-I hear of all the problems Obama has, but I haven't heard or seen any of them happening. It seems as if he has all the solutions.

    -What has Obama done wrong?

*Warning* This seemingly open ended question will entrap you, as a result of my faux curiosity actually being the initiation of a completely one sided assault on anybody that disagrees with my point. I actually have a 5000 page document listing everything that Obama has not done wrong, sitting here ready for your innocent attempts at joining a civilised debate. I may even bring up distant war history (70 years+) as a response to the slightest bit of criticism of a free health care service or any of my personal opinions. Any mention of guns will see a tirade of anti-American critiscm, implemented mainly by my 12 alter-egos.

-The most important and biggest thing Obama has done wrong is implementing more government control in a free country/market. I would hope this should explain itself.

He won't prosecute nor arrest the bankers involved in the fraud and theft of billions of dollars of taxpayer money as a result of selling mortgage backed securities and collateralized debt obligations.

So that's one thing he's done wrong.

Ron, you know I love you, but illegal aliens can get free healthcare right now.  If they are smart enough to get caught, or commit a crime in America, they get free health care for as long as they are in detention.  I understand where you are coming from, but doesn't it bother you that criminals get free health care and common folk do not?

Yes, that is a great point, but on the other hand we are all sinners in the eyes of God, and equally deserving of his wrath/mercy and since this is a Christian nation we should think like God does and consider everyone a criminal who deserves prison/healthcare.

Me and Davinagirl just got reborned. We feel soooo much closer to God and now look down on the rest of you heathens, don't we DG?

So here's the latest affront by that un-American, socialist Nazi Obama: I just read in the news today that he's now going after the CREDIT CARD COMPANIES! It's true. He is putting in limitations on what they can "offer" to their cardholders (the nerve!). Such restraints are a blatant attempt to control the last, great free-market industry (except of course the insurance and oil & gas industries). If credit card companies have to live by Obama's rules, how are they expected to make a profit? What is this country coming to???

They profit off keeping irresponsible citizens in debt.

The people have demonstrated time and time again that they are dumb sheep who couldn't make rational decisions if they tried.

The recession is what follows from letting people go ahead and loan whatever they want.

The American people are begging to have caretakers put rules in place to protect them from their own stupidity.

      This is reality.

Good question. Who WILL the wealthy be able to look down upon?
I think they will always look down upon the rest of us suckers. It's really about who will the former middle class have to look down upon, once they (we) are at the bottom of the heap in the same pile with the already poor and we watch as the illegal immigrants (aka "aliens") gobble up all the jobs that we got fired from. Oh yes, don't think we don't see that. Those Mexicans are coming for all the jobs we white people should be doing!

DG -- May I suggest you cut your prayer time to only 3 hours a day and spend the rest of your time SHOPPING (using your credit cards, natch). I believe that is the most direct way to help those poor, poor credit card CEOs and their families! MM

Oh, Hey Jiberish! Very clever idea!
Ryankett -- As an outside, objective observer, would you classify the actions of the Americans you see here on this Forum thread as
    a) uber patriotic
    b) uber idiotic
    c) neither
    d) both

    1. nicomp profile image68

    2. profile image0
ryankettposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I quite liked the term 'Alien', so can I be an 'Alien' instead of simply an 'Outsider'?

As an Alien, I see many Americans as b) uber idiotic, which deep down they acknowledge whilst attempting to pass this off externally as a) uber patriotic.

I would say that being uber patriotic is not a bad thing, but a true patriot would wish nothing but goodwill for his fellow patriots, even if this is advocating the basic human right for urgent healthcare should they be in pain or distress.

I happen to love Americans, so that judgements relates only those those to which you refer.

Dynasty is a great show.  It showed how America should be.  We should all look up to them because they are rich.  They are obviously doing something right.  It doesn't matter how you behave when you are rich.  You shouldn't be held to higher standards either.  The middle class should pay more taxes, because they are not trying hard enough to be rich.  Dynasty is not a representation of America, but it should be.  Praise the Lord!

The difference between Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck is that Jon Stewart is a COMIC.  He is not a journalist.  He pretends to be a journalist, but will reiterate that he is just a COMIC poking fun at news shows.  Colbert and Stewart are on Comedy Central, for Christ's sake.  I don't know what Glenn Beck is.  I try to be objective and watch him, but he lost me when he said that the 9/11 families got on his nerves.

I was very sad today to find out that my hair dresser is dying of Melanoma, and cannot get proper care because he doesn't have health insurance.  I disagree with this new Health Plan, but I agree with maybe making affordable insurance available to those who need it.

      Thats very hypocritical.

Insurance corporations are exactly that, they are corporations. They pay the medical bills from their income.

By offering cheap insurance they will be taking less revenue, but paying more in medical bills. The way that they will make this money back is to put extra money onto the premiums of its other customers.

That is effectively exactly the same principle as a national health service, except that the government would charge you less money than the insurance companies for this priviledge.... one has to make profits to pay a dividend to its shareholders
(and for its fat cat bonuses) and the other is a not for profit organisation.

In fact, that is a pretty ludicrious bit of logic there.

Thus would the gov. plan put most private insurers out of business and become an ever bigger draw on gov resources (ie tax $) over time.

Not that its relevant in this case anyway as anybody with an active Melamona is unsaveable anyway.... malignant maybe, but getting one is a sure fire way to a quick death no matter how blessed you are financially.

Why is it hypocritical to ask for a revision not a total overhaul of the system?  We're told that this plan is to insure the un-insured, and while the insurance companies are in it for the money, like all businesses are, provisons should be made for pre exsisting conditions.

He and his unconstitutional czars are quietly consolidating power at the federal level. And the news media has convulsions when a peaceful citizen comes to a town hall meeting with a legal gun.

To me the biggest thing Obama has done wrong was when he signed the documents to close Guantanamo Bay without knowing all the facts.

But he meant well. The Liberal/Progressive/Democrat mindset excuses any behavior as long as you mean well.

Yes, because of the insurance companies and all the other big businesses being able to do what they want after the deregulation during the Reagan years and beyond, America is the land of plenty! The streets are paved with gold and everyone is happy and rich and they all have enough food to eat, $20+ an hour jobs, their own homes and proper health care for those willing to pay for it...

But...oh oh...if you get sick and can't afford it well...we can't help you, you are screwed. You should have saved money for that eventuality. You say you got hit by a bus?...well, it was stupid of you to leave your house. I shouldn't have to pay for your stupidity...this is a dog eat dog world and caring about your fellow man is stupid.

It's sad if this is the kind of country you want to live in. I'm glad I live elsewhere.
