    Hi,

Is there a reason why comment capsules are unavailable? I can't seem to add a comment capsule to an article, yet in the layout it shows a comment capsule (pictures attached). If I sign out and pull up the article the comment section is not there.

    Thanks.

Comments were disabled a couple of years ago. There are several forums available on this issue. HP has restored them somewhat, but they are difficult to find and neither the writer nor the person commenting are given notification of such.

        Exactly...iti is of no use.

We use the forums....but then again you cannot publish your writing.

You can't add a comment capsule to an article using the HubTool. Comments are not available on all sites, but we are working on them. Commenting is enabled on the following sites, but, at the moment, users will not get any comment notifications.

      https://axleaddict.com/
      https://wanderwisdom.com/
      https://letterpile.com/
      https://soapboxie.com/
      https://delishably.com/
      https://pairedlife.com/

The comment box is below the recommended for you section. The easiest way to find it is to keyword search the word comments. It’s the second occurrence of the word comments in the article unless that word appears in the body of the article.

The fact that we don't get notifications is the sticking point for writers. To be honest, Matt, I would send the product (the comments system) back for a refund as unfit for purpose.

A shame the original Hubpages website design can't be used. Why does the layout have to be the same as other TAG sites? The design was much more visually appealing too. It would solve the comments problem and also the issue with ads splitting up capsule content. I guess the reason for changing was so that more ads could be stuffed in. The end result is that Google has downgraded the sites because of the bad page experience.

+1000 How I miss the original HubPages layout. It was better in almost every way.

Exactly this. I thought it was simple and attractive. The pages are now so messy, I'm not surprised the bounce rate is so high.

I'll agree with this as well, for whatever it is worth. It was attractive and everything actually worked.

This layout also marked the point where HP had, it seemed at least, finally got it right after years of experimenting with different things.

All of that is out the window now.

Yes. Without notification, comments fall on deaf ears.

Hi Writen4u. It's a complicated, on-going issue. See this forum:

Is there a way for me to delete comments?  I no longer want comments on my articles and I can't seem to remove the capsule or find a way to disable them across the board.

Hi Sue, Matt said we can ask him to delete specific comments.

The whole thing boils down to: no comments on hubpages or hubpages.discover.com/                                 I recalled few months ago I wrote Matt on the issue. His response was that they're intensifing effort to restore the comment system on hubpages. How real this will be that I don't know. Though I've shared the challenge twice in the forum. Happy Sunday everyone.
