He can't state a whole sentence without blowing up.  He is a bigot, racist, woman hater who will give big tax breaks to the wealthy.  He is a liar.  This is just a "I did it" moment for him.  He has filed for bankruptcy 3 times.  This is his 3rd time running for president.  Just because he has money does not make him a good candidate for president.  You think we won't be at war within six months of him winning and probably on our own soil.  Be fooled by him but I will not be fooled.  I don't care who doesn't like it.  He could very well be the head of the KKK.  No one deserves to be talked to or treated like he has and will continue to treat people.

I would laugh. I would laugh because of how many people have hated on Obama..a very intelligent and wise guy who came to power and revealed the amount of hate, prejudice, discrimination and dysfunction that exists in this country.

I would laugh, because many people say Obama is Muslim, yet they would rather elect a man who really idolizes money and sees himself as God. Isn't the republican party supposed to uphold Christian values such as love?

I would laugh because he would be a mirror of all the ignorance that exists in this country. Does he even know anything about foreign policy. Pardon me but does he even know where Africa is on the map? But let us forgive him for his rude and racist remarks. We shall blame it on the ignorance.

Finally, I would laugh because everyone including his won running mates would be in shock. But why? Because it will be biggest joke of this century!

Thank you Obama for being great and bringing to light the deep wounds that exist in this nation. Even though I did not agree with some of your decisions, I still believe that it has been 8 years of great work!  Cheers.

    TRUMP.GET OVER YOURSELF.

I do not support Donald Trump for president, and If he wins I would be very surprised.

I heard Barack Obama speak a few years before he decided to run for president. Many people in the audience (black and white),  were encouraging him to run for president. I actually spoke with some white people, (or I should say they spoke to me) after hearing Barack speak,  and they were all confident at the time that Barack would make a good president.

The reason why I mentioned Barack Obama in this discussion, is because I have also had experiences with Donald Trump. He sounds like racist, bigot, and every other racist descriptions. However, the services provided by the Trump organizations, are among the best I have experienced, that it is extremely difficult for me not to back Donald Trump as a business person.  I strongly believe that the hassle that Trump has faced in the past, is because his policies tend to promote racial harmony rather demote, and that those who are against Trump are the racists. I listened to a speech he delivered at Liberty University on You-tube and I am in agreement with all he said.

I agree with his desire to go "bigger", and I understand his goal to "fix-it up" and create a huge empire. I also agree with his philosophy on immigrants. I am from Jamaica, but I think some law should be put in place, to make Americans, beneficiaries of a better standard of life than immigrants.  I agree with him that it is frustrating to go to other countries, and see how they live, and then come back to America and see how we live. I do not know if it is Donald or his father, but services provided by Trump organizations have been of a better quality than others I have experienced.

If he does not become president, I think the new president, should take a page out of the Trump book, and give more Americans the opportunity to "live a better life".

Hi Grace Marguerite Williams! How's it going?

To my knowledge, nobody has been able to identify any actual policy position, held by Mr. Trump, that is anywhere near as flamboyant, one way or another, as his presentation. Therefore, there would be no need to react immoderately, either in pessimism or "fear for this country," and all that; or joy.

Frankly, it seems to me that Trump is the one who would---and should---be the most worried, if he were to actually win the White House. He would quickly learn that it is a whole lot more fun being a "rabble rouser" than it is to actually govern the United States of America.

Does he have any experience in politics and government? That is, running for office of some kind, winning, and then actually serving by governing, be it at the city, county, state, or federal level. Running a corporation, no matter how large it is, is not the same as governing a city, state, or legislative district.

Ronald Reagan cannot serve as a model. Ronald Reagan had served eight years as governor of California---one of the top five largest states in the Union---before becoming President of the United States. And he had spent the better part of his adult life in preparation, honing his political skills, and developing his political philosophy as a spokesman for GE, as a radio commentator, and as a union leader (SAG), albeit as one widely perceived to be management's best friend.

Everyone needs to listen to the issues and polices that are being proposed.  That said, I would have to support someone besides Hilary.  Many democrats are not happy with Obama or they would not be voting for Trump.  Many conservatives want Cruz and have hope that will still happen.  America is about people of every color, size and breed.  We are Americans period.  Not black women or white women, Americans.

Our leaders in office right now are set on dividing us like right before the civil war.  Trump is saying I have been successful.  I have been a liberal, it is not working anymore.  Our country is not great. Business makers that create jobs are going to other countries because of policies not personality.  This is a policy problem.  People over the age of 40 are concerned about our children's future.  Young people in college have not seen taxes go up.  Food go up. Housing go up.  They just see free stuff.  But, when an ad says free, read the small print.  Trump  is many things, but one thing he is, is a job creator.  What has Obama created?  Someone like Trump running for president. Whether you are just starting out or about to retire.  Unless we get taxes under control, create small business and great products, we will be socialist and we will have civil war.

As a neighbour to the US, I fear what else besides the wall between us will be an obstacle to being true neighbours. Our history of being trade partners with the US has been rocky, no matter who is in charge of which country. But my main fear is that with the continual black and brown outs across a lot of the US, we will be at war over water. Timber and fishing rites have long been the strength of our relationship (contentious at times for sure- yet still the meat and potatoes of our connection), and with what Harper had done as PM of Canada re: abolishing restricted and protected waterways as a means to enable pipeline creation, Trudeau may or may not seriously re-instate those. There is a huge battle within Canada politically - many in the West believe Canada was duped into going with a lesser known party which will alienate 'progressive economy' aka fracking/pipeline building and puts the West in jeopardy of being economically stable - as a socialist country, we all pay in and help out others - a concept foreign to many Americans, and so, many Western Canadians have adopted a pro-capitalist framework, hoping not to see tax dollars going East. The down turn of the oil industry in the West has already seen huge negative impact on jobs, housing market etc, with many crying that the Canadian Gov has sold them out, and is not working from a sane pov. This only furthers the worry that Can/US relations will be farther apart.

Long standing military support of the US has been an issue for decades. Canada appeared to be teflon, never wearing any of the negative the US was given as Canada is "good" and "filled with nice people". Since 2000 Canadian alignment with the US has been troubling. And the Afghanistan situation all but re-constructed Canada's reputation on the world stage.
Trudeau has put a good foot forward in an attempt to again re-define Canada as a separate entity from the US. I worry Trump and his rah rah attitude will not only turn US into a Marshall Law Country, but that it will further create dissonance between us, and focus that had been about the 'enemy oversea' will eventually be brought closer to home.

First, what a great question. My reaction would be sadness that enough people would buy in to his message to elect him.  I am 70 years old.  I remember watching the protests at the Democratic convention in 1968 on television and crying when I saw young people bloodied by Daley's cops. It was a rebellion.
This is a rebellion of a different type.  It's that ol' pendulum again.  It will always try to find the middle. Although I'm very happy where we are, perhaps there is a need to swing back to the right somewhat this time.  I believe the Universe balances itself.  I don't believe Donald Trump will be elected.  I believe his defeat will be similar to that of Barry Goldwater.  He was the darling of the KKK in my day.   And once our new President takes office, he/she would be an imbecile not to remember the issues that were raised by the entire Trump debacle and address them.
Looking back over my life since 1946, I've learned that life does make sense, but usually only in retrospect.  Donald Trump doesn't like to lose.  If it reaches a point where there's no chance for him to win, he may disappear as quickly as he came on the scene and go back to running Trump world.
I like what another person said, that a nation gets the leader it deserves.  We are at times lost and afraid, but I believe we are more good than bad and that we will get the leader we deserve.  When others forget who we are, I believe it's our job to remind them.

In the UK there is a political party that comes out with all sorts of crazy policies that are produced just to make an impression, without having been properly thought through - much in the way that Donald Trump operates.

It's called the Official Monster Raving Loony Party. It gets a few votes at every General Election but not enough to get it taken seriously.

However, in the United States it looks as though its equivalent leader could be elected as President!

I  will first have to see whether all that he has said during the campaign is just rhetoric or with some substance. In case he follows what he says than the battle lines that have been blurred under Obama will be clearly defined. It will also give heart to many nations fighting Islamic militancy. There is no doubt that Islam is the only religion that is quoted by its supporters to establish a caliphate. Trump may be the answer, but we will have to wait and see.

Amazed shock will be my reaction.

Why? Because Trump running & winning is further evidence of the people's apathy and disbelief in American government officials being honorable, moral or loyal to the people and the precepts of the US Constitution.

Trump being a leading republican candidate is proof the broken Republican party. IS Trump a tough bully? Yes of course he is and that is one of the reasons he is winning votes from a sea of apathetic voters.

Republican's want a candidate that can beat Hillary Clinton and most feel that Trump is the only possibility.

Many want real change! Change that is NOT corrupted socialism such as what Obamacare represents! Trump's outlandish behavior promises such change.

Will there be risks under Trump? Of course there will be! International politics and business effects including war - yikes! Guess what - many Americans are willing to take those risks.. they want the adventure... they want a show of "real strength" regardless of repercussions.

All this is do to a total failure by government to represent the people toward a health, positive, proud  and productive lifestyle.  Habitual welfare is more entrenched than ever before. Mexican borders have stayed open because of government official’s sleazy deals with the drug trade and low cost labor users and shady political contributions. Human trafficking is at a high supplying so called massage parlors.. Prostitution and strip clubs, Shady toll roads ownership and conflict of interest with legal system.  These things continue and grow BECAUSE government officials - republican and democrat- routinely accept and profit by it.

Face it . The people - on welfare or working- really have no representation any more.

Wake up people!  Voting Trump in represents a relatively bloodless, soft version of a new American revolution. Something we the people have sorely needed for some time now.   For better or worse- it is time to try and Make America Great Again.

The other candidates will NOT try to fix America. Trump will try. He might make things much better (or worse).

The people on welfare have had their representation. They have abused the system. That is why the democrats have a better chance. They please the people who don't work but want stuff for free. The working american class is the one that is not heard.

Well the us population is 62% white. Africans are 13%. However out of all the welfare cases there as as many blacks as whites. So that tells you 4 times as many blacks get welfare then white people, based on percentage of the population.

    7. Dean Traylor profile image83
Dean Traylorposted 9 years agoin reply to this

What's the percentage for blacks on welfare? Saying the population of the U.S. has 13% of the population are blacks doesn't automatically mean there are more blacks on welfare, percentage-wise. Also, why focus on African-Americans?

I agree with Tusitala Tom who says a nation deserves the leaders it elects. Maya Angelou is quoted as saying  " when people show you who they are, believe them." Donald Trump is showing us who and what he is: a selfish, mysoginistic, hateful, racist demagogue who will say and do anything to get what he wants. Satan uses people like him to see what he can get away with and as long as there is a sub set of people whose first reaction to anything is fear, loathing and seeking a scapegoat to blame for all problems the Trumps of this world have a chance of being elected. So lets not choose a devil to lead the country and then be surprised when the nation goes to hell in a hand basket.

If this happens, my thought would be this: to borrow a line from Eminem, will the real Donald Trump, please stand up?
Will we get the business savvy Donald (he claims to be) or will we get the one that went bankrupt four times?
Will we get the one that dishes out on jobs moving to China, or the one that has his own line of clothing made in that very place?
Will he deliver on those promises he keeps saying we will like so much that we will get sick of it (and for that matter actually elaborate on them) or will we be gurgling his brand of Trump Snake Oil?
And, will we get a tough president, or a thin skinned one that still debates with a writer that once mentioned he had small hands...more than two decades ago?
I know there's a lot of angry yokels out there that truly want to believe that he is the latest and greatest. To them, he's saying the things they've only dreamed of saying in polite society. But, so far, The Donald has been a lot of talk with very little substance. Just a lot of "This is Huuuge!"  After a while, even a firebrand like him gets boring.

I believe he is the right man, at the right moment in history, with the right answers.  I think people will surprised at how good a president he can be.

Horror. Watching the debates from where I am in Europe right now makes it all seem like a nightmare. To have to live it would be the worst thing imaginable. Why: Because a country run on hate will do nothing but burn and destroy.

Our system of government is such that the president has limited powers.  Congress has more power anyway.  Presidents either take credit for or are blamed for things they have very little control over.

There is no good choice for President.  Trump may be a lot of things, but you can bet that he will shake things up and change things.  Maybe for the good, maybe for the bad, but he will change things.  The same cannot be said for Hillary, who if elected will give us the same old crap, bleeding us dry so her and her corporate cronies can live the high life.

Things need to change, even if that change is violent.  Trump being elected does scare me, but not as much as Hillary being elected and selling us down the river to slow poverty and death.

Hitler also got his political stability and power by getting elected through a democratic process. This man is no less dictator, his expressions prove to be such.

Total happiness...I really fell for President Obama's "TIME FOR CHANGE"
and still waiting...He definitely is not the worst President, but you'd think being the first black President he would have most definitely made the "CHANGE"....So now that Trump is giving it a shot...I think he will make a lot of people who hate him, as I did only months ago...CHANGE THEIR MINDS like myself....In fact at first I thought well now it's a woman who needs to lead and Hillary was my hope until I heard Trump first speech really expecting him to sound stupid as usual but when he spoke about what this country truly needs to get back on track I was blown away...DONALD TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT

To quote The Who “meet the new boss same as the old boss.” Despite how we like to look the job the presidency is not this all powerful thing. The president does not write laws. He can do the executive orders, but they are limited. Just look at our recent history. Executive orders bypass the legitimate ways our laws are made. The president needs to work with congress and right now Mr. Trump is burning any bridges with the established GOP. The government is not a business and congressmen are not businessmen (ok some are).  At this pace Mr. Trump will find he has an oval office and that’s it. He can’t fire congress.

As for the democrats we will look back fondly on the kind way both President George W. Bush and Barack H. Obama were treated. Even now some are seeing just his sign (Trump 2016) as hate speech akin to KKK rallies (just check the news).
Now to misquote the Who “we will be fooled again.”

My Irish ancestors came here by ship before World War One as common laborers.  They never had seen blacks or savage redskins before.  Surely they had nothing to do with killing Indians or owning slaves.

I would be very pleased.  Its time to get the "Made in America" label back on our goods and focus on producing high quality goods, time to bring back jobs again.  Build the wall?  Yes of course; I am an immigrant - and I came in legally, after going through a long process with rigorous checks all the way.  Is it fair that some people sneak in illegally?   Trump has been misquoted by the media and every "expert" on this issue.  I do not think he is "divisive' at all - but there is logic to his wanting to thoroughly check people's backgrounds before letting them into the country - after all it is to make us safer isn't it?  By the way - I belong to a minority group and am a Trump supporter.  He is shrewd and will surround himself with intelligent politicians to advise him.  Its time to make way for him.

Have you seen the movie "Friday" with Ice cube and Cris Tucker? If so...then you seen the part when smoky asked was Debo spending the night with Felicia? Felicia sister said yes...why? Smoky said "well...party over hear!!!" That is how I feel. If Donald can be president...then I'm voting for Kanye West 2020!!! Hell I might run!!! For that matter...this is a joke!!! This can't be real...Dont get me wrong...i don't hate Donald but if he win...that mean anybody can be president...no matter your education...just how much money you got! Now we know we don't won't that...get serious people...I'll rather vote for a drug king pin than a Donald trump...just saying...

My reaction would be the same as it would be if Hillary won. Have we ever had an election for US president where both mainstream candidates were this pathetic? If Trump could learn how to tone down his kindergartenesque press conferences he would be winning by double digits! This should be the easiest win for the republicans but its actually going to be close! He has personality issues that will keep him from being our next pres. He has burned too many bridges by trying to be the nations bully. Nobody likes the bully. So, unfortunately, we will see Obamacare destroy many small businesses and we will see our taxes take quite a hike. I really hope I am wrong about much of this but this is how I'm seeing it!
