I love the rain. The world seems to come to a stand still and everything is so quiet and peaceful. I love walking in the rain because it gives me time to think, enjoy the outdoors alone and I love how the rain comforts my soul.

Yes, I love warm breezes. And there's something comforting about a rainy night when cosily inside.
        I like thunder storms, too.

    I am totally with you.
I LOVE rain. I live in a climate where it is unremittingly sunny 10 months out of the year. No summer rain. No spring showers.
The only rain we get is in the dead of winter. My favorite season!
Snowfall can provide a similar soul soothing as you describe.
Unfortunately, that peaceful quiet "first snow" often overwhelms with snowplows, piles, icy sidewalks, traffic tie-ups, etc.

Rain of course being my first love but snow comes next without a doubt. I live now in southern California and I cannot express how I miss both.

I love the sun until it gets too warm, then I long for a cooling summer breeze. I love the rain when it comes because all the plants will grow better. I love thunderstorms even more! I love the snow because it is so pretty to look at. I love the wind because it freshens everything up.

Unfortunately not, but I do travel a lot between Scotland (wet and cold) and Spain (hot and dry). Usually just the highest mountains get snow here (Spain), and it hardly ever rains (because the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain!)
Funnily enough there is a snow warning out for my region tonight. It's cold enough...

I don't know what are you saying about my beloved Scotland. Every time I was there it was sunny, hot, sometimes windy, never cold, maybe a little wet... Scotland isn't cold, Scotland is mild. Hmmm.

Shock, horror - it's not raining there now, is it?

OK, I am lucky from Kentucky! I was in Scotland twenty-thirty times at least and  always had great weather there. Sunny, mild, windy and sometimes wet - this is great for me. Sorry. But I'm not living in Scotland and this is the difference.

There is a saying where I live on the river clyde.

If you can see across the river it,s going to rain.
If you can,t it is raining.

Mrs. JB -- I am a Mass transplant as well.
It took me a long, long time to get used all the sunshine here in CA. Afer awhile I did begin to notice that there are 3 seasons here. The trees do turn colors in the fall -- it's just not as intense as back in MA. Winter is the rainy "season" which it appears is now over. It's the last day of January.
Still can't get used to it being 70 degrees in January!

Sunny... I live in the pacific northwest of the U.S. where we have 2 seasons basically:  rain (winter) and sun (summer).  This winter is killing me, it's been sooooo dreary.

I miss the snow in the midwest.  My kids have only seen it a few times, makes me sad for them.

    It's beautiful here though.

I prefer long warm nights, with the gentle gulf breeze blowing in my hair and my limbs bare and tanned, taking a nice long walk on the beach listening to the waves forever pounding the shore, passing couples frolicking beneath their beach blankets in the sand.

But ask me again come the hot summertime and I'll likely tell you something different.

I'm a rainy day girl. I like to see the water come down and clean everything. I even wanted to move to Seattle when we had to relocate for work. My husband wasn't having any of it. He says the rain depresses him so we chose to try AZ. Now it is sunny almost all the time in the area we live and that depresses me! lol Go figure...

I much prefer the cooler weather, especially rainy days and storms, I enjoy watching the lightning and hearing thunder. They clear the air and leave it smelling fresher. Cool sunny days are great too, it's when the temperature rises that I feel stifled.
