Depends on the mood , put it up  a couple weeks ago this year to help bring my spirits up , I love the smell of a fresh fir tree and it helps to make me feel happy , so since I need to do something to make me feel happy I put it on up. In the years where I am allready bubbly and busy and happy feeling , I'm usually a bit lazy about it and do it about a week before xmas

We just put ours up tonight!  The kids were beginning to think we were not going to get one and I was beginning to think so too.  I was scheduled for a c-section today, but it was changed till Monday.

"Usually", we wait till afer all December birthdays then put up the tree...now we are going to have a December 21 birthday!  I guess we are going to have to change our tradition somehow.

The insanity at my house started the weekend before Thanksgiving when my beautiful nutty wife started the first tree and all the trouble.

There is now a 200+ sq ft Multi tiered Dept 56 lighted house Xmas village, 60K lights outside,
    5 sets of trains,
    4 Christmas trees,
    3 lighted wreaths,
    2 costumed dogs,
    and One really tired husband.

Starting to see why your name is readytoescape! lol! My husband started computer programming our outdoor lights last year.  The adventure continues...

As for OP - We put it up about when we've determined it won't survive laying on the porch w/o water anymore and take it down just after it becomes a fire hazard.
