OK, so just for the heck of it, I just Googled my Hubpages profile. I'm on the front page multiple times! I use the same screen name on more than one web site and found that I'm quite famous! Tee hee!

    OK, now you try it!

Oh by the way, just got on Google front page for my HubMob hub on making chain mail from coat hangers. Thanks to Princessa for pointing that out.

Also, do you include your profile name in your keyword tags for each hub? I haven't seen this done very much but have noticed some people do it.

Why would I do that? Who in heck would be Googling "lrohner"????

I see your point, lrohner. You might consider coming up with a profile name that is easier to remember.

Rather than doing this, why not Google your keywords and see where your top HubPages are ranking.  Whereas you might Google your own name, chances are your readers aren't!

(But, I must say, Googling your name and screennames IS a lot of fun!)

I agree that if you are trying to make a little money with your Hubbin' that Googling keywords to your top hubs is the way to go. I've been thinking that I could improve upon the way I use those affiliate programs and key words.

However, I think there is something to be said for developing an "on screen presence." Think of your profile as your personal brand. That's why I use the same screen name over multiple accounts. If you are using all the different media tools out there to draw traffic to your site, it makes sense to use the same screen name on all of them (provided your content is compatible.)

Plus, Googling yourself is also useful in discovering who is "quoting you" and using your info on other sites. Hopefully that isn't happening.

I understand that! Best wishes in developing your brand, then! That's awesome, Wannab!

I wrote a program that automagically googles hub keywords and reports how many are on the front page. I have one beta tester; if anyone else is interested in helping me test, please respond to through my profile. You don't need any computer programming knowledge, just an interest in hubbing and keywords.

    Thanks.

Thanks, Princessa! I've been bugging my husband for a while about letting me do some hubs about his unusual interests. I'm hoping to do a few more in the near future.
