   The Returner..which is a little known Japanese movie that takes from movies like The Matrix, ET, Back to the Future, Men In Black....and it does a great job of using time travel as well.

   Actually it is a 60's sitcom titled It's About Time. Funny show lasted one season. I was in the 6th grade and the theme song was very catchy. Info at wikipedia. I think the same producers as Gilligans Island.

   I'd have to go with Somewhere in Time as well -- my mom, sister, and I spent a lot of time discussing a particular paradox in that one when I was younger .
   
   Other than that it's hard to say. Back to the Future was definitely entertaining and I've watched them all several times, but I have to be in the mood for light-hearted fun. Millennium was also very good, though the film quality might annoy people a bit now.

    I'll second Back to the Future, and Donnie Darko. The first is just time traveling fun. The second, much more of a 'thinker.'
    
    For a second dicotomy of 'fun' versus 'cerebral' let me add Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Primer.

    "The Final Countdown", a 1979 film starring Kirk Douglas as the captain of a modern aircraft carrier that encounters a mysterious storm and is transported back in time just prior to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. A good story, minimal special effects, and some cool footage of naval aircraft and carrier operations.

    I have to say "Primer."
    
    As soon as that movie ended, my friends and I declared that we absolutely had to see it again, just because one viewing isn't enough to comprehend it completely.
    
    For the next three days I couldn't stop trying to figure it out.
    
    It was so exhausting that we still haven't seen it again yet. And it's been close to six months now.
    
    Probably the most brilliant movie you'll ever see for such a small budget. But hold onto your mind.

    Somewhere in Time..I never grow old of that movie.  I think of it everytime I'm at the DMV getting my picute taken.  She had a look in her eyes that showed true love.

    My favourite would definitely be "Back To The Future", can watch over and over again and not get bored with it. There was another series "Quantum Leap" if I remember correctly, that was good too.

    We had this movie that we taped off TV and watched repetitively as kids called Time Flyer (according to imdb.com it is also called The Blue Yonder) - I think it was a Dreamworks special or something? It was about a kid who goes back in time to save his grandfather from dying in a plane crash when trying to make one of the first solo trans-Atlantic flights. It was SUCH a cute movie and I have really fond memories of watching it with my siblings growing up!

    By far, a movie called "time after time" with Malcom McDowell and  Mary Steenburgen. It's about H.G Wells himself who builds the time machine back in 1893 and goes to the future - 1979. That's when the movie came out. it is available on you tube, by parodycentral2200. Watch it. it's good.

    Back to the future-all the movies were great.  Well at one time I had a crush on Michael J Fox.  Then there was Time bandits and the one where the Astronauts go back in time to King Arthur.  A Sound of Thunder-where a guy went back to prehistoric times and disrupted his present so they had to go back in time to fix it.    For television shows Quantum Leap and Doctor Who.
    For books, Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent (River of Time Series) written by Lisa Tawn Bergren.

    Timecop as it is a great movie that shows how time travel could change things and why if it was possible it should be regulated.
    
    Back to the Future is another great set of movies that shows what can go wrong with time travel.
