Thank you for posting this article and your comment Peggy.

I do try to write medical articles in a way everyone can understand. Fortunately, you have been quite healthy other than your hip surgery. I appreciate your comments, Bill.

Linda, I am sorry to hear of your tinnitus and hearing loss. I hope there will be some solution for you in the near future. I am glad you found this article to be interesting. Thank you for your comments.

Thank you, Peggy, for posting this article.

Pamela, I loved reading your article about tinnitus. I became well informed and educated in this arena. My Dad suffered from it after his heart attack and it was a contant complaint from him. Anyways, it was a long time ago. I guess by now there has been more research and more appropriate solutions. Thank you for your wonderful article.

Pamela, thank you for another great article, and Peggy, thank you for sharing it with us so that we can comment. My husband is troubled with tinnitus, and I'm pretty sure it's because of his professions. In the Navy, he was an aircraft mechanic, and as a licensed Hydrogeologist he worked around drill rigs—both of these are very noisy environments.

I wonder how young people who attend live concerts, drive around with amplifiers in their cars, and wear earbuds with the volume turned up full blast will do as they get older? Hopefully, your article will change a few behaviors.

    Pamela
Unfortunately I suffer from a form of tinnitus due to my menogioma tumor.
It comes & goes.  Right ear only because my tumor has an extension that extends along my auditory canal.

It isn't the typical ringing sound...it's more like hearing the crackle of rice krispies after pouring milk or thise morning ir nighttime insects calling out all at once.

Your video says to pull up and away on earlobe to help it.
This didn't work for me, but pulling outward and then down seems to quiet it almost instantly.
I've gotten so used to ignoring it that it hardly bothers me now.

Your article is informative.   Great job

I want to thank each of you for your thoughtful comments. It seems we all know someone with tinnitus or we have it ourselves, Brenda, yours has a bit different type of cause, so it is interesting that pulling your ear down relieves the noise. I have also just learned the problem most of the time.

A very interesting and informative article, Pamela. My wife suffers tinnitus possibly due to her thyroid problems. Your articles are always helpful. Thank you for sharing this link, Peggy.

Great info Pan, and thank you for posting, Peggy.  I have a friend who has this and he complains about it often.  While I have never experienced tinnitus it definitely sounds like something I don’t want to deal with.

Thank you for writing this article, Pamela, and thanks to Peggy for sharing the link. I have tinnitus, possibly from my days in radio, or from thyroid problems, or from genetics, or all the above. It came on so slowly that I didn't realize I had it until one night I woke up and it was gone. Unfortunately the next morning it was back. Anyway the article was of particular interest to me. Pamela, you always explain things better than the doctor does. I always appreciate your articles.
