Although I don't follow any set of rules, what creates an impression in me is the cheerfulness and confidence or the lack of one or both. Clothes also do matter.

However, a very cheerful and confident dude or dudess dressed in cool matching clothes and smelling like hell will create an everlasting bad impression!

So ... everything matters! smile smile smile

Eyes and smile. I'm drawn to people who have warm, kind eyes and an inviting smile.

I like to look into their eyes -- I believe you can see a lot about a person in there.

There eyes and there smile I tend to smile at everyone and I love when they smile back. Sometimes a person's posture tells me that they are shy or insecure so I try to lift their spirits with a smile. smile

being a single guy and all, I have a habit of checking for the wedding/engadgement ring.

Or those obnoxious furry moon boots that 90% of all girls have. How repulsively un-attractive and instant turn off, no matter how pretty or smart she is, or even if shes in mid sentance talking to me, as soon as i realize shes wearing those brown furry moon boots, i will turn and walk away.lol

Posture, then I look for eye contact, then to see if they smile or have that life sucks grimace that so many in America have permanently drawn on their face these days(See my picture for clarification). I still believe in handshaking, and if a man won't meet my eyes and has a limp wrist-ed grip then he's out of the conversation and I will address anyone else around that shows some sign of life and backbone in my book. If a woman reaches for my hand when I offer it, she's in. Even if she doesn't quite know what to do with it.She still gets points for stepping up.

As for the furry boots I love anything a woman wears that says I'm a woman and girlie. In my experience, outgoing funny women wear crazy silly things.

Eyes say so much about a person. The eyes have it. Then it's down to posture/body language.

@Scott - liked what you said about funny women wear crazy things.

I once went out on the school run wearing pyjamas and sheepskin slippers. My car broke down outside school ... I had to walk home. But that's not crazy or funny. That's just plain dumb tongue

Depends if its male or female. With males I notice first his posture, then chest, then eyes, height, demeanor, and finally manners. Have to admit I don't really notice his style, since guys usually let you change that if they're interested in you.

With women I first compare their shape to mine (if she's thinner I immediately hate her). I then notice if she's wearing any designer labels. Anything after that is trivial.

Their Countenance, a certain spirit about them?

Something they should take with them?
A favorite necklace, given to them by a very special person!

Getting some new clothes or a new outfit, seems to give a person a new confidence, to walk tall and hold their head high!

I think that the first thing you noice about someone is what they are wearing. You notice is it is a woman if she has a dress on first, or shorts and a top. It is the thing you see first before you really notice the eyes, mouth and teeth.  BB

The face, about 75℅ of the energy comes from the face. Being a sculptor, the face tells the story about the person more than anything else.

I mostly notice face (obviously) and overall body language. I mostly like the formal posture not a informal no what the point I am meeting the person.

  36. profile image56
    SaswatiSposted 5 years ago

When I meet a person for the first time I look at their eyes. Eyes tend to speak out a lot, for most people. Your lips might be smiling. But if your eyes are not then you are not genuinely happy
