It took a while to grasp the patience needed to wait for the first Google payout (lol), but it is worth the time invested once you receive the first payout. It took 13 months plus one day to reach so it took an additional month for the payment.
The limit to reach is $100.00 so I expected that would be the amount, but since my payout amount was much higher by the time Google cut the check I received a higher payout! I was very surprised by this and excited. I am now also extremely close to another payout.
I am mainly posting this so the new members to Hubpages and those who are anticipating their first payout will see that eventually you will reap the benefits of writing on HP. And like I have seen many others say that the second payout always comes much faster.
My best advice to newer members.....Read, read and read Hubs from other members. Learn from their experience and take to heart the advice from those HP members who have been here a long time. And of course, have patience.
Congratulations on reaching such an awesome milestone! I'll catch you soon.... lol
(I just missed out this month by $2.)
That is brilliant Michael! I am so pleased for you. With only 26 hubs you have done really well
In the UK the threshold is £60 and I have been waiting so long (after hitting £60) that by the time the check is cut it will probably be closer to £100. It is so true what you say, you gotta be patient. I suppose if I was bringing in a min of £60 a month easy then it wouldn't be so bad but hey I need to write more if I wanna do that
Well done Michael Hope it keeps getting better from now on.
Nice post Michael. Congrats on getting your first payout!
Congrats, Michael! Like so many others, I'm still waiting for my first payout, but it will come.
Congratulations on reaching your first pay out! I am glad you posted this as an encouragement to others wondering if it will every happen.
Thank you everyone. It was awesome to finally get the payout in hand!
13 months and 1 day ? too much time. hope i do better, joined recently
Congratulations I've been here at HubPages now for 2 months and I've only made about $8, but slowly does it I guess. I can't wait till I reach that amazing milestone again, well done!
That's actually not bad going, believe it or not.
It does build up over time though. I made payout in July, after 11 months. Unless things go really pear shaped, I should make payout again at the end of this month, three months after the first time.
Congrats! On to the next pay-out? Anything fun or special planned for the money?
Congrats Michael, may your future payouts be in less than half the time or quicker, than your first
Congrats! HubPages is all about patience and diligence. I hope you enjoyed the process of writing as much as you're enjoying the payout! I bet the next one shall come along much more quickly
I appreciate everyone's responses.
And I have come to really enjoy writing again since joining HP. Before I joined I had not written any type of "articles" such as we do here on HP since High School. lol around 30 years ago. Since HP I have regained the joy for writing I had way back then.
Congratulations! I am new on HP so it is exciting to hear when people reach that first payout. Looking forward to mine. Great job!

Hello there fellow Hubbers!I am just so happy that I decided to share my joy with you! I recently received my first payment from Hubpages (after 9 months of trying to reach the $50 threshold). I know it sounds a bit lame since it took me that long just to get that much. But I already felt really...

It really does take off. I got my first adsense payout at the end of June, and I've just hit the £60 mark for July, so another payout this month. That's not all hubs, because I set up my own blog a month ago, but hubs is most of it.

I had hoped to make my first payout this month, but realized it was a stretch as I would have to once more double the previous month's earnings. I went to bed needing only a few more dollars and hoped to make it today.Checked adsense first thing this morning (of course! ) and had earned 3...
