This is such a lovely and thought-provoking poem, John, with an important message and wonderful advices. I loved it all. I agree with everything you said. I also liked Criss Jami's quote.

"You must be humble, as it is one of the greatest [forms of] worship."

    — Ali Ibn Abi Talib A.S

"Humility is to make a right estimate of oneself."

    —Charles H. Spurgeon

Thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks Rosina for sharing John's beautiful poem.

Happy Sunday and Blessings to both of you!!

    Great work here John.
It is wonderful advice for all.

There are times I feel like being the arrogance of Goliath, but my nature turns me towards the calmness of David.

    Sometimes I wish it wasn't so...but I can't change my nature.  I am what I am...a nice person.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Brenda. We all have our moments, but as long as we strive to be nice people that is what is important.

        John...
I can't even strive to be a nice person.
        It's inside of me...something I can't help or change.
I'm glad that it's a part of me because I've seen the other side...it can be pretty ugly.

Well, it is even better if you don’t have to strive.

Great poem John with a very good message. Humility, kindness and empathy make a person strong, not weak and we should not let the braggarts bog us down with their pompousness. Thanks Rosina for sharing.
