Hello everybody, we had a great party time last week.  We had everything from innocent children's and tea parties to the gruesome zombie themed party.  The good news is that with 24 official party hubs we have managed to be the third HubMob topic with most daily views and the fourth topic with the most weekly views last week!

For this week we are going to have a more serious topic, a topic that is touching hundreds of people at the moment.  The HubMob weekly topic is Earthquakes and other natural disasters.

Let's hope that our hubs help people to prepare for future natural disasters and that we can somehow educate people as to what to do during and after a disaster.  Let's also take the occasion to remember the survivors of past natural disasters, people who now no one remember but still live with the consequences of what happened to them a few months or even years ago.

Some ideas for a HubMob hub are:

Earthquake basics: what is an earthquake, etc.
    Measuring earthquakes
    Earthquake security
    Damage from earthquakes
    Historic earthquakes
    Predicting earthquakes
    Statistics
Most at risk places for earthquakes
    Preparing for an earthquake
    Earthquake first aids
    Seismic waves
Geology: earth structure, faults, plates, etc
    Tsunamis
    Volcanoes
What to do during and after an earthquake
    Common myths about earthquakes
Long term effects and consequences of earthquakes
    Earthquake insurance

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. click this link and answer the Request that I entered in for all of you HubMobsters.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your HubMob To get a good ranking in the search engines make your title relevant to your hub content and avoid starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. If necessary change the category for your hub according to your content.

    4. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/request/12931/?new&rss

    5. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    6. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

    7. Keep track of your Hub and keep us updated on any traffic that you're getting and post some screenshots if you end up HubMobbing a few search keywords over on Google.

Yep, that's about it - have fun writing your HubMob Hub this week and please let us all know if you have any questions. Have fun, you crazy HubMobsters. smile

For those who are still not sure about what is a HubMob and the benefits of taking part in one I created this guide http://hubpages.com/hub/What-is-a-HubMo … o-join-one , please feel free to come up with any questions if you have any doubts left.

Cindy, it was your Shaking up Safety hub about the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake  that inspired me for this week's topic... You are a HubMob Star and you know it smile

Just a quick note to remind you that your hubs can be both:

    1) A HubMob, and
    2) A Hub Challenge hub

Just add both graphics to it and the RSS feeds.

I was just reading it, it is a great historical account,   terrifying at points.  It is amazing to see how a city and its people can recover from the worst disasters.

I live on an earthquake belt. Our whole country is one big volcanic thing, and every no and again the Mountain down the Road, bursts forth and sends a lahar down through all the native trees, just to let us know it is There.
I sat through a swarmj of Earthquakes they had 13 in all some huge some minor.......... All a big concern for Civil defence.
The worst I have seen personally was where roofs came through a couple of houses, and another where my neighjbours swimming pool started creating mini tsunamai (Tidal waves)
We are like Italy we live with it. So you only think about them while you are being chucked about.
Worst we have had, destroyed Napier, way before my time, so the whole place is Art Deco, as that was the era people were building in. So where there was once a Victorian towen, we now have atruly Deco City. Many died and it was horrible.
The weirdest behaviour I have seen relates to Tsunamai warnings people drive to the Beach to see them com ing....Intelligent.
