Hey Steve: I know...I've been neglecting my Tribal duties. sad Plus I went away to Florida for school for about 9 days: Did 72 hours of class in 7 days. I checked out your Oscars hub, though--it was awesome smile What have you been up to?

Hey lynne: I'm a good Spider. smile Here in the Tribe trying to be a sort of spider-human liason--to smooth over all the bad feelings. Spiders are scared of people too, you know. wink How are things with you?

Pinky: Ooh! You're the first person to wave their legs back!! Awesome!

not much.  just been working and going to school a lot lately.  plus, i've been trying to look for another  job as well.  how did your classes go? i hope you did well.  did you have a nice trip?

      1. TheGlassSpider profile image69
TheGlassSpiderposted 15 years agoin reply to this

My classes were totally awesome--learned some great stuff and had great experiences.

The trip itself was grueling. I was staying with a friend whose dogs and children were just out of control--I was hardly able to sleep while I was there. Plus, I traveled in the tiny windows in between snow storms, and my car ended up being damaged by my roommates, who were using it while I was gone.

BUT overall a worthwhile experience, and the car is getting fixed soon. smile

that's cool. well sorry to hear about your car and not sleeping well part.  however, i'm glad overall you enjoyed your trip.  hopefully your car wont' take too long to have ready for ya.

Awww, but isn't it kinda neat to have someone fuss over you so?

Ah, we actually refrained from buying any at all, lol The wedding isn't until the end of June so I have a bit of time. I did find one dress that I really liked but the cap sleeves pulled on my arms a bit more than I would have liked for as long as I will have to be in it.

Fortunately, I found a pattern for almost the exact dress online at Vogue and am going to see about just making my own cause I can adjust things like sleeve openings etc.

Yeah, I mean the one we found today was 90 freaking dollars and I can do it for a 1/3 of that if I can find the material I want on sale etc. It's vintage 1950 shirt waist style with a pleated bottom and and nice sash.

Nice! You must be quite a talented seamstress...I can do simple things, but I'm not sure I'd trust myself to attempt a wedding dress.

Did I read correctly that you and pinkylee are related?

  22. profile image0
    lynnechandlerposted 15 years ago

I've been sewing for quite some time. Started in high school and have taught myself the ins and outs of it for the most part. I love creating new things. It is very rewarding when they come out the way I want them too.

And yeppers she is my oldest and my heart.

TheGlassSpiderposted 15 years agoin reply to this

How sweet...Mom and Daughter team! Awesome.

I enjoy needle arts, but I'm not a very good seamstress. I love cross-stitching, embroidery, crochet--trying to learn tatting (I am a Spider, after all wink ).

  23. profile image0
    lynnechandlerposted 15 years ago

I used to cross stitch but I don't know really got burned out on it. But I taught myself how to crochet with long distance help from my cousin in Tampa and I love that.

    1. TheGlassSpider profile image69
TheGlassSpiderposted 15 years agoin reply to this

I don't know if I could ever get burned out on it. I've been doing it for fifteen years now...although I do like to learn different variations and juggle projects.

I can't do any juggling of projects now, though. I'm working on a sampler for my friend's wedding in November. I can't wait to see it finished.

Cool...you should do a hub on it and show it off but that might give away the surprise if they read your work here.

I'm working on an afghan for my niece and her future husband. Matter of fact I should be doing that right now instead of playing in here, lol

    1. TheGlassSpider profile image69
TheGlassSpiderposted 15 years agoin reply to this

That's a good idea. The only thing is that it's only just begun. As for all the other pieces I've done in my life...I've given them all away LOL...I've never kept a single piece for myself. I only have a few pictures.

I suppose I could do a Hub on the progress of it. Hmmm...Maybe with little bits of wedding/marriage wisdom as it progresses.

      1. profile image0
lynnechandlerposted 15 years agoin reply to this

I should correct that; the game is new to me...but it's been out a little while.

that's cool. yeah, i agree with you there. i think games are becoming more and more of an art form as the graphics keep evolving.  that's one of the reasons why i get mad when i see those bs politicians trying to ban games all the time.

Yeah, not  just visually, but games have really gotten to the point that stories can be epic, characters can become quite memorable and even lovable. They make an impact. It's interesting stuff.

hmm...thats a bit of a tough one for me.  however, if i had to pick it would be a tie between these titles.

chrono trigger, final fantasy 7, final fantasy 10, and metal gear solid.

Chrono Trigger is also awesome. I'm also particularly fond of Resident Evil 4.

I've actually not played too many out of the FF series, I've played X and XII. And the FF III that's on the DS, all nice ones.

A Link to the Past just has so many memories for me; I never tire of playing it.

that's cool. i tried to play resident evil 2 a couple of times, but it always scares the crap out of me.  lol.  which is  kind of funny that when it comes to movies i rarely get scared. however, when it comes to video games, i get scared easily by games like resident evil.  lol.  go figure i guess.  lol.

If RE 2 scared you, then number 4 will make you P**S yourself. It's completely revamped and different from the prior titles. It's worth playing.
