   Do you pray for those people affected by misfortune?
   
   Recently, we read lots of news about victims of typhoon, murders, crimes, natural disasters. Do you pray for them (foreign countries ) or just pray for your country?

   Yes, I do.  I feel that communal prayer is an important and powerful tool for the energy and healing of the world.  I believe we are all of the same One Divine Source and that the Consciousness of Love and Peace is available to all people and in our world, but our focus and attention must be there.
   
   The bible states, "where two or more are gathered..." but in our technological world this gathering can be across airwaves or thought waves.  It is no longer about sitting in a church or prayer group-love knows no boundaries.  I think there are many, many people, myself included, who have made HP or FB friends all over the world, so there maladies affect us indirectly.
   
   We each have our own way of prayer and solace, however, when it comes to tragedy of the human being, whether emotionally or physically, our ability to walk in our brothers and sisters shoes brings out love, compassion and empathy.
   
   Prayer is a powerful tool.

   Yes, I do. I believe that prayer changes things and that God needs us to intercede on behalf of others, whether they are in distress or not.

      if GOD needs us to intercede on behalf of others...HE is no kind of god. Almighty GOD needs nothing from us. HE does however expect obedience from us. the prayer of a righteous man availeth much. GOD does not hear the prayers of the wicked.

      And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezeikel 22: 30. Stand in the gap means to intercede.

      that does not mean GOD "NEEDS" man to intercede. it means HE sought for at least one righteous man who would stand on behalf of HIS people. JESUS was such a one. HE was the only one pure enough to be sacrificed for mankind.

   I pray for any and everybody, peachpurple. When I hear of tragedies around the world, I pray. As Denise so eloquently shared, there is power in communal prayer when we pray for the needs of others as a group. There is actual scientific evidence about this (sorry I don't have a particular study) in medical circles where persons are healed even when they didn't know someone was praying for them. So yes, praying for people in foreign countries is a good thing.

   i pray that GODs will be done. HE alone knows what HIS plans are for this world and the people in it. since i see only in part, and GOD sees the whole picture, i know HIS will is best and i am content with that. i do not like to see people in pain or suffering in any way. however, i know that much happens to a people, like large scale natural disasters, happen because people have chosen to reject GOD. many people say that makes GOD some kind of tyrant or megalomaniac. i say it makes GOD...GOD. HE created us and HE alone has the right to destroy us if HE so chooses. complain all you want it wont do you any good. mankind is magnified in their own eyes. i am sure cats and dogs would think it rather unfair that we humans kill them by the thousands. we humans have decided that there are too many cats and dogs in this world, and so we kill so called unwanted ones...without a second thought. that makes us tyrants, but do we care? apparently not as we keep on killing thousands every day. we set ourselves up as judges, and we order death or grant life...as though we had that right. mankind is the most destructive species on this planet. GOD owns us. yet HE gives us the right to reject HIM. HE tells us what will happen, but that doesnt deter us. but when those things happen we cry foul...we accuse GOD of all kinds of crimes. if you told your child not to swim in a particular body of water because there was a toxin in it that would kill them, and because they could not see it they chose to ignore you and swim in it. then they get sick and begin to die. who is to blame? not you, you warned them. my point is if you choose to reject GOD you better be prepared to accept the consequences of that choice and not try to lay all the blame at GODs feet. i aplogize for the rant...but not for what i said in it, it is truth. it needs to be said.

   I pray for everyone, including those that are experiencing unfortunate events or circumstances. I believe that everything happens for a reason. That reason is for their souls ultimate growth and enlightenment. So in this way even my worst enemies are like my friends. Whenever I can help I do. Oftentimes there is nothing I can do but pray.  That being said... I believe there is tremendous power in prayer. The power lays with the ability to surrender to that which is greater.

   Yes of course I pray for other countries victims. I don't know the victims any better from my country than another; I just know their plight and their need. That is all I need to know to pray. My heart leads my to pray when I hear of these disasters or horrible things happening to innocent people. God loves them all and so must I.

    I do.  Today, more than ever, there are so many people who are affected by misfortune.  The opportunity and privilege to pray for someone is honorable and it does make a difference.
