   You don't need to worry about signing up for YieldBuild. The ads on HubPages are already optimized by YieldBuild (which is the parent company of HubPages). The only thing that you need to worry about is making sure that you have associated your HubPages account with AdSense (and any other affiliates that you want to add). You can keep track of your affiliates by clicking on "my account" at the top of the page, and then choosing the "Affiliate Settings" link in the menu on the right. It appears that you have not yet approved the association between HubPages and your Google AdSense account. (You should have received an email about it from Google.)

   OK I'm 5 weeks into this and have what appears to be a great beginning but I suspect I am doing something wrong, I don't see in solid proof of money making. suggestions etc are welcome

      sometimes it takes couple of months to see REAL MONEY.  It takes relvant writing, and regular updates.  SWEETIEPIE has made some valid points, read her reply.

      Hi The Sandman, i like the fact that you acknowledged your good beginnings. I will advise you to focus on your "passion" which is witting Hubs and then try registering with Google ad sense. All other things will fall in place. thanks

      You need to write about topics that can be monetized. Whether it's Adsense (suitable Adsense ads that are within context with the content) or appropriate Amazon products and Ebay listings.
      
      I've looked over three of your hubs, and they come more across as personal blog posts rather than meaty articles.
      
      But it does display the fact that you can write unique original content. Which will go a long way towards getting indexed by Search Engines if you start to write topical content.

      Sandman, you make money when people click on ads that appear on your Hubs.    Adsense tries to put relevant ads on your Hubs, but if you are writing personal reflections, they'll probably be scarce! You're more likely to end up with irrelevant ads that won't appeal to your readers.
      
      If you use the Amazon capsules, you can paste in the ASIN codes for specific books on your topics.  That at least ensures you have some relevant ads! (but watch, if you're not in the States, they will only pay you by gift certificate). 
      
      It does take time, even if you pick the right subjects - I wrote about 50 Hubs in very short order after I joined, but it still took me three months before I earned anything.

   I wrote for a year before I even considered applying for Google Adsense.  Basically during that time I had not even thought about it, but when I came back I applied and was accepted within a few days.  I put in lots of my free time when it comes to writing hubs, and I all I can say is pick a niche and really put in your time to produce quality cotent.  I probably spend at least 50% of my free time on my online writing, crafting preparation, and blogging ventures, so making money with this is not an overnight thing.  I take all my own pictures for my hubs too and write quite a bit about crafting, which has resulted in a decent about of Google image views.  I am really big on taking your own pictures and writing captions, and writing at the examiner has confirmed this.  One of their tutorials said articles that contain pictures with relevant captions have a tendency to sometimes rank higher with Google.  Of course I have far more search engine views than Google image views, but having origianl and relevant pictures does help to make your writing more interesting.

   hub pages is not a place for making fast money. it is all about passion and interest. Only few people are able to earn here even part of their  bread. To the best of my knowledge no body here is able to make really big money.
   
   Of course, this is a great place for knowledge exchange.
