    Yeppers...woke up to geese in the pond which is a sure sign the weather is going to be opening up here soon. I am gearing up for the Spring foliage by increasing my intake of locally produced honey. I love Spring and Fall but the heavy pollen here is bad. Too many pines, Ah anyway I digress, its beautiful outside today again and I'm just playing and surfing.

    It's been a beautifully sunny day here. I wanted to go for a walk and appreciate the snow-covered hills and sunshine (not a frequent phenomenon in the Rhondda!), but I had to stay home and work on translating numerous files on urinary incontinence, yipee!

       Oh that sounds like just so much fun there WA. I just did a hub on Urination therapy. I was a little shocked when I was approached with the topic I mean ew but urinary incontinence sounds rather a boring topic indeed.

          Well, the study documentation I'm translating requires participants to have 20 injections into the bladder plus self-catheterise if the treatment proves too effective. Hmmm, I reckon I'd rather stick to tissues in the panties if the need arose

          Do you know any languages? I fell into translation by accident and nobody gives a monkey that I don't have linguistic qualifications.

             Spanish and German but not to proficiency and some smatterings of Arabic, Korean, Mong, Vietnamese and proper English..

                You don't need to be proficient in producing a language to use it for translation. I'm not in most of mine. Translation relies on pattern recognition, which uses a different part of the brain from active use of a language.
                
                I signed up with free membership on proz.com, solved a couple of translation questions on Kudoz, and suddenly had an agency contact me with a job. I'm a paid member and certified Pro (heh, heh!) now, but was a free member for the first three years and got loads of work through it. You mention some fairly obscure languages. If you think you can translate out of them, go for it!

    Ah, Hmr we haven't been able to start the garden yet. I can't wait until the Silver Queen corn comes in though. I was gonna put in a little herb garden but dad thinks the deer will get to it all even though it would be close to the house so I'm trying to figure that one out. We looked at some fencing yesterday in one of his garden books but I really wanted this serene little patch of earth where I could put a bench and maybe a water feature.

       lynne - I use the term in the 'propa English' form as my Zena always called the whole thing the garden, got some weed whacking to do in the flower beds.

    WA - my ancestry on my dad's side goes back to Wales, and my first immigrant came from Dedham in 1647 Lt Richard Elyce Royal Army. Preety cool to meet some one from wales here..

    Ah I see...got that too do too here soon but gonna wait just a bit longer for the weather to be just a bit warmer.
    
    I love the fact that dad still plants an all inclusive garden every year. We get fresh veggies all summer long most of the time. Last year it was just too hot and dry. Ended up at the farmers market to get things. But honestly there is nothing better than fresh corn, butter peas and corn bread for dinner.

    Don't know if I'll be back.  Its been a bit of a long day.  Little one wound up at the ER this morning for stitches.  Nothing major, he's fine, (took a tumble and caught his forehead on the edge of a bench... he's a bruiser and an explorer, we're honestly slightly suprised he made it to 1 1/2 yrs w/o a visit already) but took a hunk out of our only family day of the week, so we're trying to squeeze in a bunch of stuff.
    
    Mostly just glad he's ok, but backed up on all those homely duties.   
    
    Hope everyone is doin' fine!
