    Hello Everyone,

I was reading some topics on hubbers getting their first payout and it took them up to 9 months to receive from Adsence. I was wondering does Kontera take that long as well. In your opinion, out of all of the afflilates, which one pays more the fastest? Please list the pros and cons for each affiliate. What is the best way of earning income here at hubpages? Thank you all so very much.

Adsense is the fastest/best without a doubt - it takes for ever but 9 months for first payout $100, then 3 months for the 2nd and 3rd -now Im looking at 2 months and getting much closer to once a month.

Amazon is rubbish for me because they only pay non-US with checks

eBay is eratic but is definitly improving as I learn how to right focussed product hub better

Kontera - is currently running at 10% of my Adsense earnings: given that its on the same number of hubs (all ) that is woeful. - I suspect the ads arent well focussed for my topics but I write for Adsense or me or my readers not Kontera. If for one instant I think Kontera is loosing me Adsense clicks it will be off!

    In my experience...

AdSense has the most earning potential and performs the most consistently year-round.

Amazon activity has stayed rather consistently low versus my results on other sites, but that low activity does add up to some meaningful earnings over the course of a year.

eBay seems to go up and down pretty wildly from month to month, but the good months are strong earners.

Kontera has the potential to do really well, but it takes that rare combination of timely topic, dead-on keywords and search engine traffic for a Hub to have good earnings from that program.  I have one Hub that did stunningly for one month and now I have to figure out if I can duplicate its effectiveness on other Hubs.

Adsense definitely.  Kontera revenue is small, however, if you have another website or blog that's popular and you put Kontera on that as well as adsense, you will see your Kontera revenue increase.  That's what I did and I definitely see the Kontera money going up--but nothing to write home about.

Like the other hubbers, eBay is erratic for me.  I can make good money from it one week and basically nothing the next week.  Amazon doesn't do much for me at all.

I'm not glad to hear other people aren't making money with amazon, but at least I know i'm not alone.  I've posted numerous links  my articles that go with the topic but haven't had one click - except for the one I made when I ended up buying a fountain pen from the link I was posting!

I wonder how long I can afford to keep posting amazon links? =]

I make several hundred dollars a month with Amazon and it outperforms adsense by some margin.

It is a waste of time just throwing a capsule in and praying some one clicks on it. You have to write around the product.

    As you can see big_smile

My earnings in the beginning months with Kontera was better than that of Adsense when i started out. Still i might take another 3 months to reach payout in Kontera. As long as kontera ads does not require any additional space i am happy to have them on my hubs.

Adsense so far is working best for me- I am about to get my first check (yes Lissie just about 9 months too-lol...) I have made about 1/3 that amount with EBay, Amazon and Kontera each, but see them starting to do better since I am placing more relevant key words for products. I have good hopes for all them actually. Just takes time and learning, learning, learning!

I reached my first payout amount last month and FINALLY made some Amazon sales this month.  Made most of them just in the last week or two.  A few more and my commission will go up to 6%.  I'm hoping that Christmas will take care of that within the next week or two.

I am doing much better with Kontera than Adsense once things started to pick up. Adsense banned me a year ago so I dont have any choice. I get more clicks with Kontera. It makes me wonder about adsense.  I have no luck with Amazon most ot fthe time.It may be becuase people are tighter with the money these days.

My first kontera payout came faster than my first adense one, but the overall click/earning ratio is much lower than adsense.

I got my first Adsense payout the end of November but hit the $100 mark in October, so it was right around 10-11 months. Already though I'm halfway to another payout. I'm not sure why it goes faster like that, but I'm glad it does.

Amazon isn't even close. Kontera is about even with Amazon. I guess if I wrote to the product like Mark says it would help but I do that in my freelance copy writing and Hub Pages is sort of where I get to write what I actually care about. I guess I could try throwing up a product article and see how it goes--I think I will. I'll report back if it's a wild success.

Does anyone understand why Adsense accelerates like that?

No, but I've noticed the same thing since I hit my first payout in November.  I'm happy about it, mind you.  I can only assume it's a combo of aging hubs and more of them.  We keep adding more - and it's Christmas, which has helped me in Amazon tremendously.  I disabled Kontera last month.
