What is the most powerful or life changing experience you've ever had? And why was it so?

Joining the US Navy, and finishing out a 10 year military career with them, as an honorable service member.  This experience was something I could never relive, no matter what I may try to do, and it has helped me to re-discover who I truly am.

I learned a great deal from my peers there, and became confident that I could learn anything from that point on, which has lead me to even brighter roads in life to follow and safer passages to trail after.

The military life isn't for everyone, and some may ask me, "so why didn't you finish out your career there."  My most obvious answer to that probable question would be, I learned all that I challenged myself to know there, and it was my time to excel at much more important endeavors I've sought out to accomplish to fulfill my destiny.

I am currently a new age web developer, but if it wasn't for the motivation I gained from my technical Naval experience, it wouldn't have occurred the same way, no way no how.  Running into the design tools was only partly my luck, and reason for all my skills being unleashed onto the web, but whats responsible for leading me to it all is the series of life altering events that have occurred years prior to such a self awareness and awesome discovery.

Just like how I first found & located the Hubpages website, one thing lead to the next & I heard of it months prior to joining, but only was attracted to come and actually join it once my skills aligned to its actual true purpose and or usage as a network for writers.  That also went the same for learning web design, the tools are everywhere on the web, but its all up to a persons interest and skill sets that drive them to achieve digital lift off, sort to speak.

    Nice Question!

The most life changing?  For me, it was when I got saved at the age of seven.  I put my faith and trust in Jesus to save me.  Now I seek to please Him with my life.

Adopting my children.  i was 39 when my husband & I adopted, my son age 6 and daughter, 18 months. My world completely changed the day we welcomed them home and into our hearts, I feel my life is now filled with meaning and purpose and beyond anything, a deep family love.

I'm still pretty young, so this won't be that good, but I would say when I played my first and only solo piano recital.  I worked unbelievably hard to do it and it was really successful.  Great sense of accomplishment.

It was when God redeemed me from my sins. It was when I received Jesus Christ as Lord, and this happened just recently. By the way, I'm previously a convinced atheist. I'm still on the process of writing my testimony. At the moment, why not read my reasons of becoming an atheist.

This may sound a little stupid or insane but my life changing moment happened in the premises of my small rest room while singing "The Prince of Egypt" soundtrack "When You Believe". I was trying to sound as efficiently broadway as possible when I had this revelation. Hahaha! It's crazy. I don't want to talk about it. big_smile

I was in our rear garden, 1968, my wife and I were bringing in some washing, it was evening and dark. In the night sky we saw a bright light getting larger and larger, we looked up amazed, then in a short while everything around us was bathed in light. I presume we were watching a meteorite shower, and were right beneath it as it vaporized over our heads. It was amazing and to this day I swear I started to think different, not sure how, but was allowed to know me.

I saw two friends burn to death before my eyes and felt helpless in preventing their death. I later devoted my life to helping and teaching handicapped children, which I attribute to what has been a great influence and life changing event, and it has made me feel and share of myself much more than I would have ever done without that experience, as tragic as it was.

I started meditating and found a new breath, a new life and peace. Suddenly I opened my eyes and the world was different because I was a happy person, I loved myself and I was ready to live my life.
    Love and peace to all

Moving to Argentina for a year. It made me realize what I want out of life and grow into a better person. I also learned a lot about different cultures and it really opened my eyes about a lot of aspects of life. Finally I met the greatest guy on earth and if I had never taken the risk to move by myself to a different country I would not have met him. Life is about taking risks and the things that come out of those risks are great.
