What do you think about that?  No Paul on Idol?

    I think it's Paula. smile

I'd heard rumblings last year that she was leaving.  Think that's why the other lady was brought in last season, to make the transition easier for the viewers.

I won't miss her too much.  I always liked Simon and Randy better.

Kara gives excellent critique and intelligent advice. I'm surprised they waited until now to replace Paula.

Yep, I think that Kara offers a lot more advice and understanding to contestants.  I think Paula is making that she "chose" to leave but I think that it's Fox that wanted her to leave...what do you guys think?

The show was a distraction from her drug parties.

I don't know about you all, but I think by now, American Idol has become very passe. I liked it at first, and watched it pretty religiously for the first couple of seasons, but I honestly don't really care for it anymore. Maybe getting rid of Paula will spice up the show a bit. Who knows--maybe I'll even start watching more than just the finales again! ; )

Chris1/2, I would agree and hopefully this will spice things up.

I could really care less personally.  I watched Idol for like two or three seasons, whenever carrie underwood won, then quit.  I didn't like that Paula cried so much.  Maybe this new person will offer something new to the table, but I still won't watch it.

She already does. She was on for the whole of last season. She knows her stuff. She can write. She can really sing.

I haven't watched Idol much over the years, just catching the audition process and seeing the truly woeful embarrass themselves in front of an audience of millions. Someone should slap their parents for giving them false hope. I love when Simon Cowell rips into them.

After that I lose interest. But this time I stuck around. My wife was enjoying it and Kara's addition made the Top 12 (actually 13) part of the show far more intelligent and palatable than previous seasons.

I wish her well. I worry she does have a substance abuse problem and needs to get her life in order. Hopefully she will find other creative outlets in her future.
We'll see if AI is better, worse or the same without Paula.

Four judges was too much last year.  Took too long.  If she is leaving that will bring it back to three.  Much better.

i agree - 4 judges were too many, besides Paula had a way of staying in the middle of her reviews on the talent

I agree, three judges are plenty...plus, it was time for Paula to get help smile

I liked Paula , but yes she needed help.

Kara is ok ,but you know (gosh that got irritating) she copied everything Randy said...so she's not that much better IMO.

I only watch right near the end ,the hype is nausating and so hyped!

Here's my humble opinion on Idols - IT SUCKS ASS. Big hairy ass! I hate it. Phoniest thing ever to grace TV. I would rather watch a Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy than watch that garbage! All the judges are fake and should all be removed - except maybe for that Englishman, who's at least decent enough not to always wanna kiss the contestants ass every damn time! Another show I hate is Don't Forget The Lyrics! Geez, I puked my guts out when I saw that. I practically block it on my satellite. Who even comes up with these phony ideas! I would rather watch the Kardashians than watch that piece of bull. I know I know, great big exaggeration, that show sucks bigger ass too. But at least you know you're coming out for the phonies! smile

It would seem that every thread you post the idiotic "I am about to ruin this thread" you are ruining.

      So kindly stop the stupidity.

No more discussion from me, I'll just be using the report link.

I am about to ruin this thread is not idiotic. I am about to ruin this thread is a sentence.
