Looks Like Joe Biden is Going to Run for President

In a recent interview, Joe Biden says his family wants him to run for the presidency.

As a non-affiliated conservative-minded fella, I would vote for him.

As a Maryland resident that had meetings with him when he was just a Delaware Representative, (beers and Elk's Club Boy Scout dinners), I would endorse him as enthusiastically as any Bernie supporter ever endorsed Sanders.

To my mind, "ol' Joe' is the epitome of true America. A skilled and artful politician that can play the game as well as any, and still maintain his integrity.

I haven't voted Democrat since Clinton's second term. But I would vote for Biden over all of the candidates so far announced.

He is just a "good ole boy". He makes most of you all comfortable as an continued advocate of the status quo who merely improves on presentation over Trump. I think that we are in crisis mode in many ways, and "middle of the road" is no longer good enough.

But compared with Trump, if the party wants to water down its major concerns with a glad-hander like "good old joe", I will have to accommodate to get Trump out.

Consevatives like to say that Trump was the answer to Obama and his policies. Well, I got my lady that will provide the appropriate challenge and answer to Trump and his supporters.

But Mr. Biden is certainly not my preference nor is he the candidate that best represents where many of us find ourselves politically, today.

Wow. I think, and have always thought, Joe Biden is a creepy guy who would have made a good used car salesman. By the standards Trump is judged by, Biden is no different (if not worse)

But, he is definitely not a socialist and probably wouldn't stoop to pander to power grabs such as the Green New Deal.

If the Democratic party goes too far left in their nominee I suspect they are destined to lose votes and prominence on the political stage. But, that's just my thoughts.

On the subject of Biden being creepy, have you seen this video?:

Yep. Definitely creepy. Those kids definitely looked uncomfortable with his fondling.

I have seen this theme presented before. I have such a different opinion that I am beginning to wonder about my own proclivities.

All I see is a grandfatherly guy that loves children.

When you lose a family and kids to tragedy, maybe it makes you appreciate life more? Could losing his young daughter have anything to do with his adoration of young girls?

Of course, I could be wrong and he is a pedophile.  But I don't think so. I think this is bullshit spin.

How about taking a look at this version of Joe Biden and see if you think it is as much of a spin piece as I think the other linked video is.

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEG-t9Sd2Ac

For full disclosure, I admit I am biased. I have known Joe Biden since he was a Delaware state politician. I truly believe his attention to young girls - as portrayed, is due to the loss of his young daughter. He loves kids. I think that is all this is, and I get pissed when I see a purposeful agenda spin it into something dirty.

GA, you may very well be right that he just a bit overzealous in his attention for young girls (possibly due to the loss of his daughter). It does seem to make the girls uncomfortable though and is probably something he should keep in check, especially with presidential aspirations. Being creepy certainly doesn't equate to pedophilia. Although, if I were a parent, I think I'd err far on the side of caution.

Wow. So, everything you see on a video and every thing you hear on the rumor mill doesn't mean the guy is guilty of something. You'd want proof? Solid evidence?

Are you sure you are a Democrat?

Proof and evidence, especially in cases where it is reasonable and prudent to expect access to it, would be grand. I'm fairly certain I haven't said anything about being a Democrat (not to say that I wouldn't vote that way if the right candidate is on the ticket). I'm definitely not a corporate or Establishment Democrat, which accounts for my lack of excitement in regards to a Biden run (creepy videos and photos aside).

I favor anyone from either party with:

      - Strong character
      - Sound policies
      - Mental stability
      - No corrupting ties with Russia
      - Respect for the Constitution

      That includes Biden.

It would be a refreshing change from the current President.  smile

        "No corrupting ties with Russia"

But what does that mean?  That they have never visited the country, have never spoken (or had any other communication) with a Russian and neither has anyone in their employ, family or acquaintance list?  It seems that that's what is giving the "appearance of corrupting ties" to Trump...

"A skilled and artful politician that can play the game as well as any", come on GA., D.C. is loaded up with skilled and artful politicians (that's our problem) are you attempting to pay him a compliment?
I don't know about that "integrity" part either, I sure as heck haven't heard him speak a word against what his precious political party has become. He is a party loyalist, so I would not expect him to, no matter how low they sink, with each passing day! The day he or someone from that Party separates from the pack, expressing loudly and clearly, that you can't kill a baby for any reason.....for starters....that individual will win more people over and earn more respect than anyone can possibly fathom.

It will be a great curiosity to see which way the party goes with its nominee.

Here is what most if not all Democrats do not comprehend.  In order for a Democrat candidate to have a good chance against President Donald Trump in 2020 their candidate would have to be attractive to President Donald Trump's base of voters. Joe Biden isn't going to do such a thing.  So, as a supporter of President Donald Trump I say, yeah, let Biden run.  It is all good.

I don't know about that Mike, a large base of Trump supporters are working class whites. Biden as far as information I have gathered says he can expect to do well with them, this is an excerpt from a Politico article

"Biden's simpatico bonds with the Democratic Party and his appeal to white working-class voters in the Midwest appear to be his clearest advantages in navigating what is shaping up to be one of the most crowded primary fields on the left. But Biden said his family would be the deciding factor."

That was something Obama did not enjoy to the same extent and what the more palatable, as far as I am concerned, candidates to left of Biden need to obtain.

So, I would not count my chickens just yet......

      GA is "a conservative-minded fella"

                                   ?

That's a joke! No "conservative-minded fella" would ever vote for Biden, or as the party exists now, any Democrat.

I disagree 100%.  There is no Democrat that will be attractive to Donald Trump's base (about 32-35% of voters).  No, a Democrat will have to appeal to the more moderate Republicans and Independents.  Barack Obama did that, and that is how he won two terms.

I think Biden would be a good president.  He isn't my first choice, but I'd be perfectly happy with him in the oval office.
