What is the likelihood of the Democratic Party imploding if Hillary Clinton is nominated?
With Bernie Sanders clearly gaining popularity among party voters, would the nomination of Clinton split the party?
Yes, that is a great possibility. Two distinct wings of the Democrat Party left are up in arms.
The Super Delegates backing Clinton have suppressed representation of the large voter turnout in favor of Sanders. I see trouble ahead when the millennials realize that Sanders was screwed. They might be willing to jump ship with him.
The party honchos need to understand that the perception of a political process that is unfair and undemocratic will bring the Democratic party to state of dissention that we cannot afford considering what is being offered by 'that other party'.
How is it unfair? If he ran as Independent, would he expect them to rally for a democrat? What's unfair is him running as dem, syphoning votes from Clinton. And after the things said by his supporters, this party is already torn. If dems so bad, he1?
Leslie, I guess the question is , is it loyalty to party and its machinery or loyalty to the principles that should be the foundation of the Democratic Party and the progressives that are calling the party to once again embrace.
But those principles never went anywhere. Sanders just thinks he invented them. If Howard Dean and John Lewis are supporting Hillary, are you saying they are not principled? The problem is, Sanders is Indie.Should have been principled and ran as.imo
I make it clear that I will support Clinton over any GOP, it is just that we can do so much better....

Everyone has their opinion. No one speaks for us all.
Like the republican committee, there may be some end run by the democrat committee to divert the voting of Sanders to some flim flam of delegates to give it to Hillary.
That's partly where I was going with this. The Super Delegate arrangement tilts the table so heavily in her favor that Sanders doesn't stand a chance. Make these delegates like any other, and Sanders might be neck and neck with Clinton.
Ummm, she's winning in popular votes, too. And just who do you think delegates should be with? Sanders had shown zero party loyalty, in fact, he bashes it on a regular basis. It's beyond silly that he's getting frayed at the edges. Indie or bust!
Clinton's winning in popular votes, but the Super Delegates are unbound, and are chosen by the party elites for the express purpose of supporting the establishment nominee-popular vote is unimportant. Sanders is doing better than delegate count shows
But Sanders just joined the Democrat party for this election. He should not be chosen by party establishment, hello! He should not even be running as dem. He's a spoiler, and I hope they pay him well. (Republicans)
Zero. Money talks and the Clintons have a lot to throw around. I think there will be some griping by Bernie's followers, and real anger. But in the end, the left seems to come together more than my party. The Democrats are too organized and too media savvy to blow an opportunity. It also helps to have a compliant media.
I must say my favorite news moment of the weekend was Bernie Bros throwing money at HRC. Good for them.
Hillary got more votes than Trump. Media fawns all over Trump and Sanders. When do any of them admit a woman is beating them all?
I'll be waiting.
Clinton is neck and neck in polls with Cruz, though she's currently beating Trump and of course Sanders. Whoever the GOP candidate is, he will highlight Clinton's ethical issues (including the email) and prove to be quite a test for her.
What else is new? She's been a target for 30 yrs. And none of these guys is any great example of purity. Trust that!
First of all, Sanders just became a democrat. As far as I'm concerned, the party is already splt. And the hatred of Sanders supporters FOR democrats is stunning. Both Trump and Sanders have done a huge disservice to this country. Both of them should have had the integrity to run outside of big party. They both used the clout of party to gain votes. A vote for Hillary is the vote for a democrat. Voting Sanders is not. And i think you can clearly see that in every rally. It starts out with speakers who bash the Democratic party! It's split already, and it's not Hillary doing it. Imo
Leslie, I believe Sanders represents the beliefs of the average Democrat much more than HRC does. In fact, I think her core "values" are the same as his. But can't get elected that way. Just reality. Sanders is just honest about it.
I don't know about that. She says affordable college if you work for it, he says free. Which is dem? She's how I was taught. Plus, I can't think of any dem who wouldn't want research done on gun violence, learn the true effects...it's against the law
Actually, she's the Democratic one. Kucinich would be more like the anti establishment. Or Cynthia McKinney. Or Mike Gravel. Sanders was Indie until this election. That makes him a sand bagger.

In a popular vote that Sanders handily won in New Hampshire, Clinton walks away with an equal share of delegates. The Super Delegates that can vote as they please and not according to their constituency award Clinton their tying votes. Yes the Democrats have decided to run their own campaign and...

If 60% of America can't trust Hillary, why are they still willing to vote for her?If you say it is better than voting for Trump, that is a very poor excuse.

Is Hillary Clinton "Feeling the Bern"?Bernie Sanders is on a winning streak that has included some solid states. In an interview this morning Clinton says she's not even sure Bernie is a Democrat. The Vermont independent raised a jaw-dropping $109 million in the first quarter,...

I would have liked to have more of a reason to support the Democratic ticket beyond the fact that I strongly dislike and distrust Trump and Pense. Clinton with her recent VP pick hasn't given me one. While Caine is more of a centrist and safe choice, the fact is that there are so many of us...
