I've placed addl moola into my UITF or stock investments. Farm harvest in the next one week, so extra income for me
Hi csmiravite,
Extra moola is always good!
There was a 10 year old girl in So. Korea who took a CPR class. After she did there was a man who needed it and when he was better she phoned the fire dept. (which happened to be where the girl took the class). When they came, they said that he was cured.
The girl began telling her family and everyone that they should take the class.

Okay Craig I will go check it out.
I looked it up and it said "Web page is not available". That error said to search on Google and your profile came up. I do not know which Hub to read.

Dear Craig,
Please be mindful to not self promote here in the forums, as HP will penalize you or possible be banned. Only mentioning such because I would not want that to happen to you.

In regards to the CPR note from S. Korea, long ago, we mandated CPR where I worked. The employees were not happy about a mandate. After the class almost 48 hours later a beloved dog of a co-worker needed CPR and the owner was able to save the life of the dog.
Not as great of a story about the girl from S. Korea but simply another testament to helping others.
It is just the same to save an animal's life as ahuman's life. We are both living and breathing on this earth
Hello American-Choices,
Aw, I am so glad a dog's life was save. Thank you for sharing.
The good news is that we got some needed rain. The fire danger has been HIGH. We had a wildfire last week about 30 miles from us that was started by a spark from a hammer hitting a nail. Thankfully, the water bombers were able to extinguish that fire.
Hi colorfulone,
Oh, I am so glad you got some much-needed rain out there! I wish we could send some of our rain your way, as we have an over abundance of it going on.
I hope more rain is to come your way.
Blessings
Is has been snowing here since yesterday, and we have about 1 1/2" on the ground this morning, with one more day of snow to come. We needed the moisture, and it does not matter if it is rain or snow to me.
We want to keep Smokey Bear happy!
Blessings to you, Faith...
Oh, I am so happy about the snow providing a bit of relief! Yes, Smokey Bear needs to remain happy!
God bless
Hi paradigm,
That is good and I hope true!
One of my nieces just had a poem published in the Appalachian heritage journal. It was about her great aunt Mildred from Memphis, who was a raving beauty and apparently on a first name basis with Elvis. Mildred died at the age of 42 back in 1968. My brother, his wife and his daughter (my niece) just happened to visit her grave in Memphis on spring break last week, which is neat because my niece's poem about her great aunt was just published.
Here is a news report with a video to cheer you up for the day. :-)
https://youtu.be/d5a6HdpLrxE
Hi Kevin,
Thank you so much for the report of good news to cheer up all!
Bless you
I am glad that you got a joy out of it.
When they said they could not find the lady I knew it was a parrot. I still had to watch the rest to find out. LOL
I agree on the bad news stuff, I barely read the newspaper anymore because it brings me down. But I recently came across a story about a little girl in America who has a disability and nobody in her class would go to her birthday party, so her mum posted a link on Facebook and hundreds of people from her town (including celebrities) turned up with gifts, it was very touching to see.
That is heart touching. The little girl's mother did good, and all the people who celebrated her birthday. That kind of news chokes me up.
Hi Giz,
I read a similar story about a little boy who was so looking forward to all his friends from school coming to his party, and not one came, but mother posted on Facebook, and then the Town showed up ...may have been the same story? I felt so bad for the little boy, but then so happy there were those whose heart were touched by his mother's Facebook post and so many turned out.
I read a good story last week, the Timberline High School in Idaho for their Senior Prom, they invited the Senior Citizens to join them. It was so sweet. Here is a quote from it:
"And have fun they did. As “Uptown Funk” thumped over the speakers, Grace danced with 18-year-old Timberline senior Machiah Baker, her face holding a smile alive with joy which, for a moment at least, bridged the generation gap between young and old.

Oh, how wonderful, ArtByLinda,
That one sure brings a smile to one's face. Thank you for sharing!
I finally achieved my goal of getting all of my hubscores above seventy! The lowest is 71 now. I expect to see drops, but for today it makes me happy.
I set my next hubscore goal at getting every hub above 75 but it's so close already, I'm setting it a little higher and I'll shoot for 80.
Mind you, this hasn't resulted in a lot more views or anything; it's just slightly relieved the part of me that sees hubscores as grades of some kind. I am aware I'll probably never reach the "grades" I'd be happy with in classes, but at least seeing nothing with what my mind sees as an extremely embarrassing grade should help.
Wow, Kylyssa,
That is good reason to be happy for sure after working hard to get all of up over 70! Hmm, now you have me thinking I might need to do the same thing. I never could figure out a good score to try to get one's hubs up to, but 70 sounds like a good start. Then reset your goals to a bit higher then higher.
Everyone should try your method and you looking at them as grades is interesting and if it motivates you to strive for a higher score, then that is wonderful.
Thank you for sharing your good news here this day. At this rate, all of your hubs will be up close to 100 in no time at all!
Can I make a suggestion here which I think will help make the world a better place. When you get up in the morning, or whenever, you start your day with a smile. I will explain why, though I am sure you have a good idea anyway.
I think the smile is the best thing the human race ever invented. You start your day with a smile, which is good because it sets your day off in the right frame of mind. Then whenever you meet someone you give them your smile. Some will accept it, some may not. Some will pass it on to others. For those who do accept it then, however briefly, their day will be brighter.
You can spend all day giving away your smile to anyone you meet. People on the street, people at work, the poor harassed shop assistant, anyone. If you give your smile to someone who is having a bad day you will be responsible for that person having something nice happening to them.
And you know what. At the end of the day having spent all that time giving your smile away you may be surprised to know that you still have the same smile you started the day with. How about that for the gift that keeps on giving.
Oh, and when you get to the end of the day please be careful to put your smile somewhere safe. After all you are going to want to take it with you tomorrow.
Hi BigBlue,
I am smiling all the while reading your post. I am a big believer in smiling and that it I contagious and brightens others' day when you give them a smile. Plus, smiling reduces stress too.
Lovely post. I hope you had a day of nothing but smiles.
Thanks Faith. I usually do collect a lot of smiles in my day. Having said that I give away a lot to start with so it is nice to share.
And you are so right about it reducing stress. It's funny that when you get all these articles and books about dealing with stress none say just smile. Yet as advice it works so well. Probably doesn't sell many book though.
My best friend's MRI showed her tumors have shrunk! Now, to keep her alive until the assorted medical advances catch up.
Tell your friend we all have our fingers crossed, makes typing difficult but I am doing it, and we hope there is more good news about it.
Oh, how wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing such awesome news about your dear friend, Kylyssa!
On April 12th, in Strongville, OH, someone phoned police when they saw a dog in a car at a Wal-Mart parking lot. The police came but simply kept an eye on the dog as they waited for the owner.
----- Wait. It gets better. ----
When the woman came out they (the police) had her sit in the car - with windows closed and engine off - for several minutes so she could know what dog went through. When they released her, she said she was fine but did not look it and told that next time this happens she gets citation.
Dogs feel worse than us; when it is 70 it feels something like 90 for them; and worse as heat goes up.
Here is a funnier video: Dog loves food - he does not even want to hurt it;
https://youtu.be/EDwyQX01dXk
Hi Kevin,
Oh, I am so glad the dog is okay, and I am sure the woman realizes now! I did not know that dogs feel much hotter than we do. Wow, I live in the Deep South, and now I am thinking of all my dogs present and in the past in this sometimes heat index weather can get up to 110 degrees, but of course they were and are not in a car!
LOL, thank you for sharing.
My good news is that I arrived home alive after so many detours off the Interstate due to a bad accident or something which backed up traffic for miles and miles. And so I had to travel roads that I am not used to traveling in the pouring down rain, but I made it home! Thank you Lord!
Thank God that you made it home safely Faith. I hope that you were coming home from work or out for something important. It is not good to drive for fun in bad rain.
I am so used to the 'tornado watches'. A few days ago we received a "tornado warning". Luckily nothing happened.
Hi Kevin,
Yes, thank God no doubt. I was trying to make it home from work. I have an hour commute into the city and back home each day during the week. That is why I am so late in commenting here in the evenings. It rained a bit today, but then the sun came out. I left work and met my daughter for dinner in the city, and so was late in arriving home again this night, but for nice reason.
I hope you had a great day today, and thank you for your concern. I am about used to the long commute and usually enjoy it, especially in the summer when the days are long and it is daylight until 8:00, and then coming home to the peace and serenity is wonderful. We left the city seven years ago due to such bad crime, and we love living up here.
The days are sunny until after 8:00 now here where I live. In the summer the past has been thunder and lightning storms most days - and nights. So I prefer spring over summer.
We've been having some nice sunny days this side of the pond, though today is a bit overcast.
I remember when in my mid teens on a wintery Saturday looking up at the dark clouds above me. That day there was three layers of clouds making it pretty dull. Anyway at that moment it just happened that there was a hole in each layer and they all lined up to let me see a beautiful blue sky. It reminded me that no matter how dull the day I was not far from a blue sky.
Hi BigBlue,
Thank you for sharing that beautiful memory. Yes, if we all remember that very thought, no matter what we are going through, the sun is always shining ...once the dark clouds move.
Oh, today was a most beautiful day. Perfect weather. I wish every day could feel so glorious with the sun shining but a comfortable temperature without any humidity. I wasn't going to go out at lunch, but I am so glad I went outside to enjoy just for a bit, the lovely day. My commute home was so lovely as well, without it storming and dark. The sun is staying later and later each day, and I love not having to drive home in the dark!
By the way Faith, what hour do you drive home?
Hi Kevin, well, I usually don't leave work until 5:30 p.m. or later, just depends on what's going on at work. I did not leave work today until 6:15 p.m. ... So arrived home just a bit ago. TGIF!!!
I really have grown to love the drive into work, as it gives me time to pray along the way, and sing along with my music, LOL, and by the time I get to work, my mind is ready to get at it. The only time it is not enjoyable is when there is terrible weather or a terrible accident, and traffic backs way up.
I have been traveling to and fro for over seven years now, and I always ask the Lord to send His angels ahead of me to clear the way, and so far, I have not been in an accident yet. There have been some close calls, but I give Him all the praise for my safety in my travels.
Faith, I thought I'd stop by and pass on the "Good" news that I'll be posting a new hub with some statistics about earthquakes like we were discussing a few days ago. I've found some very interesting information. I hope I can post it by tomorrow night. I thought I'd pass that along since it was suggested that a hub be made with the information.
Oh, that is "Good News", Chris! I was hoping you would do one after my question. I will open my question so that you can get that credit about writing a hub from a question. I am so looking forward to learning of all about what you have found.
God bless you real good. That IS good news, believe me. I appreciate you more than you know.
I hope you are enjoying a lovely evening. I am thankful to be home after being on the road for two hours in the rain.
This is a delightful thread. Thank you for sharing. I need some good news! I did just this morning see my HP score is now a minimum level of 85. I have been working hard at this for weeks and have spent hours, perhaps days cleaning up and publishing the hubs that were below acceptable levels. This is hard to do on a part time basis. I am finally there and now aiming for a 90 or higher.
Hello again, American Choices,
I am glad you enjoy this post. You have been working hard and it pays off. I was just at 93 and bam ...dropped to mid 80s and now! I am not quite sure what to think, as I have never been dropped down so far. I guess I need to follow your plan now too being it is working.
Bless you
Here is something which is cute but it is real and may be a problem. I do not know about dogs.
https://youtu.be/6QslV86odco
Awee, so cute ... I know how much I don't like having the hiccups. Thank you for sharing.
It does not even know that it has them. The owner (or whoever filmed that) is the one.
I do not remember the last time that I had them but I believe that I simply subconciously told them to go away.
There is a simple trick that I did not believe until I tried it and it works, especially if you have those really hard never-ending hiccups that are so painful: Just take your right hand and your middle finger over your left ear and then put a little pressure behind the ear. In just a minute, they will be gone. I tried it, skeptically, and it worked.
this is just my personal good news.Yesterday I reached 20,000 views. It took about 8 months to get the first 10,000 but only about 3months to get the second 10,000. I does get better.
Congrats Catherine! You are on a roll there. You are right, it does start out slow, but then starts gaining momentum. I just had my three year anniversary, and I am up to almost 81,000.
Looks like you are doing so well. Keep up the good work.
Great news! #7 of my offspring just had her second baby boy born Thursday. We closed the jewelry store down for the day, so I could be in attendance. She gave birth quietly, quickly, and with composure, dignity, and grace. Right before he was born, she got on her hands and knees and gave birth like I did to my 4th child. She even "caught" her own baby, who was born in the sac.
It was a great experience, and we are all relieved that it went well. Mother and baby are fine. I finally got to meet grandchild #28, face-to face!
Oh, my, Shades of truth!!! What an incredible blessing to have 28 grandchildren. Thank you for sharing of your beautiful experience here and it is always good news when a sweet little blessing from Heaven above arrives in this world.
You have blessed me here this day in sharing your beautiful news.
God bless you and yours always
Glad to hear everything went well Shades of Truth. 28 grandchildren. You could start your own soccer team. :-)
Not going going to be short of hugs on your birthday.
We were glad everything went well, too! Thank you, BigBlue54!
Congratulation, Shades. How awesome !
I helped my daughter-in-law when her daughter was born and also helped my daughter when her son was born. There is nothing like being right there to welcome a new grandchild into the world.
Thanks, Phyllis. You are right, about welcoming a child into the world. I have been at a lot of the grandchildren's births. At one of them, I was actually in the "kiddie pool", holding my daughter from behind, while she gave birth.
Every childbirth is so different, and each new arrival is precious.
28 Grandchildren, wow that must keep Grandma busy buying presents.
Congratulations!
This video has some humor in it but you must look closely it before you play it and near the end while it is playing. If you missed it, then play it again.
https://youtu.be/UteEIaejNN4
Thank you, Kevin, that is cute Hahaha. I guess if the trick is still somewhat there, then in the owner's mind, that is good. Yes, most dogs would have scarfed it down without hesitation.
I believe that there is no trick. The owner knows about the treat on the table and that the dog eats it when the owner turns his back. lol
So funny, Kevin. What a sly dog she is. Thanks for sharing that.
I have not been able to clip and thoroughly brush my little Pomeranian since my back surgery. Yesterday I was able to pick him up, clip his fur short, brush him really good and he looks marvelous today. He is so energetic and carefree to get all that extra fur and undercoat off him. Marvin is a happy camper today.
Awweee, Phyllis, how adorable. Thank you for sharing the good news of you being able to tend to Marvin as you would want to do so! Sounds like you are healing well, slowly but surely.
I hope you and Marvin are now enjoying a peaceful Sunday.
We sure are, Faith. Thank you so much. It is gorgeous outside and as soon as Marvin awakes from his nap we will go out for a little walk.
Congratulations on your feeling better Phyllis.
The good news is that Pacquiao lost, but he thought he won because Mayweather was boxing like a chicken, To all Pacquiao fans including myself, this is just a joke to brighten your day!
Thank you for the joke. Laughter certainly is a good thing. I used to be a huge boxing fan growing up because my dad loved boxing. Well, he loved every sport known to man LOL. I can't believe how much money they win! I'm sorry your guy lost the fight. Did you go to the fight?
Seems I have forgotten about my Good News post here ... so I will share the good news of enjoying 10 days off in a row, when I have not been able to take leave time (for just fine, and not illness) in over a decade or longer! So, I am combining the next two weekends with the two state holidays on the two Mondays, and so I am getting 10 days off in a row with only having to use four days of leave for the in between days between the two long weekends! Weeee
Plus, the weather is about as gorgeous as can be!
I do hope others still have something positive or good to share in this life. If so, please share with all!
Peace and blessings always
