Do you agree with today's greatest christian leader?
The pope is the most powerful christian leader at the moment and probably the greatest because he leads the majority of christians on the planet. Almost everyone knows about the Pope. I recently saw that he was encouraging people of different faiths to get together for mutual respect and understanding. Do you think that this is a wonderful idea since it teaches people not to discriminate or judge others because they have a different religion or no religion? Do you think that other smaller christian sects should study these biblical principles from the pope and do likewise?
A Christian is someone that is a follower of Christ. Christ said that He is the door to Heaven. The Roman church says that you must be a Roman Catholic to get to heaven.
Jesus said that there is one mediator between God and man. The Roman Church says that there there are many (Mary, the "saints," and the Roman Priests).
God says that the Bible is the standard for all of life. The Roman church says that traditions of men are on an equal level authority with the Bible.
The apostles taught us to repent and then be baptized. The Roman "Apostle" (the pope) calls for the baptism of children who have not repented from anything.
The Bible says you are saved by faith through grace, not of works. The Roman church and its popes have taught you are saved by your good deeds.
How do you call the pope a "Christian" leader when he teaches so many things that are against the direct teaching of Christ?
If you really want to help people conquer prejudice and every addiction (including the addiction of sin) in their life, hear God's Word and not the false apostles of this age.
I do not agree. Jesus is the most powerful Christian leader of all times. He was, He is, and He always will be. The "power" lies in the hands of God, not man. If man thinks he can obtain or posses the "power", he is sadly mistaken.
Men will fail and let us down, always.
God never fails and always keeps His promises, His Word.
The only way to heaven is through God.
The only way to God is through Jesus.
The only way to Jesus is through acceptance of His free gift, repenting, and living a life that is honoring to God.
Nice people should get along, but will not all end up in heaven.
Christians are Commanded to be nice to All people, no matter what.
Men will continue to try to change God's Holy and perfect Word to allow for their selfish ways. Men will always fail.
God will never fail, and never has.
I agree with the actions of the Pope. Religious tolerance, mutual respect to other religions, understanding the diversity of other nation's culture, traditions are all the need of the hour and whatever small measures taken on this is welcome.
To the bare minimum, at-least if there is an acknowledgment that there is a world beyond Christianity and there are religions other than Christianity and there are religions which are older than but still being practiced is there - will itself be a great achievement !!!!
ps - I am not a great believer of religions and religious activities (if it were real, the world would have been really much better place to live !!) - but if any particular religion claims that are the greatest religion on earth, then it makes you cringe !!
This is definitely a great move by the pope and will probably make more people interested to join the catholic church as opposed to christian sects.
Good ideas, but study from the Pope? Why not from the Bible, instead?
I agree with Todd. Christ is the most powerful Christian leader. I haven't heard of any pope walking on water, unless you count Peter. And he only walked on water for a few seconds, but never knew he was pope of anything.
We do not know what God thinks! We do not know if God thinks one individual is following Christ, even though he may call himself a Hindu or a Scientologist. Who are we to judge anyone? Bravo, Pope! Now, let's have some miracles like those of Peter and his fellow disciples.
If you know any history you would see that there were more than 200 individuals before christ that did miracles, had followers, died and were resurrected after 3 days. Christianity just had good marketing. In my opinion Christ was enlightened like many people in this day but his words were twisted and manipulated into what we see today. Christ spoke of non dual believes, the one in everything, he essentially spoke of the same thing as Budha did, just in different words. Hell isnt a place somewhere, hell is right here right now in you because your mind is torn between so many aspects and believes that you suffer.
No disrepect intended, but NO, "the pope" does not speak for me, in my interests, or represent me or my thinking.
I most certainly, do not, blindly trust him. He is not " Jesus"...........he is not.

Some believe the Papacy figures prominently in the Prophecies of Islam and Christianity - and that it plays a major role in end time events. What do you think about Catholicism and it's relevance to Prophecy?

Roman Catholics are more open minded than christiansMy father just died recently.
