Horror Film Reviews: Cabin Fever 2
Cabin Fever 2
Cabin Fever 2 is the disgusting sequel of the quite brilliant for the time original Cabin Fever directed by Eli Roth who also directed Hostel 1 and 2, this is more of a what happened next but let's just show the blood and gore and be done with it.
The story...who cares? it's a shambling mess of a film, although it passed an hour or so, I just wanted it to end.....
This sequel doesn't have the vision of the first film and it's heart and soul has been ripped out and replaced with this thing that resembles a continuation of the original story, but doesn't quite get there, but for fans of gory moments there are aplenty in this horror movie when people get the flesh eating skin disease from drinking contaminated water and it just so happens to be prom night, what rotten and quite awfully bad luck to spoil some teenagers fun.
Watch as peoples skin falls off and then projectile vomit blood everywhere, I'll admit this film made me sick, even though I'm used to bloody horror films, this one just did make me feel queasy, because the idea of an unseen flesh eating virus seems quite plausible and is quite frankly the buzz of modern horror, who is infected?, don't know yet, maybe we'll wait awhile and see whose face is going to blister and then hurl blood all over the place!!.
I prefer the first Cabin Fever film as it had a certain spark of something that made you want to watch it all the way through, this supposed sequel just had the blood and the horror part, but it was all missing the characters that we should care about and a directors vision that should be present, buy it to complete your collection or rent it just to see what it's like, but don't expect too much from a film that doesn't offer that much except an opening cartoon animation and a closing cartoon ending that just made it seem a joke!
So next time you are at prom night make sure you don't drink the bottled water as it may make you ill....
Watch the trailer to make your mind up....
