Who was behind the New York car bomb attack? The Taliban, the flying spaghetti monster, or barney the purple dinosaur? All are just as likely.

    What do you think?

I don't know...but what I have learned is NOT to accept anything the corporate media says without doing your own due diligence.

Media deception is quite often ignored.

None of the above. I'd be willing to bet that the person or people responsible for this event are very real and live right here in our own borders.

Would not surprise me either if they lived right here in the USA, we are quite the open republic, known for our tolerance, which brings with it certain risks.

What's sad is that the Tea Party movement has done nothing to rid itself of the vile, racist and violent fringe groups that have attached themselves to it from the start.  Because of that 'inclusive' philosophy, the entire movement is going to bear the blame and stigma of violence when  the nut cases emerge.  Teabaggers built the movement on hate - and hate will bring the movement down. I have no specific information abut the Times Square incident but the evident incompetence of the bomber sound like a teabagger to me.

Couldn't have said it better, Doug.
With the climate as polarized as it has been, the tea party had an opportunity to be a significant organization.
But, they went the route of the angry misinformed mob.

Keep working on that line, you are doing a really respectable job of it, maybe you'll catch a big Trout.....but then they have very sensitive mouths, gotta be careful not to jerk the hook too soon before they swallow the bait.

Good to know you don't have specific information on the Time Square bomber, really comforting to us all.

I am glad to see how you stick to facts.  Nice of you to try to hold other people up to your high expectations while you stroll down the low road.

BTW:  How many Teabaggers do you know?  wink wink (peers in closet)

From AP about an hour ago...

Authorities have identified the buyer of the SUV used in a failed Times Square terror attack and are seeking him as a potential suspect, two law enforcement officials said Monday.

The buyer is a man of Pakistani descent who recently traveled to Pakistan.

Palins a lot better looking than Hillary Clinton, so yeah, I like her, doesn't mean I would vote for her.

I rank her as qualified as Obama, which means they are as incompetent as the Warren Commission, which was pretty damned incompetent.

I'm not a teabagger, I think they're unhealthy, but the revolution WAS totally built on inflammatory overstatement and outright lies. We still believe the boston massacre was proof of British wrongdoing.

Buck Steinerposted 13 years agoin reply to this

But you're here to set us all straight and tell us the British really, really didn't want our money in taxes, it was some big misunderstanding on our part!

        1. Falsor Wing profile image60
Falsor Wingposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Oh sure they wanted taxes... far less than any other British citizens paid, but I didn't say there should not have been a revolution. I did say the founding fathers lied a lot to gain support, and they did. They felt the ends justified the means. whether or not they did is a different argument.

tl;dr Don't get your panties in a bundle I'm not saying the colonies didn't have legitimate complaints.

Maybe you should read a little more about it before posting that it was based on lies. Start with the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers. That'll give you an excellent basic understanding of the issues they were facing, and how it is parallel to what the tea party-ers are saying. You can read them online too. smile

The Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers are not "political rhetoric", but very important documentation in regards to the founding of our country.

I suggest you refrain from commenting until you know what you're talking about.

I don't think the teamonkeys are channeling either the Federalists or the Anti-Federalists (the Anti-Federalists were eventually forced to recognize the fact that a strong national government was necessary, a fact the tm's will never accept.)

The teamonkeys are more like the people who wanted the articles of confederation to be renewed, and boycotted the constitutional convention.  They were extremely paranoid about any government they couldn't see from their back yard. (They were the FoxNews audience of their day).

Like the teamonkeys will be, these nincompoops are a mere footnote in American history.  Once they got out of the way, real progress began.
