I actually love to do both, though most days after working all day in the plant, I want something that is quick and easy to cook. I grill out a lot in the warm months; grilled food is fast, easy and tastes great! On the weekends I like to get a little more involved and cook stuff that takes a little more time and effort. And when I'm feeling really feisty, I'll cook one of my mom's homemade Italian dishes!
I can relate. Eating is always my favorite "hobby." lol I always prefer my own cooking since I am particular about the spices and flavoring. And like you Ray, I started cooking at such a very young age. But I do enjoy a well prepared meal from others at times. LOL, just seems something is always lacking in the flavoring though.
I'd like to say that it is cooking I love most, but to be honest, I LOVE, really LOVE to eat! it is my downfall, actually. I eat while I'm looking for the recipe, while I'm reading the recipe, while I'm cooking, and of course after it is cooked. I can eat sometimes while I'm exercising, even! hehehe
I cook as far as I remember, I still do, and I HATE IT. It is a waste of time, it's a messy business and when you 've finished you have to start all over again as soon as your food is gone. And if it is tasty, it will be gone in a flash!
Eating of course...as long as it's tasty. I enjoy cooking too, mostly because it's a good thing to know, so that you're not dependant on anyone else, or processed foods. It's difficult to constantly come up with something different each day. I sometimes get lazy, even if I have the time to cook.
I love cooking for other people, but I criticize myself a lot when I do. However, I've been told I'm a pretty good cook. Love trying out new recipes. I always tend to enjoy food more when someone else makes it haha. It always tastes better that way!
Eating. I like cooking too, but more as a means to an end. Although if you've cooked something really well, you do feel a warm glow of achievement (sometimes it's a case of "well, at least something in my day has gone well"). And there's nothing quite like eating a lasagne that you've just made, from tomatoes that you've grown yourself.
I know for some, cooking is like a chore, but I always have enjoyed cooking. I lovvvveeeeee food! lol, I call food a "hobby." Thank goodness for high metabolism in the family genes. Nothing like experimenting with food and ingredients & spices to see what you can come up with.
Do you enjoy cooking on an open fire like we do ?!Is it something you enjoy / maybe haven't tried it yet love the idea or are you really just an indoors person ?I am talking about in ok weather etc !If so what is the most adventourous thing you have cooked or made on an open fire ?
Do you actually enjoy Shakespeare plays or did you only read them because you had to at school? We all had Shakespeare forced upon us at school, but does anybody still read or watch the plays since leaving school, and do you think they still have any relevance or literary value in this day and age?...
Do you prefer to cook your own meals or go out to eat?I enjoy cooking evening meals, but too often I hear people complain that they don't have the time to cook. They would rather spend an hour or more in a restaurant. Does that not take time? Which do you prefer - cooking or dining out - and why?
