Please take some time to read John's lovely collection of haiku poems

    Here's the link: https://hubpages.com/literature/Environ … Collection

John, I really enjoyed your collection of haiku poems; they're all fantastic. I especially loved the second one. The poem at the end is also beautiful. I'm not sure what that type of poem is called, but I'll research about it. Have a wonderful weekend. smile
    Blessings to you!

Hi Misbah, you were fast at sharing this article. I have since added three more haiku specifically about pollution. Thank you for the generous comment, and I am glad you particularly liked the second haiku. Good luck finding what form the last poem is called. Blessings.

John, I just got back from visiting my brother's grave in Valencia. Today is Eid, and according to our culture, we go to visit loved ones' graves on Eid. It is to show them that we miss them and remember them during religious occasions and festivals. So when I logged in, the first thing I saw was your hub. smile

Happy Eid, Misbah. I don’t know if that is an appropriate sentiment after visiting the graves of loved ones, but I hope it is.

Beautiful haikus on environmental issues. I enjoyed reading them, John. I also like the last sacrifice poem. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Misbah for sharing John's article.

This is an excellent group of poems about the environment and pollution, John. I really like the haiku. Environmental issues are so important. There are some things we all can do, like recycle. You covered the topic very well with all of your poetry.

Thank you, Pamela. I am pleased that you enjoyed reading these poems about the environment. It is an important issue and needs to be written about.

    Great work John.

I believe that poem is called a cinquain.

It is absolutely great.  We do use trees to create our writing paper.

Loved the haikus also.   The environment is definitely changing as you show.

We need to explore nature and take pride in our environment.

Jodahposted 21 months agoin reply to this

I thought it may have been a cinquain, Brenda, but it doesn’t quite fit the description. Yes, we need to give the environment top priority. Thank you for the encouraging comment as always.

        John...
It might not be, but it's close.

You'll just have to create a unique name for it by John Hansen...

        Either way...
        The poem is fantastic.

        Strong verse.

Yes, it is close. Maybe Misbah will find something, if not, yes, I may have to give it a name…a hansen lol.

            Oooppsss! I am back big_smile

So, captain, according to my investigation, it is called 'Diamante.' The writing format is the same, but the style of composition is probably different. ( I'm not sure if it's the same, but this is the only one I found that is similar to your style.) smile

The Diamante is a form similar to the Cinquain. The text forms the shape of a diamond.
Line 1: Noun or subject - one word
Line 2: Two Adjectives that describe line 1
Line 3: Three 'ing words that describe line 1
Line 4: Four nouns - the first two are connected with line 1; the last two are connected with line 7
Line 5: Three 'ing words that describe line 7
Line 6: Two adjectives that describe line 7
Line 7: Noun Synonym for the subject

            An example is-

                              Pencil
                         Sharp, skinny
               Writing, answering, erasing
                 Wood, lead, ink, plastic
               Drawing, smudging, leaking
                  Durable, comfortable
                                  Pen

(I am not sure if it is looking like a diamond) hmm

            https://sites.google.com/a/mha65.org/sc … s-for-kids

If the research results aren't satisfactory, we can name the poem as 'John Hansen's Style.' smile

Thanks for investigating this, Misbah. The number of words to each line is the same, so yes, roughly a diamond shape. I just didn’t follow the rules of adjectives, “ing” words etc. So, I guess it is “diamante”.. John style.

I've enjoyed this friendly banter between you and Misbah...
                Laughter for the day.

Might I suggest that John start the Hansen Principles...
A way to write poetry created by a poet.

Maybe introduce some self made strategies and Hansen Formularies....like this Diamente style with a twist of John's flavor.

I am glad you enjoyed our banter, Brenda. That is a good suggestion by you too..the Hansen Principles…has a ring to it. “Formularies” though….I don’t think I can even pronounce that. I will practice.

I loved the haikus, John, based on environmental issues. I enjoyed the last poem on "Sacrifice" also. They all sure bring an awareness that nature should be preserved without letting the various species of animals go extinct. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Misbah, for sharing John's work.

Wonderful haikus John. All are real eye-openers and I hope we realize our blunders soon and start rectifying them at the earliest. You have inspired me to write this tanka :

    John's Brilliant Haikus
Bring tears of joy and disgust
    in equal measure.
    Joy in reading the poems.
    Disgust thinking man's blunders

    Thanks, Misbah for sharing

Very thoughtful and creative Haikus, John! I didn't know about Haikus before joining HubPages and I only made one attempt. Haikus are a good example that “word count” shouldn’t be a measure of the quality of your work. Evoke the thought and let the reader think. Small and concise and yet full of meaning...A wonderful collection!

Hi Farah, I never wrote a haiku before joining HubPages either. It is an interesting style of poetry and can say a lot in a few words. Thank you for reading and for your kind comment.

    Hello John!
Excellent article to stress upon the environmental issues, through your poetic words. I loved all the haikus, and the last poem. You have covered almost all the important matters of concern related to the protection of our environment.
Thank you for spreading awareness through your creativity. Brilliant!!
Thank you Misbah for sharing this in the forum.
My best wishes to both of you.

Brenda, let us give it a scientific twist - how about "Hansen's Poetic equation?"

  16. Jodah profile image90
    Jodahposted 21 months ago

Haha Ravi, gee that would make me sound like some kind of cross between Einstein and Frost. Sounds good though smile

  17. Jodah profile image90
    Jodahposted 21 months ago

How about “Hansen’s Theory of Poetivity”?

  18. ravirajan01 profile image95
    ravirajan01posted 21 months ago

    Ok.Let us define the equation-

    P = HC2

    Where

    P = Hansen's Poetic energy.
    H = Hansen's poetic mass
C = Speed at which John writes poetry.
