to stir my pot o' beans too. See ya later now. xox
Not staying long again... sound of falling trees (or rather, trees being felled) is making me jumpy and crazy, so I can't stand/sit still long enough to be online much. But, we had pretzel dogs (hot dogs with cheese cooked inside soft pretzels) as a treat for lunch, and I couldn't resist stopping by to drop a few off for the Tribe.
I'm saving my for later - I just had liverwurst on a bagel! sorry I didn't save any!
Yum! I'm a huge fan of liverwurst, but don't buy it often as I'm the only one in the house who likes it. Might just have to buy myself my own stash the next time I shop...
Don't know if I've ever had it on a bagel, but it sounds good. I usually just go for white bread with a nice slice of tomatoe. Or, if I'm feeling as though my blood is flowing a little too freely and unrestricted, on triscuits w/ a teeny dab of mayo on top.
ralwus - Thanks for the "follow" my friend. And the kind comments as well. I'm sure we'll get to know each other quite well here in this crazy thread! Being that all topics are on the table, it's been like a meet and greet on steroids for me.
here we go - talking all morning about food ! then I eat too much. It's the Tribe's fault isn't it! Gotta get up and dance around some! one, two cha cha cha!
anyone a fan of Adam Lambert? I know, I know, he's too young and gay for me - but I just love to listen to him and yesterday I discovered he already had an album called "Take One" before he was on the Idol - so I've been listening to it and its good - man, he has a terrific voice with this little extra twist in it! love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duOqcOSec2g he was on Ellen and I missed it - but he's auctioning his underwear for Haiti! hahaha
someone say Bagels? Liverwurst? Oh Pretzel Dogs yummers!!
Whaz up?
too much eating....gotta go for a run...oops, it's freezing and snowing out...who wants a late night snack??
first thing I ate today, actually....
I would like some vanilla bean ice cream, but its too cold for me to go out in this yucky freezing and snowy weather..but if you do not mind picking a pint up for me
good thing we're foodies or i'd be out of a job here in the Tribe!
Breakfast for tomorrow: freshly baked butter croissants, ruby red grapefruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, blueberry and concorde grape jam, white peppermint mocha and probiotic blueberry yogurt.
I'm taking orders tonight as I have to be up in about 4 hours to make and bake the croissants. Anyone?
count me in - and the sooner you can get here with it in the morning, the better - I get up usually about 6, and I don't get online until much later than that - so if you could, just deliver to my room and I'll have breakfast in bed! : also, be sure you close the gates, the dogs try to get out sometimes but they won't bite!
Oooh crepes or croissants. I'll take either or both if I can have them.
I got kinda depressed in that thread "Do you control your mind?" where we talked about depression - people like to argue, don't they? gaaahhhh!
Yeh, I needed to see myself as adult and strong and vital - so I found this one. I like the little kid me, and I'll go back to those sometime - I think to be most honest I have to keep changing the pics, because I am honestly changing that much - daily!
How about you Hmr - how's it going? did you do some volunteer training today?
No training today my next class is the 4th
On Tues and Thurs A friend of mine and I drive an another friend to his physical therapy, it;'s about a 120 mil;e round trip so takes most of the day (he has three hours of therapy sometimes 4
here's some Sarah McLatchin for an easy evening listening
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx4RsCfL_fA
Here's one you might like called the flower Duet.. You could do a cool free form dance to this one..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR85R1sv94g
@ hmr - Hey there Good Lookin'! Can you fix that pot of coffee dark and strong? Me thinks I'll be needing it this morning.
@ mega -- For you, I'll deliver it personally. I'll close the gates, but is it okay I give the pups a little treat? Perhaps slow roasted bones basted with terryaki sauce? Me thinks they'd like them...mine do!
@ flightkeeper -- I'll be happy to bring croissants and I can change the blueberry/concorde grape jam to freshly made strawberry jam. Would you like a fresh fruit cup topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings instead of the grapefruit?
Dark and strong is what it will be Beth for you your wish is my call to action
Your Fur is looking particularly good today...
A man after my heart...he who notices the details. Spent the day rolling in the snow and swimming in the cold water (well, the polar bear swim of course). Spent the afternoon sunning. ahhhh
@ mega -- Well, no bones for them pups then! I enjoy giving my furry friends treats; makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. You know, spread the love thing.
I'm glad you asked first - man, I would have gotten in so much trouble if you gave them a treat of any kind - they're on special diets and I can't even give them a milkbone - they're not my dogs! But how nice of you and those bones sounds scrumptious!
Yes please!
Man this is making me hungry.
I'm signing off for awhile to go watch Idol - I'm hooked! see ya later everybody!
Sets the fire up for overnite, Gonna Toddle off now Sweet Dreams Everybody!!
MMMM Coffee's hot and good,,
Wonder where Beth and Breakfast is?
Just do some mopping up and tidying things while I wait...

This is likely A LOT to "ask" but if you have a few minutes please take a look. I've been having fun here on Hubpages for nineteen months and have recently decided to take the productivity level more seriously. I've started designing my own website and intend to start writing more and...

I've just received word that I've qualified to receive some "assured long-term" benefits for disability - on an application process that took over 2 years and many individuals/professionals as advocates' assistance. This means that I can evade the constant worry of homelessness, so long...

I have two hubs up so far. I am not entirely sure what a great ranking would be considering that they are quite new, but they are both above 60. Is this pretty good for newly established hubs? I would appreciate any feedback on my work and what can be done to improve for the future, as well as...

Wrote a new hub this afternoon, just for fun. It is topical, relating to a new news item today. Would someone like to read it in it's entirety and comment, please? Pretty please? I don't usually do 'satire' if that is what it could be described as, should I leave it as it is, or go a bit further...
