Writing is a great way to express yourself.  You can read your material later and it's always fun to do that and remember about back when you wrote it.  It's also a great way to get your thoughts across without being interrupted.  I think that if you write about what you like, take pleasure in writing, and put care into it, someone else may find enjoyment in your writing as well.

I agree with your comments about sharing your writing.  Yes putting our own thoughts in writing helps us to remember our individuality and conquer problems too. Thanks for your answer.

For the fun of it. Think of it as painting a picture with words. The same theories apply. There are color and word schemes. There are infinate possibilities. Etc.

I write more to express myself and to maintain my sanity!  In writing, I find I can release worries and see a bigger picture than the personal experience.

There is a me, that others can't see
I need to ask, 'To be or not to be'!
Who do I talk to, if not with me?
Writing is just that, my soliloquy!!!

    Hi Starstream,

I write mainly because I wish to making a humble living online and I'm moving permanently to a country where I am not yet fluent in their language.

I also do not wish to be a burden on this country and while I have skills which will be useful the language barrier is going to be a big problem for a while at least.

That said, this is my first attempt at writing and so far I am really enjoying it. I only taught myself to type earlier this year and I'm very happy about that.

At the moment no money has been earned but I haven't enjoyed doing anything this much in a long long time.

This has become nearly like an addiction and I hope I can earn something from it so that I can continue doing it.

I also have a lot of knowledge on cars and bikes and as the schools and colleges won't let me teach what I know without years of training and exams, which I understand and don't mind, this is a way I can perhaps pass on the knowledge that I have.

I have no children so my skills and knowledge will go with me which is perhaps a little sad but that's the way it is,
    MJ.

I write because I like to. It is like a release. It entertains me.

There is a peace in writing regardless if you share with other people or keep it to yourself in a journal. It allows you to be yourself in ways you may not be able to in front of others.

I write to clear my head and create something that might possibly help others either through entertainment or education.

Not in the traditional sense, no. Should I be?

Why do you sing? Why do you paint? Why do you love? Why do you breathe?
