   “Encourage the learners, they will grow in time,
   complaining and moaning are like a bad rhyme.
   No one’s forced to read anything they don’t like,
   to all the fault-seekers, just get on your bike.”
   What a perfect way to respond to fault-seekers. People will read what they like and avoid reading what they don’t. So I don’t think it is justified for others to get all worried and upset when they come across a substandard piece of writing. People will eventually grow and learn from their mistakes, of course, constructive criticism can play a big role here. Support and kindness can go a long way and that is something I always say and believe. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful poem, John. Thank you, Rosina, for sharing it.

   This is an excellent thought-provoking poem John. I agree with your views also. I think we should not be judgmental and it is okay if our view points are slightly different. I don't think it is my job to be critical of what others write. I really enjoyed reading all that you wrote.

      Thank you Pamela. We are all different writers, and entitled to share our opinions and messages. It is sometimes too easy to be critical, but we should always think carefully before we hold others to account.

       Hi Brenda. Yes, I was pretty proud of those words you just quoted. Not that they are anything incredibly prophetic, just that they should be a common courtesy. I don’t think anyone could seriously argue against them. As always, I appreciate you supporting my work.

    Thank you so much for writing this poem, John. You summed it up perfectly. Excellently written and expressed. I loved each and every word you have written in this poem.
    
    I especially loved these lines:
    
    “Speak truths that are helpful. ….. seek much attention by shouting out loud”
    
    “Satire can be good,…. they’re sensitive souls who need coaxing, not shoves.”
    
    Only if we understand other people's emotions, and that harsh words can tear some sensitive souls apart. Unfortunately, there are some people who do not understand and, when questioned, praise themselves by claiming to know what others do not.
    
    Through this forum post, I'd like to convey the message that there is a distinction between differing opinions and insulting others. If we are in an online world, we should stay aware that behind the screens are humans with feelings.

       Hello Misbah, sorry that it has taken me so long to reply. For some reason I have not been getting notifications of posts on this thread. I am so glad you agreed with the words of this poem which, I must point out, were not written with any malice towards anyone else. I am just stating what I truly feel, and how I believe people should act towards one another.
       
       Your comment adds a lot of additional wisdom to what I have said, and some people can be so full of self-praise of their own accomplishments that they have trouble being empathetic to others, and see views different to their own as failings. I don’t think I have ever consciously mentioned my personal learnings, qualifications, or achievements (other than as a permaculture designer and freelance writer in articles specifically related to those.)
       It is true that, as you say, “in an online world” we need to take extra care in what we say because we have no idea what others are going through in their real lives. Kindness is not a weakness!

          Thank you so much for your kind words, John. Yes, I understand. I'm also having trouble receiving notifications.
          
          I mentioned the "online world" because when we speak to someone in person, we can often see their body language and reactions. Sometimes we have some knowledge of their personality. But no one knows how some harsh words can tear apart some sensitive souls when we are behind the screens.
          
          I agree Kindness is not a weakness.
