I actually love to do both, though most days after working all day in the plant, I want something that is quick and easy to cook.  I grill out a lot in the warm months; grilled food is fast, easy and tastes great!  On the weekends I like to get a little more involved and cook stuff that takes a little more time and effort.  And when I'm feeling really feisty, I'll cook one of my mom's homemade Italian dishes!

Seriously, I think eating while I cook suits me.  My Grandpa always told me, "Never trust a skinny cook."

I've been cooking since I was 7 years old. So please...I've yet to meet anyone whose food I enjoy more than mine.

I can relate. Eating is always my favorite "hobby." lol I always prefer my own cooking since I am particular about the spices and flavoring. And like you Ray, I started cooking at such a very young age.
But I do enjoy a well prepared meal from others at times.  LOL, just seems something is always lacking in the flavoring though.

Well...  I don't particularly like eating, and I really HATE cooking.  What I like best is drinking (but it's not what you think:  I could live on coffee and tea.  Actually, I kind of do.)

I'd like to say that it is cooking I love most, but to be honest, I LOVE, really LOVE to eat!  it is my downfall, actually.  I eat while I'm looking for the recipe, while I'm reading the recipe, while I'm cooking, and of course after it is cooked.  I can eat sometimes while I'm exercising, even!  hehehe smile

I cook as far as I remember, I still do, and I HATE IT. It is a waste of time, it's a messy business and when you 've finished you have to start all over again as soon as your food is gone. And if it is tasty, it will be gone in a flash!

Eating of course...as long as it's tasty.  I enjoy cooking too, mostly because it's a good thing to know, so that you're not dependant on anyone else, or processed foods.  It's difficult to constantly come up with something different each day.  I sometimes get lazy, even if I have the time to cook.

Gotta go and make some dinner...

Eating.  I like cooking too, but more as a means to an end.  Although if you've cooked something really well, you do feel a warm glow of achievement (sometimes it's a case of "well, at least something in my day has gone well").  And there's nothing quite like eating a lasagne that you've just made, from tomatoes that you've grown yourself.
