Alright, since *S* sells and people insist on this topic, can we have a Adult forum where raging hormones n whatnot gets some sense of release for those in need and maybe keep separate from other forums? I totally understand if you refuse, HP team
Girl you talking!! Am dying to get extremely naughty..
There are lots of other forums where you can do that.
I thought you were already very naughty!
"Release"..."raging hormones"?
LOL
..Ummm....there are proper places to "release" those. I'm pretty sure Hubpages isn't one of those places.
It has to conform with Adsense TOS. It's my understanding that HP took off all of its adult content a while ago. It was before my time here so maybe I'm wrong.
I understand what you mean, Nelle I'm just thinking that for those who seem to discuss this topic lots, least have their own forum? sorta, out of the way?
I would imagine there are more XXX forums on the net than any other kind...they are just a click away
...And I'm sure there are other outlets for it besides posting on public forums....
Those are my thoughts too and shouldn't have be part of HP, but ... or call it the Flirting Pit?
Dame - as Nelle said, it can't be part of the HP forums because of Adsense. So if it's not going to be part of HP, and you feel it's needed, why not just start it yourself? Not here of course!
My only concern is that as soon as it's tagged as adult, it'll degenerate from being merely saucy to depraved.
You know not everyone is insisting upon it. I spent some time reading the forums today. And it's just a handful of hubbers. The topics go one forever because 3 or 4 people keep amusing each other.
People should keep the sleazy flirting to their own MSN Messenger chats or Skype. The HP Forum ain't the place for it.
Dear Glen
As a member of the HubPages Elite would you like share a few intimate words with an up and coming young girl writer (me)?
Ops sorry you don't like that sort sleazy flirting do you ...
Huh ! nobody has flirted with me once since I have been here !
Seriously I haven't seen anything in these forums myself that would rate a single X. I have seen a bit of tongue in cheek innuendo, and slightly racy comments but nothing to upset anyone except they are super-precious. Even a hint of that kind of forum would more likely bring here exactly the problem discussed here.
Why is it that almost all comments here are by ladies; and you say men are horny dogs.
OK, I have some old XXX videos I starred in years ago. Who will start the bidding..................
Harvey, you're assuming that Hubbers with sexy female avatars are, in fact, women. With a few notable exceptions, the sexier the avatar, the more likely the Hubber is actually male.
LMAO I know one here 100% is actually a male. Call it blonde instinct.
Marisa,
I'm hoping most are real. Also the style of writing can give it away.
Because men who say stuff like that are called "perverts."
it's interesting to see how quickly people who really don't know for sure are willing to post an opinion. It's also interesting to see how some of those opinions reveal so much about potential issues regarding open-mindedness or lack thereof.
By the way, there are a lot of other places for OTHER, non-sexual forums yet here they are here in HP. Personally, I don't care either way. I have hubs to write (for fun) and a little real PAID writing to do to keep a roof over my head!
Seriously though, with some people, you could cover their avatars and still know who was saying what just from the responses to this topic!
I have a site about aphrodisiacs and it contains a lot of products from from Amazon aStore
You DID notice that SEVERAL of the women who commented totally revealed themselves for the --how do I put this and avoid any bullsh!t?--ultra-conservative, old-fashioned, Victorian thinkers they are, right?
What is Adult XXXX?
I've been into XXX all my life.
XXXX? Pls define it for me...thanks..
XXXX is a beer in Australia.
That no Australians drink. We export it. Not sure where, but someone must be drinking it.
You Aussies are tough! if you can't drink it, I ain't gonna try.
So if XXXX is just a "badass" Aussie beer, why in the hell do we want to discuss it in a special forum room...? Jesus christ, lets just talk about "Aussie" pussy! Now that'd turn me on...:-)
They probably sent it the same place we sent Nickleback
There actually is no such thing I think she just typed one X too many.
Yeah, we are all okay with people attacking each other personally but no flirting or talk of love.
Lord, aren't some of you so "American".
Sex is taboo but violence, blasphemy and verbal assaults are okay, huh?
Some of you need to THINK before you speak!
WSP:
Couldn't agree with you more.
I can speak openly and in public about a fine dinner I had and the violence portrayed in a most enjoyable movie we watched, but if I mentioned that I made wild and passionate love to a woman who was thrilled and satisfied...it has to be spoken about thru pursed lips with a hand over the mouth 'cause I'd be considered to be boorish dolt if my words could be heard by others....talk about hypocrisy?...amen!
Saying we don't like one thing does not mean we're in support of whatever it is that you wish to pull out from between your butt cheeks.
oh dear god in heaven i about spit out my Perrier...
Mind you, I am also an American. I am absolutely sure that "saying you don't like one thing does not mean we're in support of whatever it is that you wish to pull out from between your butt cheeks." No argument there!
First of all, I'm not American. Second of all, I don't think sex is taboo but violence, blasphemy and personal assaults are OK. I find the American prudery about sex laughable.
There's a big difference between flirting and love talk, and X-rated (which is what we're talking about here). And I like X-rated stuff as much as the next person - but I wouldn't start talking dirty at work because I don't want to lose my job. Same applies here at HubPages - some of us don't want to lose the income source.
I was not given the impression that the original poster was truly referring to hardcore porn dialogue.
It's nice to see that someone gets my point about our attitude--not mine but my country's--towards sex.
I try to not cross the lines because i don't want to lose the playground. This place isn't a source of income for me BUT i DO have fun here.
I just think it's hilarious that you can read comments with the avatars covered and KNOW who said what!
Maybe there's a different definition of X-rated in America than in Australia. You may be aware that going topless is pretty normal on our beaches, and bare boobs, butts and swear words are quite acceptable on TV. X-rated, to me, means porn.
I meant I looked at the original poster's avatar and read her original post and just figured she probably gave the forum the title it has to "hype" it. I just can't picture her or anyone in here flirting while using profanity, ya know? It was just my impression of the person and the post I could be wrong.
Sometimes I look at a person's picture and i read something they have written and get immediate impressions of what they would and would not do, know what I mean?
There's plenty of adult conversation here! What are you proposing movies?
Degrading Sex Room: Three doors down on the right. Make sure you grease the keyhole well before you use it - oh, and wipe off the doorknob.
Seriously, the one nice thing about HubPages is that people of any age can check it out. I mean, there's a hub about Disney movies. Imagine a 10 year old girl looking at that hub, and then figuring that it was so interesting, deciding to take a look around. Suddenly, there's an Aladdin/Jasmine joke on this adult forum that she happens to run into.. Well..
The little amount of adult talk here is fine, most kids won't pick up on that, nor would anyone seriously be offended by it. But for something that blatantly says, "Adult XXXX Forum", well, I'd take my business elsewhere.
Well, I have kids, too but I don't let them go online without supervision of some sort. That solves any potential problem for ME without my expecting the village to raise MY kids. I think the title was an exaggeration to get our attention, to be honest.
Who gets to choose what is appropriate and what is not? Who gets to choose them? Who gets to choose those people?
I believe that the Hubpages staff will step in when they feel it is getting out of line. It is their site and we are just visitors.
The people who use HubPages gets to choose. As with everything in life, we all make our own choices, so, if one chooses to agree that such a forum is needed, then another can simply choose to not be a part of it.
The HubPages staff has done an excellent job, and as far as websites go, this has to be one of the best that exists - and that's saying something.
In fact, my old man was looking for some information the other day. He calls me up just a little before midnight, excited that he'd stumbled on exactly what he was looking for. He then proceeds to spend the next hour explaining all the details about what he's learned. Finally, he sends me the link, and to my surprise, it was an article written here at HubPages. Something about roof framing, and had a lot of detailed pictures - either way, he found exactly what he was looking for and didn't have to wade through a bunch of gibberish to get to it. In my opinion, HubPages must be doing something right...
..but still, it's their decision what to include on their site and what not to include. But, I've seen this on other sites: Once one "small" thing starts, it snowballs. Again, that's just my opinion..
*Yoshi raises his hand*
Problem! How would you guarantee that only adults were on the forum? After all, I know I don't want my kids reading XXX material and I know others feel the same.
My point is if anything like that is not fitting for advertisers TOS then it's better not to have it. Then comes point of self-moderation. But i prefer to go with the TOS of advertisers.
Look, if it's just the advertisers you're worried about then DON'T. I'm told HP did a total adult thing before and they no doubt had advertisers then so don't sweat that. If enough people convinced them to change something then they would solicit additional advertising business.
But again, I do not honestly think the ORIGINAL poster had REAL PORN in mind. I think it was just something to get our attention. Who uses profanity when they flirt?
really, I think we can all go back to writing hubs now.
Posting naughty tidbits in otherwise passive threads is all part of the titalation I believe
I found if administered correctly strictnine does wonders for hot flashes , so maybe other hormones would benefit too.

Has anyone else noticed a serious drop in quality among the Question portion of HubPages? For the past several weeks, nearly every question that is featured in the "my account" section has been ripe with misspellings and just contain a general lack of worth in my opinion. I feel the...

Whenever I open the forums, I see countless threads by the same people, many of them unanswered or with only a couple of comments. I would love to see a limit on how many threads the same person can open daily. I often have to go to page 2 or 3 to see what else people are...

I am really tired of reading forums that have interesting titles but were written some time ago. I posted about this last week, but now have a suggestion that will help people decide whether they want to read and/or respond to such posts: PUT THE DATE BESIDE OR DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE...

Since there's a place for suggestions...What about an option for starting a thread and inviting specific people to it? Public and Private threads, in other words. That way people could debate a topic without interference, work on a hub project together...other things I probably haven't thought of...

I've been a member of many forums in the past, and they all had a thanks button for each post in the forum and each comment made on the post. I would LOVE to see this added to the HubPages forum!! First of all as the original poster you could just thank the people who replied to...
