I've come to place another poem at the feet of the all-powerful gods of HubPages. May it be received well from this Temple Forum, built by Simone.
I pray for gentle rains upon my crops, plentiful fish and game upon my table, and mercy upon my soul. . . oh, and that prize stuff, that would be pretty cool too.
This may be my last entry. Though now, with time becoming short, I can't seem to shut my muse up.
For those of you who've looked at my other postings, well, this one is a wee bit darker.

This was intended to be a photo submission, but writing the narrative about the meaning of Christmas to, and the lovely customs that the locals have of the Amalfi Coast, Italy where one year I spent it with friends who live there, somewhere along the way it became a short story instead, so I've used only some of the photos.  I hope you enjoy.

ercolano what a beautiful place to spend a Christmas. The pictures are wonderful, I sure wouldn't want to be that pig going to slaughter to decorate the head table:-)  You look like  your having a fun time, lots of smiles and laughter I'm sure. Italy, Spain and France is on my bucket list. My Mentor and now my Muse lived in Italy for 17 years and worked for one of the Duke's of Bronte, he managed the vineyards and rode it mostly by horseback, this was back in 1940's. He was a Brit from London who went to Italy when he was 19, learned Italian fluently, he often sat with me in his den in Montreal. We would share a glass or two of Muscatel and a smoke a cigarallio. He told me he was often  the only Mr at the dining room table. He sat and dined with the Duke and Lords who visited the maniachee, excuse the spelling. My Mentor was a scholar, speaking of curse British, French and Italian fluently. His mother was from Lauzanne and his father was a Brit, thus why he learned French as his mother spoke it often and his father was all fluent in French as he frequented France often with his work as an engineer. So my friend my heart skipped a beat or two when reading this delightful hub. Thank you for the wonderful share.

Thank you Saddlerider1, how interesting, quite the muse, wouldn't mind sitting round that table with a glass of brandy, I love aristocracy, those I've met (while living on Lake Garda once (and have to see where I put those photos) wonderfully eccentric.  Thanks for the kind comments, I'm putting up the real pictures of the area in the next little while for a photo entry.  Trying NOT to get too sidetracked by writing a story about them though!
