Me too. I wanted to go to the grocery store. They’re having their annual $1.00 produce sale that’s always fantastic.
I am not sure Bev G ,
If you know, I have Cynophobia
I am too scared of dogs that I wrote an entire article on this topic
To let people understand
I am not acting, I am really scared of them, although some of them are really cute...
LOL...
Have to make the owner of dogs happy too..
One of my more popular articles for a while is about my total terror of fish. lol
I remember many years ago, there was some weird girl on the Maury show that was afraid of pickles! :lol
I had a friend once who was afraid of bananas! Something to do with the shape
"total terror of fish"? Never ever heard of that before. It's one of the funniest thing to swirl a fishing net into the sea and dive under the sea bed...catch a big Tilapia or Mullet traped by the net with my bare hands. I'm always at my elements at that during a fishing venture out on the sea.
Cool, man. Didn't know you went diving. Sounds awesome and I bet the fish is fresh and good.
More than fresh! I learn to keep them live! When coming off shore. And my customers cry out..."he's not dead...he's not dead!" Be careful or you get stung with a fin!
Umm... mam, we call them Tall, Grande and Venti here.
I think you should be a good dog breeder after Dr. Mark?
You Know I followed Dr. Mark because I read one of his articles named as "How to Protect Yourself From Aggressive Dogs and Their Owners"
LOL...
No puppies here! Apart from the three small dogs, which we collectively call 'the puppies'.
There are too many (unwanted) dogs in the world, so we won't be adding to them.
Bev, "No puppies here." send me laughing and jinggling! The kids like to send them after the aged and elderly folks just for fun here, and I hate the trick. However,I would like to have a good security breed that will guard my birds to pet house at evening to sleep.
I'll send Mitzi to you She's tiny (about 9 inches tall and smaller than our cat) but very feisty.
Bev, thanks. This is the thing I like. She looks cute.
Glad to see others noticed too. I hardly ever see Sunday payments from Hubpages, but early is better than late in my book.
I’m fairly sure that’s how it works with all reputable companies—early, not late. And I have received Sunday payments. This isn’t a PayPal issue or a Sunday issue. This is becoming a pattern which indicating either Maven,Inc is increasingly insolvent or has put paying people money they themselves have already received—they’re paying our earnings as a percentage of money they have made in revenue from articles, we, not Maven, wrote—is just not high on their list of priorities.
This, and the fact that silence is Maven’s response, is incredibly troubling.
I came here to say the same thing. Just kind of glad it's not just me; so I know that it's not my Paypal or miscalculation of earnings on my part. Looks like this is going to be the way it goes now; at least we know now and don't count on it!
Yes, please. I need to pay for my wifi. If I can't pay it and it goes off, I won't be able to pay my wifi cos I won't be able to see my pc because it will be stopped and...
er yeah! LOL!
Second time in three months. Hope this is not going to become a thing.
They probably needed to buy more hand trucks to move our bonuses to PayPal
I'd love some transparency from HP staff about the late payments, since this is the second time inside of 12 months. Prior to two years ago, payments were never late.
It's Sunday. The banks are closed. Banksters are busy counting their profits and finding ways to get them into the Cayman Islands.
I was looking to see if anyone said anything about the weekend. If it is not sent out tomorrow then it could be considered late. I think they always send it the following day of a holiday and not in advance, correct?
You might be right. Amazon tend to pay out early when payday falls on a weekend, but not so with HP. It's also Feb, the shortest month. I hope it's not a several day holdup, just a 24 hour one...
Not typically, no. It comes on the 28th of the month every month, until recently, when we've had multiple late payments in the past while. Until now, it didn't matter if it was on a weekend, a Sunday, or a holiday, the payment came in on time.
If my memory serves me right, there has been a tendency (not a rule) to be late on Sundays over the years, but I may be wrong. But yes, it's been late on other payout days too recently. That payout that was four or five days late recently, I can't remember that happening before and I've been here ten years.
Before 2020 the only late payout I have received was in Sept of 2017 and the 28th fell in the middle of the week. I have never had a late payment on a Sunday.
I have been here going on 9 years, but I will say I did not start getting paid consistently until 2016/2017. Prior I was getting paid every few months, but those payouts were always on time. I obviously can't speak for the months I did not make payout, but I personally have not received a late payment until very recently.
I remember when I joined we just had Adsense and Amazon accounts. Adsense always paid on time (21st?), but Amazon was late a few times.
Then they introduced the Hub Ads and payment date was what, the 20th?
Then they moved the payment date to the 28th. I feel like the payment has been a day late before the last year, but maybe I'm wrong. I could be getting confused with Squidoo (RIP), which paid out on the 15th(?) but could be late. So many different payout days to remember over the years...
Okay, I checked my earnings dashboard and I'm not going crazy, there have been late payments in the past!
I look for the payment the 28th of every month and have since I first started hitting payout threshold on a monthly basis. You should actually be able to track this on your earnings dashboard in HubPages, since it shows you what date the payments were sent from the earnings program.
Always on the 28th except for the cases where they have been late, and those times have not, in my experience, been on Sundays. The times they've been late have been fairly random in my experience.
So no, they don't have a history of paying late when the 28th lands on a Sunday. I've been here 12 years and have never seen that.
September 2017 paid on Friday, the 29th, then December 29th, 2020 was late. Except for May, 2020, I've made payout every month since the beginning of 2017 from an alternate account to this one.
And there have been other months that the 28th has fallen on a Sunday.
What I do recall is that HubPages migrated banks recently and that could mean that they are no longer paying on Sundays, but if that's the case I'd like to see an announcement made regarding what we can expect from them.
I checked my earnings dashboard, like you suggested. Late payments did happen, as I thought. I have a number of them. 2012 - 2014 was the worst period for day late payments. I think you are talking about just the last two or three years, I was talking about since they introduced the Hub Ads.
I think Hub ads were initially the 29th. That was when my first payout was (April 2012) then they switched to the 28th. My May 2012 payment was also on the 29th, but there is a note saying for payout from the 28th.
Interesting. I was paid every 3 months or so during that time period and they were always on time. Guess I landed on the good months. I've always used Hub ads over Adsense, not sure if that matters or not.
Regardless, there is no recent pattern of payments being late when the 28th fell on a Sunday. I wasn't receiving regular payments in 2012.
In the 12 years I've been writing for Hubpages, the past two years are the only times I've been paid late, and I've been receiving regular payments every month during that time period.
The 28th doesn't fall on Sunday often, which is part of why this is so confusing for everyone. The last time the 28th fell on a Sunday was 2019.
Either way, I feel that the HubPages team should be more transparent about what we can expect going forward, because this is the third time in the past 12 months (if I have that right) that payment has been late.
I miss Adsense, to be honest.
The payments started out timely, then went less predictable for a few years, then they were regular for a few years, now they are less timely again. All these sites where they do payouts have a habit of paying late sometimes. I don't worry unless it stretches into days and days.
Adsense was terrible for me. It has been going downhill for as long as I've known. I have Adsense on other sites. I wish everywhere had the equivalent of Hub Ads!
Strangely, Adsense has been quite reasonable for me lately. I only get a payout every three months, but it's useful. January was best month ever as almost reached half payout. It's £60 in the UK.
The best I ever did with Adsense was a payout every two months. That didn't last long and was some time ago now. Hub Ads were a big improvement, in my opinion, though even they weren't that great until four or five years ago.
I think the golden age of Adsense was like fifteen or twenty years ago, when Google had few advertising rivals and people just clicked anything they saw on the internet. That was before I was earning though.
I remember that there was a Russian guy on here in around 2011 who had a kind of Adsense link scam going. He claimed he was making a thousand/month. He trapped naive people on his page who were trying to find Google. He was somewhat shady.
Yeah, I remember someone who was challenging people to write enough hubs to earn $100 Adsense per day. Of course, hubs were different animals back in the day. Even staff were posting 100 word adverts for strollers
Aw...
I was joking. They are fine. We have plenty of food and if we run out, there's a small supermarket across the road where I can get some crappy commercial feed as a temporary measure.
I really don't mind waiting an extra day or two for payment if HP/Maven is having an issue, though I understand for some people it is a big deal. What concerns me more is how it just kind of happens without any explanation.
If getting payments out on a Sunday now presents a problem just tell us. If payments will be late for some reason this month just tell us.
The confusion suggests greater issues behind the scenes and I find that much more troubling than waiting an extra day for payment.
Yes, me too. All Samantha has to do is put out a short post saying payments will be 24-48 hours late.
Just keep us informed, please.
She's been active on the forums in the last 20 minutes, but has not addressed the late pay. Very curious.
We're getting to the time of day when the payment usually happens. I find one day late forgivable. But it would be bad to have another multi-day delay.
She's being mentioned here and there. That's Samanthacubison. And bingo that will smoke her out!? Soon, soon an announcement, a solution will be out.
This is what has me worried. The inconsistency is unsettling, and the lack of transparency from the HubPages team is infuriating.
Hubpages can’t pay us because Maven and a busy raising money for new startups—millions of dollars.
It’s awesome to wake up and say yay! I got paid today! I can buy groceries finally! And then think, “Oh, wait. You might want to check your PayPal account first.” And then see that no, today’s another day you’ll spend in the Hunger Games.
My favorite part of what is becoming a consistent breach of contract and trust is how last year there was much fanfare and story: “
We’re so sorry and this is just a one time glitch and no, no, no this is definitely not a pattern of behaviour and we’re so sorry and...”
Fast forward to now where it’s like this:
“You guys get that this is what it is, right? It’s so much what it is, we aren’t even bothering to alert you to what it is. We figure the lack of money in your account an the lack of response on our part is all you need. In fact, why are you here complaining at all?”
Being a Sunday is a good excuse, or perhaps there are only 28 days in February, and the IT guys still think it's January. With that, Samantha, say something!!!
Please don't be rude. I don't review all threads on the forums at once in the a.m.—I have other tasks. I understand that this is stressful for you all, but I am not usually aware when payment will be late.
Even if Maven was raising money for something, I promise that it would not affect payments. Nobody has asked you why you are complaining at all. It is absolutely valid.
I wish I had more information. I asked Matt Wells to look into this. Will update shortly.
Update: Matt says that payments are processing now, everyone will be paid by the end of the day. There was a delay in processing. Apologies!
I am curious: This time around, will Adsense payout first, or will HP?
The HubPages team owes us an explanation. Whether it's because, due to the bank migration, we can no longer be paid on Sunday (which means the pay will be late for this month as well), or it's due to a glitch with PayPal, tell us.
If you would not accept being paid late by your employer without an explanation, don't treat us any differently than you would want to be treated. Maven is making tons of money off of our effort, and yet owes us nothing. Doesn't that seem strange?
This is the third time in twelve months. I'd say now we have a pattern of behavior from Maven, and it is upsetting for those of us who rely on that money so we can pay our bills.
Getting payments declined now because there's no money in my account. I hope we get paid soon here. :-/
Hi. Is there a deduction for payment? I've earned 84$ on my earning program but I've received only 59$. Thank you.

Do others think 50 video capsules in one hub is too many? LOLI didn't start out planning to have so many but my undiagnosed OCD kinda kicked in and I just couldn't stop.I tend to think for users with an older PC with not much RAM they would have issues with my hub. Works fine with my 2 Gigs of RAM...

How many hours a day do you spend on hubpages? I'm addicted...facebook is old news now. lol

I usually get paid on the 28th of the month but it is now the 30th and no payment which is worrying because I count on these payments being there by the end of the month and this one has not been paid. Anyone know why payments are late or is it just me that hasn't been paid yet?
