How concerned are you that the world will end on December 21, 2012? If concerend, what are you doing to prepare for this day?

End of the world party, of course!  I've already sold some tin foil hats from my hub, so I suppose I'm not the only one planning one!  smile

It seems to me that only a loser would be saying the world will end on December 21st. Look at the facts. Even if they are right, they lose. They nor anyone else will be around to gloat. However the clever money is on the, "It's not going to happen" camp. If nothing happens you get to say with a certain smugness. " I told you so." If we all die on that day well it won't really matter, will it. So no I won't be preparing for an untimely death. Ill just carry on telling my ALREADY SCARED KIDS, "IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN."

My only preparation has been to tell my bosses, when they ask me when I'll finish the projects on which I'm currently working, that I'll be done on December 22.  That way, if the world does end on the 21st, I'll never have to turn them in.  And if not?  Well, I still have a few months to complete the work.

I've dug an extensive network of tunnels beneath my future apartment complex without the owner's knowledge and stocked it with five year's worth of canned goods. The cost meant I was only able to eat Ramen for the past three years, but it was most definitely worth it. I've also taken the liberty of rounding up the neighbor's cats and dogs in secret- one-by-one-and storing them in a kennel in the tunnels so that I have access to fresh meat during my stay underground after the advent of the impending apocalypse.

I have also kidnapped several attractive young men who are awaiting me beneath ground, so that I do not get bored. I do believe I've thought of everything.

I've also taken the time to cast various protection charms that I got from Harry Potter on the tunnels. Just in case it helps to keep people out.

It seems such a shame that a woman as beautiful as you are, should have to dig all those tunnels, and damage your nails. Give it up girl go back to the sun and just enjoy......... LOL Good fun comment.

Probably not much meat on the cats, I'd go for some Vietnamese pigs if I were you!
      Don't forget the ketchup!

I would kill to have been born with your foresight. I may be playing catch up over the next few months, but I'm definitely going to use your ideas as a template for my own disaster preparedness plan. smile

Don't forget to stock up a supply of condoms, unless you are planning to repopulate the world by yourself.

LOL, all the comments I got are hilarious...

Depending on how long this whole 'end of the world' thing lasts, I may attempt to repopulate. We shall just have to wait and see.

Vietnamese pigs? I'm afraid my neighbors don't keep pigs as pets, unfortunately. I gotta take what I can get.

not concerned...end of world , prophecy, 2nd coming , 10th coming etc are part of human psyche since long...world is much older than human beings and myths like this keep coming...yes humans as species can fail to adapt and become extinct in process but dont think it would happen any time soon...

Actually it was not the end of the world they predicted. It was the end of the partyyyyyyyyy. for all those who thought they meant the end of the world. Now that's gotta be deep

I neither believe it will or won't be the end of the world.

Most people are on one side of the spectrum. They either believe the world will end in some violent way or they think the complete opposite.

If the world ends; it will likely because of two reasons

    (1) Wars start over religion and politics and we destroy ourselves from nuclear bombs and weapons of mass destruction.

    (2) Natural disasters. These are actually real. And it is technically possible that natural disaster could hurt us badly. Losing our power, communications, damage to buildings etc etc etc.

However even if there is an "end" -- I do not believe it will be abrupt

Dehydrating the meat before stashing them in your tunnels would cut down on the pooper scooping. Jerky could be made in several flavors: terryaki, chipolte, Texas chili, honey bbq, etc.

There's people out there who actually think that the world will end on 12-21-12. Hmmmm How do I exploit this?

    1. mischeviousme profile image60
mischeviousmeposted 12 years agoin reply to this

Write book and lead the gloom and doomers to more gloom and doom propaganda.

  12. cluebbert profile image61
    cluebbertposted 12 years ago

No exploitation intended. With the world in its state politically, physically, economics, etc... I am more inclined to believe the book of Revelation from the Bible is fulfilling its prophesy.(I don't believe the date can be predicted.) I was just curious if it was "life as usual" or people considered this a "life event" and if there were preparation activities folks were engaging in. Was looking for other viewpoints other than my immediate friends and family. Curiosity no exploitation.

The world is following the route of human habitation and habituation, there is no divine reason, only human arrogance and psychosis.

Right or wrong, I am not concerned at all. Why would I be, I have no control over the future. So, as much as I don't want it,  if I have do die on 12-21-2012, so be it !
