    Dear Mr. Hubpages:

It has come to my attention that Mr. SirDent  did NOT receive his customary Ms Simone Smith replica bow.  In fairness to all and for the SAKE of humanity will you please make sure to send a bow off to him immediately.

Thank you in advance for taking care of this truly humanitarian matter,

    davenmidtown

i reject the notion that SirDent has a bigger bow than me!

My bow is one of the biggest around.. in both length and girth.

It is a manly, potent bow that has been the envy of my village for years.

It depends on the genre I am working with. Yes, when I write from the top of my head, I can be wordy. But with a poem, quantity does not always equal quality.

Usually start with a germ of an idea..and am constantly editing and revising....to make sure it flows well. So...though Poe's "The Raven" and Coleridge's "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" would have enough words, some of "Rilke's" most moving poems are only about 50 - 100 words.

Being that I also worked to find digital images that are my own, I think I did very well, and the work has been appreciated by lots of my friends on HP, though not totally eligible for a contest prize only in that they are less than 500 words.

BTW...are any of you who see the word count issue these days parents of children living at home on a daily basis? I home-school my daughter, have a part-time job, and participate in a weekly writer's group (live!)...I also like to spend some time away from the computer at least 1 day a week...especially outside in the sunshine, working in my garden. :0) So, when I do write, it is usually either very early in the morning and very late at night.

    Hey y'all!

Since the contest is now closed to entries and the judges are busy deliberating, I'm going to un-sticky this thread, but I WILL leave the contest winners thread sticky, so be sure to check it on Friday December 2nd to see who the final winners are.

It has been SUCH an honor to see such amazing Hubs get published during the span of this contest. I can't wait to see who wins!

Jason will be announcing the winner on Friday since I'll be gone in Tixkobob. Keep a lookout!!!

Hey Poets... such a tremendous contest and fantastic poetry, it is so very encouraging to see that so many people took the time and trouble to participate.

I really appreciated being given the opportunity to be on the judging panel and I would like to express my gratitude to all at Hubpages;- to Simone for such a brilliant job, to my fellow judges and to all the poets... :-)

      Viva the poets !!!
