Nearly all religions have an all powerful Creator that their followers don't trust. If they trusted their Creator there would be only one religion. If they trusted their Creator they would look out at creation and say "Here is the work of the magnificent Creator. All is well.", but they don't do that. They look out at creation and say, "The creator should re-create creation to suit me.". Many atheists also have the same sentiment and say "The laws that govern physical existence aren't good enough because others aren't as I want them to be.". Nearly everyone agrees that whatever made us should have been more "selective" when doling out the free will. Nearly everyone condemns the source of their own freedom by condemning what others are doing with theirs.
I believe that all religions have to have faith in order to believe in the religion in itself.
Hinduism is proven, Buddhism is proven, Jainism is proven, Sikhism is proven.
Proof denies faith and without faith religions are nothing. Nor have Hinduism myths, Sikh myths, nor Jainism mythology proven facthaYour faith does not REQUIRE proof.
Read the books of religion and what believers are doing and you will get the answer that the thing common in all religions is PEACE for Everyone and what believers of all religions have in common is WAR for Everyone.
I think all religions have in common the restlessness of man - because man has fallen and is trying to find his way back to that perfect state he was in.
All religions have a way to salvation and perfection.
But Jesus is truly the Way.
That they all, being all nothing but fragmented projections of the truth, point towards the truth;
Only to blind truth itself, as a result of the projection of the fragmented self, that doesn't understand its own role in the whole process of creation.
while the fragmented self longs for Devine love, its fear to receive that love, and its ignorance about how to find it, makes it fearfull.
In search of security, the ego starts projecting all kinds of things, which resulted in the religions as we know them today.
They are all addictions designed to keep you pacified and scared. A great tool for controlling the masses while picking your pockets. If you have the courage to look at and consider your own God nature, you will never need religion again.

One underlying concept for all religions is the basic tenet of goodness.
Faith and Myth:
http://hubpages.com/hub/Religious-Myth- … -the-World
religions share ten basic features; animism, magic, divination, taboo, totems, sacrifice, myth, rituals, rites of passage, and ancestor veneration.
All religions believe in something greater than human kind. All religions tries to answer what is the purpose of human life, what will happne whn we die.
Best wishes
The fundamental teaching of all major religions are founded on Love, tolerance, brotherhood, peace and non-violence. The ways may differ but the goal is one only, i.e., reaching God. In a way, we can visualize God as a summit point and the religious paths start from the base from any point. In the base, the differences are patent but as we move up and up towards the summit, the differences tend to diminish and at the summit, every difference vanishes and there is only ONE.
First I would like to state that I don't consider satanism as a religion. I do believe that all believers believe in God (Higher power) but have differences in opinion about what is factual and what isn't. But that's not the common bound. The one common bound that we have is that we all have the same enemy................which is satan. We are so busy fighting against one another about our differences in our belief systems that we have and are presently doing the work of the enemy which is to destroy.
All religions I've studied share a high regard for,
* Humility
* Responsibility
* Love
* Faith (perfect confidence)
* Forgiveness
* Lack of attachment
They also seem to hold in low regard, ego, as defined in Buddhism -- the heart of selfishness and separation.
They all have a belief in a higher being, people just call it a different name in each religion.
The Divine Wisdom is the root of all religions of the world including those that are extinct. Periodically, according to the needs of a people or country, the teachers of humanity give a teaching that is necessary to lead humanity in the direction of evolution. This later turns into a religion when the followers organize themselves into a group. Recently I learned that each teacher comes along to remove the misconceptions that develop over time about the teaching given by the previous world teacher. I put the above ideas for consideration because I find it makes sense.
All religions have rules. And all religions have a good group of people.All religions believe in something by faith.Mr. indigenous, I hope my words can help you with your question. Religions are a lot of work.
All religions are fine, point towards good and have so many good suggestions and practices which are common.
They are all used to explain something that was not explainable at the time of their creation. Also they are looked at as moral guidelines.
Faith. They all believe in SOMETHING therefore they have faith in that.
They are all created by man.
They all expect financial remuneration for their services.
Those who run the religions are rich.
They all have secrets.
They base their beliefs on their interpretation of historic events and scriptures.
They are compelled to make religion complicated.
"If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough"
Albert Einstein
Faith, beliefs, "God/s/". It's the same bottom line faith in all religions, but with different rules and systems. I think its insane how there are so many religious wars, when the two opposing sides have a common belief in faith; people can't accept that other people have different views, but to react to the difference with violence is too extreme.
I think that the main thing they have in common is a belief in something. They have a group of people that believe in the same principles. I think it's difficult to get so many people to believe in the same principles.
Teaching us to respect one another. Giving love and care for others. Living in peace with one another. It is all about goodness in us and we should be bond as one united people.
The Common thing in religions is they "teach us to help each other" and "To Stay away from EVIL".
Snacks, if their goal is to keep people coming back daily, weekly or even monthly. Really successful religions generally offer liquid refreshments, libations or spirits to wash the snacks down with. Although some religions have questionable taste, when it comes to providing a snack that is edible. But short answer...snacks.
I believe the most common thread between all religions is the golden rule. Treat others how you want to be treated.
I also believe this to be the most important rule to follow in life, no matter what set of beliefs you may hold.
Love. This is the Highest law.
Put a different way, we can also say man's quest or inner yearning for happiness or peace, called by different names
Finally they have or usually have a focal point or head like a Messiah or something tangible and Concrete like the Earth or Fire.
On a lower yet necessary level, they have rituals, dogmas, priests called by many names, scriptures which naturally includes morals and etiquette.
They all have saints and men of God called by different names. Indeed they all have a goal called by different names. They all have followers.
I think there isn't in common, there are many defferent religions ,religion Cultural are different .
It provide a guide on what is good and bad and it teach values and morals.
All religons have this in common:
Follow a moral code
The moral code varies according to the religion. But most say to not murder and to be peaceful.
They all have a set of standards that must be met to be good enough to achieve eternal life, peace, self-actualization, or whatever the ultimate goal of their religion is. Except one: Christianity. It is the only religion based the concept that you don't have to be good enough to have a relationship with God. You only have to do one thing: put your faith in Jesus' grace.
Well the common thing in all religions is that, people share ideas, feelings and experiences with other peoples and celebrate holidays, special occasions with each others.
All Religions have in common is-
All human beings are equal and respect everybody without any discrimination.
If we strip all man's ideologies of what religion is what do we get? A human condition we all have is we live in this finite world. We look for super natural conditions to prove you can believe in something out of this finite comprehension. There are two different behaviors an individual can choose. we can choose a self centered or selfless behavior. The concept of God is hard to conjure. You cant see the so called thing you believe so the idea of faith comes into play. We develop the concept of what we believe and it becomes distorted with other peoples interpretations. So then I encourage each of us to keep stripping away anything that causes our interpretation. The purest form of religion has no agenda except bring us all together in perfect unity. It is a human condition for us to fear or to doubt. Our Flesh craves to separate and our spirit craves to be one. (unification). This is such a predicament for the fact we live and breathe and are human beings. Our first inclination is to function in our everyday human condition rather than operate in the spiritual realm where we are all the same in the purest form. When I function in this so called infinite realm where there is no defining beginning or end this is pivotal point where our finite mind rejects or accepts the concept in which causes division or unification. I choose unity as our flesh craves division.
I did not study all religions of the world and I don't have the intention to. Therefore, I do not have the right to answer this question nor do probably all the people who did answer it.
All religions claim to have an affirmative answer to all of life's big questions. Religions claim to know things such as why existence came into existence, what the purpose of living is, and how to live one's life and so on. Religions in general are able to provide comfort for people who are lost and religions also help make for a coherent society.
I feel it is doubt. Although each religion has true believers, everyone knows they cannot all be right. Therein lies the doubt I fear.
Best wishes.
Graham.
All religions have a higher power. A supreme being. Some religions have one God. Others have more than one.
Betty Hinduism has one God: Brahman. They speak of Sanatana Dharma (Truth is One) They have Avatars such as Krishna, Rama, Buddha. We have Christ. They have gods and deities like we have angels and archangels. Sorry, if your thoughts are unrelated.
Buddhism and jainism is atheist religion, in jainism believing in god is blasphemy. Hindu Mimamsa and Samkhya are also atheist
Pratyush
you are exhibiting total religious intolerance. This is a frequent failing of atheists therefore you yourself have a lot in common with atheists. Epic fail bro!
Oztinato,
I'm just telling Betty that her answer may not be correct as there are many non theistic and atheistic religions.
If stating fact is intolerance then we better live in meadual Europe not in modern world.
And FYI I do not believe in God.
Eight key elements of religion: 1. Belief system/worldview
2. A community of believers
3. Central myths
4. Rituals
5. Ethics
6. Emotional experiences
7. Material expression
8. Sacredness
All religions advocate peace and harmony. They also provide avenues where followers can seek spiritual enlightenment and refuge from the hustle and bustle of life.
In all the religion, the message peace is common, but at the same time no buddy follow the religion properly, it means no buddy live the life peacefully.
All Religions set control and bring us outside of ourselves to find a savior who doesn't exist. We are all unique aspects of this amazing energy source. No religion will tell you that. So that's what they all have in common.
We are all this oneness and we are all connected by conscious energy. The closest culture to depict this is in Eastern (India) cultures.
Many religions are in all over the world, but all have the same of kind of similarities as far as its basic is concerned. The Golden Rule of all the religions in common is that 'we should not hurt others, and bear a grudge against people'.
The basic thing is every religion teaches us what to do and what not to do. Love, honesty, kindness and forgiveness are the basic thought of all religion. But these two are thoughts are expressed in different ways. This is makes each religion different from the other.
The Golden Rule is found in many religions. Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, is not an idea that is unique to Christianity. Check out the Golden Rule site on Wikipedia for a wealth of information and resources on the topic.
Other than that, I would say that religion provides explanations for difficult questions, such as: What happens after death? Religions also provide a general, uniform moral code of ethics for their followers and most claim their source of wisdom as having come from a God, Goddess, or multiple Gods. Some religions worship nature. Buddhism does not reference God, to my knowledge.
