Just curious if people go back and edit their hubs after they first put them up.
While I don't think you should publish incomplete hubs, I thought it would be better to get it up and running and going back later to add to it.
I haven't seen anything that encourages people to keep adding to their old hubs. I think you should be rewarded by adding information to existing hubs as well as creating new ones.
Curious to hear what other people think.
I do, depending on whether or not there is new information that has either come to hand or I have a better way of communicating it (from feedback or questions in the comments capsule from visitors).
I won't tweak mercilessly in the vain hope that Google will love me more.
Making the hub better is rewarded. If there is additional information it will be found by the Search Engines, thus improving your chances for being found.
Thanks darkside - so you're saying that revisions to your Hubs do get picked up by search engines? I've been thinking of revising some of my first Hubs, because now I've gained a bit more experience, I can see I didn't use half the potential of HubPages when I set them up. But I wasn't sure there was any point. Sounds like there is!
When I pubilshed my India hub the laptop one came up as the next one in the group on the link - Ichecked the laptop one and realised it was bad so quickly revamped it then got su - presumably coincidence and has since been one of my better hubscores -so maybe its worth it?
I am in the process of updating alot of my older hubs, firstly because they were not up to standard and i have learned more about the topics since, secondly, i have found myself renaming some hubs because the original names were lame, and thirdly when you update an old hub they suddenly have a surge in visitors.
you may see less hubs from me for a while it is because i am updating some of my earlier hubs.....jimmy
Hi Guys!! Good topic!! I am updating my few Hubs right now as I learn more and more each day!! I hope the new information gets picked up!! I hope it increased HubScores!! Blessings on your day!! Earth Angel!!
I as well as many other Hubbers are always updating, tweaking and adding new information to keep Hubs updated.
In life nothing is perfect as everything can be improved..
This is very interesting because just earlier today I deleted an entire hub, renamed it, but basically put the same information but added pictures and a link. It was the first hub I published and realised it was not doing so well, not so much because the content was not good enough, but the name was not right. I thought you could not rename the URL that's why I deleted the hub and changed the URL. I'm still learning my way around hubpages and it's a lot by trial and error. But I'm improving.
I do update Hubs, but how or when is often as individualized as each Hub is.
I update some of my Hubs from time to ttime as well, for the same reasons - new information, better understanding of how to use the tools, etc.
updating is a good option. i do update my hubs when ever i find more info on a particular topic that i have posted so far.. so tat users will get more info at my hub.. i dont think its not used.. infact its the mostly used one.. u can also correct the errors if any... isnt it?
Unless you really want to delete something I wouldn't delete anything from the web, even if the traffic is low. You never know who might pick it up down the track. I would suggest either updating a hub or creating a new one with fresh content.
I had no option but to update a hub today, a hotel review i wrote a while back has become defunct because the hotel was imploded today, i updated the hub with news of the implosion and a video of the event.

hahaha. although some people may have wanted to see how people enjoyed the hotel before it was imploded but i understand this will get more traffic.
I always do several pass on an article. For example for my Pharaoh Ramesses II hub there was only a paragraph, now I have added much more
Updating old hubs is very beneficial for hubbers, as it increases our overall hubscore and our hubs come up. You can see traffic rising of recently updated hubs and traffic falling on old and stale hubs.

I don't have a lot of hubs, but I'm finding myself updating them every few weeks with new content. Who else is updating their hubs and who isn't? If you don't, do you create a new hub and compile them into a single group?

I have been writing for over 4 years at hubpages and in that time period there have been many changes. What I need to do and I'm sure many of you also need to do, is update old hubs that were written when I did not have a very good idea about how things work online. So now I will sit and update 4...

Hi Hubbers,We've been engaging with some outside help on helping bring more traffic to HubPages. It's going to be an iterative process where we take recommendations, test them out on the site, and adjust. The first round of changes we have been working on is the topic hierarchy. ...

I am at a point where I don't know if I should spend the little time that I have updating my numerous hubs across 4 accounts, or just ignore, and write new hubs. It has become tiring. I haven't had the inspiration to write more, just because I am made to feel that all I have written in the past...

Can anyone explain why my page views have plummeted in the last few days. They have gone from 300 per day to 25 per day. Before December I was steadily increasing page views and was up in the high 300's. Throughout December the views slowly dropped down to the mid 200's then out of the blue 3 days...

I'm noticing lower than normal CPMs on my hubs. Way lower. Like half or more. Anyone else noticed this?
