      Hello, Mr. Bill.
I felt sorry for Clarence and Chris. I'm sure there are many people like them all around the world. I've witnessed many people here in Europe who come here to work and want to have a decent life; when they don't succeed, most of them join horrible companies out of loneliness, and their only friend is alcohol. My heart aches when I watch such tragic events; their relatives soon forget about them, and they die painful death.
It is not just a story of Europe, Asia, or America, but a global issue. I pray to God that every person on Earth has at least one special friend or family member who will never let them drown in the dark. Ameen!

      Thank you for sharing!
Blessings to you and your family. smile

Mr. Bill's article is popular...as it should be.

Pamela also posted a forum which I answered.

This is an eye opening article worthy of attention.

It's hard to imagine people living in this manner, but it happens.

I have one friend whose house is so cluttered there is only a pathway...i often fear it will burn down one night when he forgets to put out that cigarette while sipping his bottle.

Needless to say...we need to show kindness and compassion to those less fortunate.
It's not for us to judge...it's for us to treat them as we want others to treat ourselves.

It's great to hear from you, Bill. I love the message in you article. There are people less fortunate than us who do not have all the means of life. Nevertheless we should consider them as our friends and care for them.

Thanks for sharing Bill's post, Misbah.

I’m glad the men at least had the shelter of the garage to live in and hope they had more help from their hostess and other sources. It’s sad that one of them died and the partnership was broken up. Thank you for sharing Bill’s article, Misbah. It’s important that we think about people with problems in life.

Very sad, Bill.  Unfortunately the situation the brothers found themselves in is probably much more common than most of us realize.  There is a lot of misery in this world.  Very nice to have a new article from Bill.

Bill, I know you're correct, that this same scenario plays out again and again. How sad. Didn't we all begin life as someone's newborn? What leads a person to such a miserable existence? At least, you knew their names. That says a lot about you. Thank you for caring, and thank you for writing. It's nice to see you here again.

Hi, Bill. It’s good to see an article from you once in a while. It’s refreshing. I like following your thoughts on this as I live downtown and there are so many homeless around here. One older lady recently occupied the bus stop shelter with  her possessions. It’s like her house. People don’t seem to mind. I see her making up herself in front of a mirror and she looks good. I wish I know her story. Maybe, I’ll find the courage to sit with her one day.

Thanks to all of you, my friends, always loyal to this old man, always willing to take the time to let me know you care.  You are appreciated very much, and I hope you are always aware of that.

Such beautiful and thoughtful writing, as always, Bill.  My heart goes out to those who are homeless and/or alone.  It is shocking, for example, to see how many in our elderly community live alone, their families seemingly have deserted them.  They live sparingly, often having to decide if they should spend what little money they have on either heat for the winter, medications, or food.  Is this the “American Dream”?
