   I find it extremely odd that the co-founders of Hubpages are so emotionally detached from the sites past and will seemingly shut down the site without any fanfare, rather than doing a classy powerpoint of the sites history and some of their former staff, photos of their first office, etc.
   
   Presumably they once had a lot of passion for the site, and now can't muster enough emotion to put any effort into a proper send off.
   
   I suspect the last message we see will be a simple one like "The Hubpages Forums are now closed to new messages and will be deleted in the near future" and posted by this account:

    This forum is just prolonging the inevitable I suppose! But, in all honesty, I'll never get over this!! Getting to a point... finally, when positive things were happening for me at HP and then...

    Well seems we're still here.
    It's 03.45am overhere. Can't sleep, too damn hot. Way too hot for the month of May.
    So I thought to take a look in the HP forums and there you all still are.
    I don't mind if they leave it open forever. At least we can pop in and say Hello once in a while..

    I suspect everything on HP is being reviewed/audited until the powers that be decide to pull the plug. We’re nothing more than digital assets to them.

    I don't think these forums would be terminated soon. The final communications from HubPages/TAG stated we can "leave" our articles on Discovery for people to read. That seems to be the case. The forums are part of the HubPages architecture. I doubt HubPages or TAG has any resources to spare to pull these forums down.
    
    Besides, TAG's share price just plunged, again. They probably have more pressing matters to attend to than removing the forum, which by the way, is full of important official statements and positions.

    It's 3.00 am overhere and I just had to pop in before I go to sleep.
    I'm a night owl, I don't have a fixed sleeping/awake rythm. I can easily sit here till dawn exploring the internet, listening to music without getting tired, and I can easily fall asleep at any moment during daytime.

    I joined Medium in February and exhausted myself writing a flurry of stuff... it felt good just to write and submit stories. Work and life are keeping me from doing a lot of writing these days... plus, it's summer. :-)
    
    Medium has its own challenges, and the powers that be don't seem to care. Their so-called Partner Program is broken; they can't afford to pay anyone, and I have heard more than a few stories of very accomplished writers being turned down when they applied to join the program. I have to think Medium is trying to protect what little money they have to pay their longer-term Partners at least a pittance of their former earnings.
    
    Medium should look at HP as a cautionary tale and fix things before they, too, disappear.
