The color yellow reminds me of my parents because their house is painted yellow.  When their neighbors painted their house yellow, my mom sent my dad to the store for a brighter yellow paint.  Yellow is a sunny, bright color and it makes me smile to think of my parents house.

It is cheerful, and makes me think of sunflowers, which are my favorite flower. The bright sunlight, and the promise of summer. So it means cheerfulness, summer, and good times!

The colour yellow to me would mean...
The warmth of the blissful radiant sun, the dehydrating sands of the desert and last be not least a colour stands out, appeals and attracts people's attention. Such as road sign which have a yellow background. Not ensure that the sign simply stands out, so it's noticeable.

    Sunlight, wonderfully bright,
sunflowers baking in the sun and sleeping at night,
daisies dancing in a warm breeze,
roses with the fragrance of ease,
    warmth on a winter day,
    cheer of children at play,
calm as an infant in slumber.
Yellow, the color that will never encumber!

The colour yellow means "happy" to me.  It's bright, and reminds me of the sun.  It's also very carefree, and screams out joyfully to the world.  I think nothing is complete without a tad of yellow!

Yellow is saffron suffusing rice with colour and flavour and the taste of Easter buns. Yellow is Winter Flowering Jasmine on a grey winter morning.

Yellow is the daffodil planted as one of the memorials for my father; yellow is the colour of the raincoat that he wrapped around my shoulders to protect my wedding dress as we left for a different church in earlier years.

Yellow is a sunrise and a sunset a new begining each day.

To me, yellow can be a time machine or a mood altering fantastical adventure.  Golden yellow can take me back to the rusty-iron smell of well water or the scent of homemade doughnuts--it was the color of my grandmother's kitchen...
Yellow can alter my mood in the blink of an eye wether it be the sunny-yellow of a sunflower along with the scent of late summer baking into my children's hair or the smooth, creamy yellow of banana pudding or banana cream pie.

I don't know that it means much to me.  But it was the poet Emily Dickinson's favorite color (I did my thesis on her work) and a psychiatrist friend told me it was also the favorite color of the seriously mentally ill. I do not think Emily was a nutcase, tho. Come to think of it, I painted my livingroom pale yellow.  Owch.

Mellow Yellow - reminds me of something beautiful. At the end of every dark tunnel, there is a yellow light. Yellow for the light that gives HOPE. Your face lights up yellow when you smile. No, not the yellow teeth, and definetly not the yellow-jaundice skin! Lol. smile

I've never liked Easter because it's somehow too yellow. And I can't wear yellow because it makes me look jaundiced. People who wear a lot of yellow are always so 'pseudo-sunny'. Yellow hair is just badly bleached --

I think I ought to do something about my attitude towards yellow, having read the other answers here ...

To me, yellow is bright and bold and has no shadow to it. I see a smile radiating with warmth and brilliance.
I feel drawn to it and energized by it. Variations of the color yellow have a similar effect on me in that the colors have meaning and draw me towards them and I associate them with memories of sunny days or creamy cake batter and soft margarine spread over biscuits with my Grandma. I also relate the color yellow to Easter and Spring. The bright color of yellow makes me able to focus and concentrate better because it is an attention grabber and it is an easy color to see and recognize.

I see yellow as I see all colors.  It definately depends on the medium or the pallet it is involved with.  My brain follows a very positive path usually, so as I read the question: I feel very motivated.

Yellow reminds me of myself. When I read the word yellow, I picture childhood drawings I would make of myself and I always had a head full of bright yellow hair.
I have been blonde my entire life & have almost created a connection with that color in my mind.

Yellow is warm, sun shiney and warm like arms around you or a halo above you. I heard years ago no one should wear yellow, but I totally disagree, I dont like it dark or brassy but pale sunny part of the earth color.

Yellow reminds me of Easter and the fun of hunting the eggs.  It reminds me of warm summer days.  It makes me think of my daughters with their beautiful blonde hair and this brings a smile to my face.

Yellow is my paternal grandfather, tuggin' on my fat, bright blonde, braided pig tails, telling me that Ireland is missing it's brightest wild yellow rose, in his rolling accent from the hills of Ireland herself. His voice warm and sunny, it seems like whenever he spoke his voice would surrond you in warm yellow light.

    Yellow is loving.

Yellow is my maternal great-grandmother, brushing out my long hair, telling me how it looked like corn silk, keeping me up at night telling me about how it was to grow up Native American. Her strength and wisdom painted many sunny, and sorrowful tales.

    Yellow is pride.

Yellow is the light bouncing off the walls of my newlywed home. My husband buying and painting it for me in my favorite color even before I said yes, his faith and love for me never given him doubt.

    Yellow is destiny

Yellow is the baby blanket I am knitting, before I am even pregnant. I think of the baby that will be and I pray for her health and happiness before she is even here.

    Yellow is hope.

One of the most crucial factor is usually to take pleasure in yourself -- to always be satisfied - it is really all that really matters.

    * All of us respond almost like comfort and ease plus high quality were the main wishes involved with life, while all that most people really need to be content is undoubtedly one thing to be interested in

The color yellow energizes me. I seem to be drawn to yellow.  Having said that, I want to clarify which color of yellow I am talking about. Some yellows (golder tones) do not have the same effect on me. I like sunshine yellow. Oh, yes!

I wrote a hub on the color green and how that color affects us. I also notice your preferred spelling of the word colour - I think I like it better than color. Thanks.

Yellow car, is riding in sunshine.   Yellow cake with chocolate frosting,is yummy.   Yellow of Lemon, in a well made Lemon Merique pie, is yummy, too.   Yellow flowers in bloom, is awesome and uplifting, and makes a home or landscaping with yellow , pretty and attractive.   Yellow gives light in the curtains as the outside light streams through the yellow fabric panels.  Yellow is a peaceful color.  Gives distinction of Hope and Possibility of the viewer.  Yellow is Bright, Cheerful, many hues of Happiness!

Yellow symbolizes sunniness.  It is brilliance & brightness.  It is sunshine.  It is a light shade of gold.  It is positively.  In fact, it is positivity at its highest level.  It is unbridled optimism.  It signifies that is a bright road after the storm.  It means that there always hope, even in the darkest moments.

It is cheerfulness.  It is being upbeat.  It is being happy despite the obstacles that one encounters.  It is seeing & appreciating the lighter side of life.  It is wholesomeness.  It is extreme youth.  It is a feel good color which makes one feel no other than simply ebullient.

If it were a perfume/fragrance, it would be a light citrus.  It is nonthreatening.  It is sugary honey.  It is mellowness.  It is buttered corn.  It is delicious lemonade.  It is delight.  It is approachability.  It is easy on the eyes.
