   I think the only thing they have in common is Faith. Faith is the very foundation of religion. Without it there is no religion.

      That is a great answer. Sometimes religion is also referred to as faith. This makes sense and is a deeper answer than the one I thought of.

         I have faith in things I can see or actually steps of growing experiences. Like up or down and sideways.
         
         Much of Religions is base on fear and blind faith for the few to control the Masses. I can do better than that on an individual and ethical bases.

   Except for some baby religions like atheism, all of the other religions teach us to treat well with others. spread love in humanity. These things are same in every religion like Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and etc

   All Religions are human interactions, without humans they do not exist, religions are regional hence there being so many, "God is love" the usual discussion is to define God, instead define Love for your self, ignoring the sexual aspects, the interaction between parents and children, the fans love of Pop group or the football team they worship. consider Why people believe without distracting yourself with what they believe

   Religion is simply a practice of getting God's attention and God's favor.  True Christian faith is about a personal relationship with a moral God who is the Creator of all we see.  Plus a God who can empathize with us because His Son (also God) lived among us and still lives awaiting our presence.  God is a jealous God because of His great love and sacrifice for us.  In religion everyone is responsible for getting to God not realizing that God in the person of the Holy Spirit is walking along side us in order to bring us to Him.  He also is not controlling (religion IS controlling) but merely seeks to show us the way in a corrupted creation to live a good life and inherit a place in Heaven.
