Anybody else having a crap start to the month?

I know that its summer, the weather is nice, and we have just had July 4th in the states, but has anybody elses earnings and traffic taken a nosedive for these first 5 days of July?

It happened to me last month as well for the first week, and I ended up smashing my monthly record, so I am not worried... just curious.

It seems that almost all topics have nosedived for me, but the biggest is - naturally - my soccer hubs. With England and the US out of the competition, most English people are turning their backs to the rest of the tournament.

It is hard to ignore completely though.... a very good day sometime soon wouldn't go amiss!

Anybody else feeling the slowness? My traffic stats are very low despite me being a featured author right now, and they include my 'Hubpages Earnings Disclosed' hub which is getting a couple of hundred views a day!

No, at my main site June Adsense was up about 40% from what it has been running in the past year.

I never expect much over a holiday weekend, but Adsense was actually decent this weekend.

Same here. I actually have more than $1 daily earnings for 3 days in a row, which includes the week-end. Right now, however, my Adsense earnings still read zero.

Well June was fantastic for me too, just the last four or five days.... sure its just a lapse...

I was expecting a traffic and earnings drop from the holiday, but it didn't happen.

Actually, this month is starting off way better for me than June did - had an $8+ day yesterday (AdSense) and I've sold several Amazon products already and overall traffic numbers seem to be up...I sure hope it keeps up like this or even better!

Sorry to hear yours is slow, Ryan - yet I'm sure it's still way better than mine!

Yes, mine are down some, but I think it is because of July 4th holidays!

Yep, total and absolute nosedive in traffic for me too.  Like half of normal.

Yeah now you mention it, I made myself a cup of tea and left the teabag in, because it tried to hide and I nearly choked on the twat!, then I slipped on a banana skin the other day, of all the things to slip on, a comedy banana skin!!!!

Oh, you meant traffic....just a normal weekend slump for me and now they are going back to normal slowly!!

I see big drop, which I attributed to the US holiday.

Nope, my month is starting well, but it is 4th of July weekend here in the US, and many people are outside instead of on computers.

lmao big_smile at waynet's crap start to July. My kid had a great time playing in the garden on 1st July, ran in, gave me a big hug, only then did I realise his arm was covered in bird poo sad - that was a pretty crap start to the month.

Traffic went into freefall because my Vuvuzela hub had been seriously propping it up, and now the world has realized a vuvuzela is just an annoying piece of plastic, rather than some sort of magical trumpet that will spirit your team towards victory.

Now, with your sad stories of rubbish traffic, you have given me renewed hope that traffic will pick up.

May was great for me and I thought that maybe at long last Hubpages was working for me. But June was terrible and July so far is even worse. How depressing!

May was my best month ever, then June was less than half the amount. July is still making it's mind up....

My June was worse than my May as well.  July looks to be shaping up a bit better... unless real disaster strikes, I should actually make payout this month!

Congratulations! I got my first cheque a month or so back, so you've got there a lot quicker than I did!

My adsense has increased substantially over the last several months with each being more than the last.  Payout made on all and more each month!  Hopefully to continue.

That's really encouraging, seeing as you've got more or less the same number of hubs as I have.  Do you do any backlinking?

July so far is on par with what I did in June. Organic traffic is good, Amazon sales are up and my AdSense is good, although just slightly under June's performance.

Traffic was slightly down (10-15%) over the weekend for me, and earnings were slightly below average.  Looks like traffic is trending back upwards today.  Mine is mostly evergreen content; a bit of it is seasonal though.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that has seen a dive the last few days! We didn't go anywhere for the 4th so I've been spending some time in the last week or so trying to improve my keywords and such, as well as getting a few links out, and then had about a 40% drop in traffic so I was very worried that I'd somehow offended the search engine gods tongue. That said, the handful of Adsense clicks I did get were all $1+ each, so I can't complain there smile. Today I see my traffic creeping back up, it's pretty much normal now and about 10%-15% below the temporary spike I had when I started playing with my hubs, so must just be people enjoying their long weekend and time away from their computers.

I figure it's all a circle - and ebb and a flow - it'll come back around again but yes, I do think it is summer and holidays and vacations have to factor in somewhere.  But it's early - it'll bounce back!

Forget about the crap start to the month...traffic is back up, and people are spending money! Amazon just made my month in one fell swoop, from now on it's all improving on my old numbers big_smile.

Last month on Amazon I had over 1000 clicks and only 4 small sales.
Today, I have a total of 100 clicks this month and made a sale on a medium sized item smile Woo-hoo! I love when things look up smile

Nice one!  I'm getting more Amazon clicks (about 30 so far this month) but they're not really converting.  Have made a total of about $5 on Amazon since I've joined.

I haven't checked. I try not to bother with it till about mid-month and then maybe end of the month. I typically only check once or twice a month, some months not even that.

I'm not sure if mine has decreased lately, but my average monthly earnings have been increasing.

Yeah mine was crap last week, this week it has started picking up in terms of high value clicks

A full recovery today it seems!

Some great traffic, decent earnings, and a few items closer tob breaking that 6.5% Amazon threshold again! (last month I reached it for the first time).
