What do you see when you look into the mirror?
They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul. Can you see into your soul when you look into the mirror or is it something else you see?
I can't see my soul in the mirror - I am too distracted with my imperfections. Besides, it is not me, I adjust my behaviour, it is some stranger there.
Or it all depends... on the distance - I might check the way I move while dancing, it's a different thing. But I can't see my soul there.
I treat a mirror as a device to check my appearance - I don't need to look at it to see my soul. There is no soul there. I feel much better without seeing my reflection...
interesting question. the other day i was talking to my sister who i had not talked to in about 11 yrs. she told me she still looked good, slim, young looking and guys hit on her all the time. but she hated to look in the mirror because she felt ugly...ugly inside. she has done much in her life that contributes to this feeling of internal ugliness. she hold much bitterness not one to forgive easily. i would say that when she looks in the mirror, she is observing the state or condition of her soul. i am sort of the opposite...while i am not pretty on the outside, i see that the condition of my soul is healthy, and it shines...people comment on me being beautiful yet i know it is only the internal beauty they see. at this point i would like to say that i would not be beautiful inside if it were not for GOD.
I see a romantic person who is going to make the love of their life feel like the worlds most extraordinary person.I see eyes just waiting to pulled into a real life fairytale that is always thinking the best will happen even if the worst possible things happen instead.
when I look at myself first thing in the morning I see my sleepy eyes and my cowlick..lol! Honestly, I just see "me". I've looked into other people's eyes and have thought that their eyes have no life in them....and then I've looked into others where they were all sparkly and their eyes smiled.....and I think that those are examples of seeing someone's soul in their eyes. I think your eyes reflect what's on the inside.
When I look in a mirror I wonder "who is that old person looking at me."
I don't need to see "into" my soul. I AM my soul, supported by a frame, called the human body. If I look intently & with purpose, at my refection in a mirror, I can see my entire being, for all the years I have spent on this earth. I see a much-loved baby girl with fine curly golden locks in ribbons, whose world was perfect because of parents who protected and guided me........a curious and adventure-loving Tom-boy, who learned to love people and animals and nature.......an energetic, bold and "typical" teen, who balanced between Angel & Devil, and thirsted to know as much as could be learned.....a young, strong and independent woman, with virtue and vice, falling madly in love and becoming a mother. I see all of the mistakes I made, the lessons learned and the growth that came from it all. I can still feel every hurt, every heartbreak, although healed.
What I see, as the woman I am today, is all of these pieces that fell into place, to create this mature, wise, and mellowed female.....grateful for having had the life I lived, precisely as it played out, as it was meant to be......Who I am meant to be.
I would trade nothing.....change nothing, nor do I wish to have anything I do not already possess. All of my valuables are in my heart and a part of my spirit.....I can see them and hear them...touch them and love them. For all the beauty, the ugliness and in between......I am grateful to have been loved, to continue learning and what I see in the mirror is someone who lives each day, with purpose.
A female with spots on her face and personality. There are blimishes in her character, personality, style, and soul.
Usually, a dirty mirror. Haha. My soul feels too cloudy at the moment to truly see. As I seek more clarity in my life, I think I'll understand the core of my essence, at least I hope. What do you see?
I see myself. My eyes reflect all the fun times I've had and a perhaps a few specks of the hard times.

There’s a thread up now with a picture of a shack in the Cayman Islands which claims to be a store in hell. I know the hubber assumed we would all take it for the joke it was intended; but it made me start to wonder. If hell were real, how large would it have to be if Christians or Muslims were...

Do you think our life here on earth is predetermined by us before we are even born? Some think we plot out a chart before we arrive here giving ourselves 6 exit points during our lifetime. If we do not take any of the exit points (near death experiences) when we get to the last one, our time...

I've been contemplating the key to living a happy existence and a thought came to mind- Maybe part of being happy is when your life and what you do in your life matches who you are on the inside.I spent a large portion of my life being who others wanted me to be, and was never true to who I was...
