Hi, all. I got a message just a few minutes back from PayPal that my payment from Arena Group was received and is in my PayPal account.
Yep. Me, too. I guess the funeral procession is now marching on across the globe.
Not yet, here. I am sure the dough will arrive soon.
Edit: I typed too soon. The silly putty arrived. I will delete my account soon. It's the end of an era. Happier and greener pastures, everyone!
Well, I got my ten payouts for my various accounts, so that’s game over. Maybe I should be happy but it’s tinged with sadness that the adventure is done.
We ended up just producing material for the AI companies so that someone else could profit from our graft. Oh well, here’s to a better future world!
Same here. I’m thinking of deleting my account altogether now. I hate to do it but seems like keeping it is pointless…
I haven't done anything with mine, Box. My articles and photos are all still there. I exported my articles to Authory.com, where I built a portfolio that I can direct people to if they want to see my work, but I don't have the heart to delete them from HP. Many people here have said that leaving them on HP only invites theft, but that happened when HP was live, so what's the point? It may be stupid on my part but I just can't bring myself to delete them or my account, for that matter. HP was a huge part of my journey and I met so many wonderful people here.
When someone dies, we don't tear up all our keepsakes or burn physical memories of them, so why would I erase my life at HubPages? It just doesn't seem right, so I'll leave things as they are.
Yes, I too feel the same. I don't like deleting my decade-long creative work. Let it be there.
Yes, I think I'll hit delete too. Probably wise.
Yes, received my payout as well. I guess this is it. I can’t bring myself to close my account though. I managed to delete about half of my articles, but won’t delete everything. I miss what this place used to be.
I received my money too. The end of an eleven years long journey.
I popped in the forum almost every day. I learned a lot from you all. English is not my native language and it was sometimes fun to see editors editing the previous editors. They always found something they thought had to change.
I saved my writings and deleted them from HP, but will not proceed to put them elsewhere. I'm 81 and have enough other things I like to do. I've never been bored one day in my life.
I won't delete my account. HP will close it for me and one day I'll find out they did.
Good luck to all of you.
Glad to hear that all of you are receiving your payments. This generous act of HP management is most appreciated.
Got my payment too.
Thank you HubPages.
Don't feel like deleting the account-- Will decide later.
Best wishes everyone.
It is so sad to experience the demise of HubPages as we used to know it. I wonder how long this forum feature will remain? It is nice to be able to interact with old friends made by writing on this site over the years. Wishing everyone a pleasant journey in the days ahead.
Mine came in too. I moved all the articles out of here, will likely leave the account for posterity. Been fun everyone, best of luck.
Anybody know if deleting your account will also delete all articles as well?
I believe it will. But you could delete them individually if you're not sure. 66 articles won't take long.
We're passed the deadline so it's not fully clear what happens.

I have a quick question. If I unpublish a hub, does Google "see" that it's still sitting in my account and thus punish me for it, or should I be totally deleting hubs that I decide are not garnering enough traffic? Some of them I'd like to keep around until I get the time to...

Some of us have mentioned deleting low-performing articles from your Hubs. I sense they do it because it increases views/impressions. How does that increase views/impressions?

I have read somewhere here that google search engines take into account the page-views to compute ranking. Is it advisable to delete non-performing Hubs, those with 0 pageviews a day, as a way to increase traffic in an attempt to increase ranking? How do you deal with low-performing hubs?thanks in...

In a forum I read recently someone commented that Google looks down on your subdomain if it contains many poor articles. But how do I tell which is considered poor? Can I tell by hubscore? Some of my hubs are in the 60s, but have thousands of page views and others with fewer views are scored much...

I would like to close or delete my account. How do I go about doing this?
by Marcy Goodfleisch 12 years ago
I just noticed that comments I delete from the 'comments' section on my accounts page are not being deleted from the actual hubs. One of my hubs gets spammed a lot by people posting links and email addresses for 'quack' healthcare. I have clicked the 'spam' button and then clicked...
