Lego is one of the world’s most popular toys. What are the best Lego toys for boys though? With so much Lego to choose from where do you start? Well on this page we look at some of the best Lego for boys, we review some of the top Lego toys and also give you an idea of prices and where to buy online. If you are looking for ideas on what Lego to buy for boys, then this guide will tell you all you need to know.

Lego have been going for many years. There are literally billions of Lego blocks produced each year. The toys sell all over the world. I had Lego when I was a child and I still enjoy Lego now that I’m older, I’m constantly impressed by the new lines of toys the company bring out. So now let’s take a look at some of the best Lego for boys.

Ninjago

To start with let’s take a look at the Ninjago line. This came out in 2010 and was a massive hit for Lego. The idea behind Ninjago is that it is interactive and kids can play games with each other, swap cards, collect toys and basically get involved in the whole Ninjago range. As well as being able to buy Ninjago models to build, you also get spinners. Spinners can take part in mini battles that take place in the Ninjago arenas you can buy. You also get profile cards and other things to help you play games.

There are various characters in the Ninjago range, some are seen as good and some are seen as evil. Some of the popular ones include Cole, Kai, Zane, Chopov, Bonezai and Sensai Wu. There are other characters in the line and Lego are constantly updating the series and bringing out more toys. You can buy the individual spinners or you can buy starter sets where you get two characters, two spinners, a few weapons and a hand full of battle cards.

When you have your characters you need somewhere to put them. In the Ninjago Lego range there are various arenas you can buy and also some pretty impressive vehicles. As you would expect you can build these up and by following the instructions or as with most Lego you can simply use the bricks provided to create what ever your imagination allows. Ninjago is currently one of the most poplar lines in the Lego range and it is very popular with boys. You can buy all the Ninjago toys over on Amazon and the prices there are very reasonable.

Star Wars Lego

Another massively popular line in the Lego range is the Star Wars Lego. This is another one that boys simply love. The Star Wars movies have not only spawned Lego figures but also a Lego video game which has become very popular. There are lots of excellent toys in this range. The best thing about Star Wars Lego is the fact that it is very versatile. You don’t necessarily have to build what’s on the box, you can use the bricks to create anything your imagination will allow.

Some of the more popular Star Wars toys include ones such as the Millennium Falcon, Super Star Destroyer, the Death Star, Clone Turbo Tank and many others. There are actually three lines in the Star Wars toys. Each line has it’s own toys and crafts. You have the Clone Wars toys, the Episodes I-VI toys and also the Exclusives. There are so many different Star Wars toys to choose from that you really will be spoilt for choice.

Mines Of Moria LOTR Set

Lego Lord Of The Rings

The latest big release to come from Lego are the new Lord Of The Rings sets. These are already massivly popular and will no doubt get even more popular when we see the Hobbit film released. Initially we have seen seven new LOTR sets to be released. These vary in price and size but are all really good solid sets and are the kind of Lego that will no doubt appeal to boys both young and old. One of the biggest appeal of these new toys are the minifigures. Collecting them all is something boys love doing and being able to have your very own Fellowship Of The Ring in Lego form is very exciting. Plus of course there is the Gollum minifigure which is really well done.

Some of the highlights of the new series include sets such as the Mines Of Moria. This is quite a large set with lots of action taking place. Along with this one you get a Cave Troll minifigure which is probably the pick of the bunch. The largest and most exciting set from this theme is The Battle Of Helms Deep. This is a huge set with well over a thousand pieces. You build a large part of the wall and the detail is very impressive, plus you get a massive nine minifigures.

Later in the year we are also going to be getting Hobbit Lego, this will coincide with the release of the first movie. Along with that there are also other LOTR sets in the pipeline. So if you are after a Lego theme that your boys will love then this may be just the one you are looking for.

Lego Minifigures

Next up is a line of Lego Toys that have recently caught the imagination of millions. Lego Minifigures are simply Lego men dressed in different ways. This may sound pretty boring but these little mini figures have become very collectable and the idea of collecting the full sets is something that really appeals to children. Lego have so far released five different series of these toys. Each set has 16 new characters. Lego release a couple of new series each year and the next release is always hotly anticipated.

One of the most exciting features of these toys is the fact that you buy them in individual mystery bags. That means you don’t know what you're actually getting, it’s a surprise. Then the idea is children use them as they would trading cards, you simply swap them with your friends until you have the full set.

Some of the minifigures that have been released really are good fun. You have characters like the surfer girl, space man, mad scientist, witch, gorilla suit man, gladiator and many more. If your child collects these and you want to help them along in their collection then you can buy these figures for next to nothing over on Amazon. This is a great way to help your child complete their collection or just get them started.

We have now made it all the way up to series 10 and there is exciting news of a golden figure than Lego are bringing out with this new set. There will only be 5000 of these figures released and they will be placed in random bags and shipped all over the world. A great incentive for kids to get out there and collect these.

Later in 2012 there is a film being released called The Avengers. This will feature classic Marvel characters such as Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America. Lego have brought out new toys that feature characters and scenes from the movie. These are really nice sets and again very playable with lots to interact with. if your child is a fan of this film then he will no doubt love some of these new sets.

Along with these releases we also have seen a new X-Men set, a Spider-man set and a few nice toys known as Ultrabuilds. These are basically large models of well known Marvel and DC Universe characters. As you can imagine if you are looking for Lego for boys then any of these sets will go down very well indeed.

More Lego For Boys

There are so many other lines of toys you can have a look at. Some of these are aimed specifically at boys and they really are great fun. For instance, Heroica is a battle game where you use dice to challenge different characters from the range. Harry Potter is another very popular range, you can build Hogwarts and get all the main Potter characters.

One of the classic Lego ranges is Technic. These toys have been around for a while now and are aimed at children who are maybe that little bit older. The Technic range really is impressive as you can build some wonderful things with these clever and slightly more technical pieces of Lego. Another ideal line for boys is the Creator range. Here you can buy things like cars, planes and boats. All good classic toys that really will get your little boys imagination flowing.

What ever kind of toys you are looking for you are sure to find something in the Lego range that you child will enjoy.
