I don't think user name has anything to do with traffic. I always use the same name. But on the other hand, it is possible that user name may help because we are creating a hub pages domain name that contains our user name. Definately something to consider.

I've had this as a username on the internet (and prior to when it was all dial up BBS) for a couple decades now.  Was not very talkative as a kid so ended up watching people more than mingling, the 07 is just a lucky number and as the Watcher username is so common, sets it apart when requesting names from sites.  I don't think mine will have any impact on traffic though.

The username I have selected is Just the same User name I create on every website I write article or signup with, It will never give you more traffic. but It will give you recognition, Lets say I use my name here and after some years of being successive here. lets say that I joined another site at the same time. If users from this site use the same other site as well they will recognize me and my work from user name and this way I will build relationships faster.

I'm not too sure that my "mikielikie" username helps me gets traffic to my hubs. It kinda sounds like a pornstar name but I didn't think about that until it was too late. Everyone I have ever known has used the whole "Mikie likes it" saying when they see me. I use to hate that but I guess now I just go with it. So... although I'm not an adult movie star I can atleast say my username might be.

I think the username is one that helps to build recognition across those in your path, both in person and online.  Mine is a connector to many areas of my life.  The recognition helps drive traffic possibly, but it is all about content and consistency.

I picked MoiraCrochets because my hubs are all about crochet. I think that when we choose a username, it must reflect the kind of hubs we write. It's par t of building your brand. If I used my other internet username MimaMoira, people won't have an idea what I write about based on my name.

I chose my username because I am a teacher. I first used it many years ago as sort of a joke and it stuck. I don't think it promotes traffic.

I chose my username based on what I almost always said as a child, "I'm a tell Muva!" I combined the words to create one word, and opted to use a lower case i. This name I have branded with all that I do, from writing, to crafting, to sewing. So in a sense there is some name recognition, especially for catchy names.

Perhaps there might be a little boost to traffic because of a username

Your username should be something special to you, something no one understands without explanation. Wonder where I got mine? Or are you one of the many who haven't quite decided how to pronounce it.
