Some times I find giving myself a deadline gives me motivation to get something done. For the most part, however, deadlines stress me. A nice alternative is to think about why you are procrastinating. If you are putting off doings something you dislike first figure out if you really need to do it. If, as is more often the case, you are putting off something you like I recommend this resource here: http://www.castlecameron.com/motivation/

I tend to procrastinate when I feel overwhelmed or when I am actually anxious about something.  I will stop and consider what it is that is making me feel that way and acknowledge it.  this usually helps.  I also take those daunting tasks and break them down into to do lists of smaller tasks and that ability to cross things off and feel like I am accomplishing something is highly satisfying and motivating.

Best tip: Tell yourself you'll just do one little thing. Just 30 seconds worth. Surprisingly often I find myself going and doing the whole job! Sometimes it only takes a little push.

Put down our phones and stay off social media and we will perhaps start getting things done. When I am doing those things to excess, I am usually putting off something I don't want to do, or more often, hiding from an overwhelming anxiety like ChristinS said. I recognize what's happening at some point and have to stop and tell myself that facebook and texting are not going to take away the issues that make me anxious nor perform the task I have to do. if it's anxiety I am battling  and know what is causing it (which I usually do) I go find my quiet place spend time with God.

I avoid procrastination my motivation. I will not be satisfied with myself unless I complete my tasks. I make sure to to do what I enjoy and want to do. A simple way for me to organize my life in my daily activities.I know I have to do it so can't avoid it.
