Wow.  Both of your submissions are great. You are very talented.  Your photo pics and lay out were also great.  I am new to this topic.  I entered something for fun and it was great to express myself.  Now that I read your submissions, I think I am way off but I enjoyed it anyway!

If not - oh well!) It's actually the first of 3 pages I'm doing about photographing Paris, so thanks for the opportunity to publicise it. Cheers. Alun

Unfortunately, HubPages removed my short poem "Fandango" because it had already appeared in print and online elsewhere (as part of a previous "Year of the Poet" national celebration). And that actually showed me how dangerous it is to publish any material online that one may want to re-publish in the future (either online or in print)!

So I wanted to tell all the nice folks who commented on the three poems I posted so far, that I'll be removing them at the end of the day tomorrow. Poetry is a much different animal than prose... it can't be restricted to just one public display, and it can't be "substantially rewritten" between its online airings!

I'm so sorry to have to do this, Simone... because It was a truly awesome idea!!

Well it turns out that the first, and only so far, entry I did (a poem) ended up six words shy of meeting the 500 word count. I guess I got heavy handed in editing the discussion about the poem because it was 500 words at one point. So I have updated it today to be over 500 words.

          1. K9keystrokes profile image83
K9keystrokesposted 12 years agoin reply to this

In each photo capsule you will see at the top of the window (when editing)a drop down option. Among those options you will find "thumbnail". Add as many photos to the capsule as you need, and when you save it, the first image will be full or half or quarter size as you have chosen, all others will be thumbnail size until clicked on.
            Hope this helps! cool

Here's a little something I knocked up. Strictly speaking it's not a story as such, but I considered it creative enough to stuff in the appropriate section.

Although it appears to consist largely of threats towards the judging team - it is written with my best intentions in terms of getting the five hundred dollars.

Mark-interesting choice of words: did you mean 'knocked out'?  B/c in our country there is a slang meaning to 'knocked up' and that is getting a girl pregnant.  smile

OK- I read it and did this:   lol   lol   lol

Ah, knocked up, yep, same in my area.  But also meaning to knock something together quickly, shabbily, without much care - ie. the opposite of crafting an excellent piece of literature.

Anyway, you did the LOL thing - thanks.

You are both right - knocked up as in getting just any girl pregnant casually,  a shabby act without care smile

Just to dwell on this, rather than my excellent award winning article... if I had said "knocked out" that also has an alternate meaning.  To "knock one out" is a particularly vulgar expression in certain parts of the lower levels of society - ie. mine.

To Avoid ANY Confusion always consider this:

That of the 2 options, although both can be contributed to vigorous actions, only 1 of those options actually comes as a result of the vigorous use of the fist! smile

Please revisit your Hubs and adjust the contents to assure they are substandard.. or at least remove the 'contest' tag.

I have purchased a number of items that while require payment towards the end of the month, so your assistance in this matter is appreciated.

      Thank you

GreekOne: I think if you look at the very very very very small fine print at the bottom of the contest rules, it says something like 'Any entry that is not written by GreekOne is immediately disqualified'.

So I think you've got a great chance in this competition!

Seriously though - there are some seriously good poets and writers on Hubpages - it's amazing to see the quality of articles and I feel humbled when some of these brilliant writers take the time to comment on my work!
